Dalaman Airport

✅ Trip Verified | Dalaman airport has got to be one of the most poorly managed, terrible places I have ever had the displeasure of being. The prices are absolutely ridiculous nearly £2 for a bottle of water. My main issue however is the staff at DLM. during my time there a child was sick on the floor and not a single wellness check was given nor was the puddle of vomit cleaned up for a good 25 minutes despite the fact at least 8 staff members (cleaners included) stepped over said puddle. whilst there we were taken for random searches during this one of the staff members groped my partner complaints about this have been filed with both the airport and airline we flew with but still yet to hear anything back.

Not Verified | Terrible airport, 11 euros for the worst cheese and ham roll you will eat ,wanted 5 euros for a small snickers bar. Security way over the top! Bags xrayed 3 times then singled out for hand luggage checks at boarding gate - everything out the bag, case off tablet and kindle, everything swabbed for drugs or explosives, supposed to be random but Turkish waved through while families who are not a risk are checked excessively!

Not Verified | Worst airport ever. Rude staff at passport control and at security. Cost of food is extortionate, €20 for basic MacDonalds, I paid 30€ for four basic drinks and small snacks. I am well travelled and this is by far the worst airport I have ever had the misfortune to depart from. It has put me off returning to Turkey, I am not surprised that tourism is on the decline.

✅ Trip Verified | This is the worst airport I have ever been to. As soon as you are dropped at departures, you are hounded with men pretending to work for the airport to try and get tips for wheeling your luggage to the airport door for you. When you refuse, they will become aggressive. Be advised, some will be dressed in official looking uniforms, others in clothes resembling someone travelling. I raised with airport staff and was met with a vacant stare. Enhanced security checks are in place, I understand this is a Turkey wide thing and not just related to Dalaman. The prices inside the airport are obscene. Be prepared to pay a minimum of €20 for a burger king meal, and €5+ for a soft drink. There are very little places to sit whilst waiting, and then when your gate is called you will have your hand luggage opened and every item spread across a table to be checked by security. This is by far the worst airport I have ever been to.

✅ Trip Verified | Scammers out front harassing you right away trying to help with bags that get aggressive when you refuse help. One even grabbed me when I refused to pay and ran away when he seen a police officer. Security then throw your bags through scanners and rush you to collect your things when you have multiple cases. Then the food court is ridiculously priced, I paid £18 for two bottles of water and 2 packets of chewing gum! Total scam and shambles of an airport, you even have to pay extortionate prices for WiFi the whole experience is painful and expensive.

Not Verified | The airport is ridiculous you have to pay €20 euros for WiFi. This is 2024, and you denying humans of the basic necessities. How are we meant to contact family and friends about our arrival without being scammed by Dalaman airport for €20 as soon as you arrive/departure. I have never experienced this before with tui. This has put me off traveling to Turkey just out of principle.

Not Verified | Arrival was very good, no fuss at all. Bought duty free cigarettes which were very well priced (booze ended up being cheaper in UK sadly). The departures though is just incredibly stressful. I can't stand security at the best of times but it's so over the top here. I do not know if it's the norm for the turkey but the checks before boarding the aircraft were incredibly panic and anxiety inducing. They make you feel like a criminal and do drug swabs all over you and your stuff. I will also mention the prices are criminal and you should 100% avoid spending any money inside this airport. Water and food is cheaper on the plane.

Not Verified | The double security at this airport was not explained to us in advance so that was a suprise. The lady at the gate for the wheelchair access kept us waiting until all the people in the queue already waiting had gone through which we thought was reasonable. She then kept us waiting while she let hoards of people who arrived after us through, then she kept us waiting while no-one was actually in the queue but every so often people would arrive (it was becoming slightly irritating by this point). Unfortunately we don't speak Turkish and she didn't speak any English so we don't know why we were kept waiting all this time while no-one else was in the queue. Her only job would have been to lift the barrier and let us through to the wheelchair access route. We were only allowed through when someone working at the airport arrived pushing a wheelchair otherwise I think we would still be there. She looked really peeved that she had to let us through following after them. In comparison, the security guys in the area we were waiting to get through to were really helpful and friendly.

Not Verified | You don't really have a choice, as this is the only airport in the area, especially if you are going to Oludeniz or Fethiye. But if you can avoid this prison. From your very first steps into the airport you are subjected to x-rays and bag checks that's before you even check in. The staff are about as cheerful and welcoming as what you'd expect when signing into His majesty's Prisons. Once you've checked in... onto passport control and the 2nd bag check. 5 flights leaving in the space of a few hours. So how many gates open? 2 and one for the prison guards... once you've finally managed to get through and you've had your belongings thoroughly checked your through to the Duty Free, which you'll need to remortgage your house and sell your feet pics on Onlyfans to get a bottle of whisky and some sweets for your colleagues at work... Nevermind, the food court can't be as expensive.. Nope double priced meal deals. I could not get my head around the simply outrageous "Meal Deal" from Eat ups! A stale sandwich and small Fanta for £13 pounds... it was even advertised as a "Deal". Oh the WiFi is unreachable as you need a code from the kiosk but no one has it... the paid "super" WiFi work though... shock. And finally when your gate is called and you can escape this prison... you have all your belongings swabbed and yet another scan. Guess it's security and it would stop any potential security threats, but this is too much. Love Turkey, but this Dump leaves a sour taste when leaving. Positives: it's clean.

Not Verified | Worst airport ever been to. Food, drinks total rip off. Arrogant people who think you come on holiday to give them tip, tip tip, tip,. Makes you not want to go to turkey again. I do give tips when in Turkey but not when am asked
