Changsha Huanghua Airport

✅ Trip Verified | The security check of the airport is so bad. They pass my shoes through the X-ray, leaving me no shoes at all. They don’t provide slippers to me. Despite the overall environment is being improved, this inhuman experience makes me very uncomfortable.

Not Verified | This airport is located in a train station next to it which is pretty cool, but can cause major traffic getting in to it. The inside is clean and well kept with plenty of restaurants. Security is just ok, not many lines open so it can take a long time to get through. The issue I have like most Chinese airports is that they don’t use the jetways much and make you walk out on tarmac and take buses, sometimes to and from aircraft. In our case it was in the rain which made for an uncomfortable trip. Not sure why when jetways were open and they have enough but from what I can tell is that when the plane is not to depart after landing it gets stored over night and if you fly in later at night you will have to take bus, so I try to avoid night flights into this airport.

✅ Trip Verified | Very poor for an international airport. Firstly I saw Thai Lion Air's check-in desk and queued only be told I needed to go to a different set of desks for the Utapao flight because I was in the queue for the Bangkok flight, which made no sense because both flights were operated by Thai Lion Air. I therefore had to queue up again, which was annoying. After clearing immigration at around 1.00pm, half of the shops and catering outlets were closed. You expect this very late at night but not early in the afternoon. Also it is not clear how to connect to the Wifi. The only plus side is queues were fairly short at immigration and the terminal was clean and modern.
