Brussels Charleroi Airport

Not Verified | Parking booked and paid in advance. Get QR code to get in to parking. Nowhere to find the QR scanner. Push the green button gate opens and think to myself "will QR have to scan at the end of the road" after having had a nice holiday back to the parking. Want to leave the parking and still never see a QR scanner. Insert a ticket in what I have had and pay €90! No one to see to ask for any info. Was freezing cold so to get away anyway. Contacted them, sent proof that I have already paid and hope for some goodwill. Nothing. No technical defect, so just pay them! €135 lost instead of €45. It is not for nothing that Charleroi Airport gets so bad reviews! Never again Charleroi for me! | Parking vooraf geboekt en betaald. Krijg QR code om binnen te geraken aan parking. Nergens de QR scanner te vinden... Duw op groene knop poort gaat open en denk bij mezelf “zal QR dan wel moeten scannen bij het uitrijden” na een leuke vakantie gehad te hebben terug richting parking... Wil van parking afrijden en nog steeds geen QR scanner te zien. Steek kaartje in wat ik gehad heb... En BAM 90€ bijbetalen! Niemand te zien om enige info te vragen. Was steenkoud dus betaald om er toch weg te geraken. Contact opgenomen met hun, bewijzen gestuurd dat ik al betaald heb en hopen op wat goodwill... Niks dus. Geen technisch defect dus betaal maar zeggen ze daar! 135€ kwijt ipv 45€. Niet voor niks dat Charleroi AirPort dus zo slechte reviews krijgt! Nooit meer Charleroi voor mij!

Not Verified | No water fountains. It really upsets and aggravates me that water fountains are not available here, and when we asked if we could refill our water at one of the restaurants we were told rudely that you don't do that here and we have to buy water. Thanks for making everyone buy plastic Brussels Charleroi. Really great, big thumbs up to you for that and for keeping water nice and privatised. Please change. For your customers and your planet.

✅ Trip Verified | We came to the airport at 22:00. Our next flight was at 7:10. First thing - no working information center. No one to ask any information. We barely found where we could rent a car, but it was also closed. No information about how to get to the city and how to get back. I am glad we at least had data and Google at our disposal (wifi is bad as well). There is no way to buy a coffee or tea, or alcohol at evening/night, none! No coffee shops, restaurants, bar, not even a single coffee vending machines. We walked around the whole airport (which has very bad navigation system). After we asked airport representatives at entrance security check (who checked our hands for explosive elements or drugs for 3 times in a 40 minutes gap) where we can get any type of hot drinks they referred us to the gas station. After 15 minutes walk, only thing we got after getting there was that it was closed. So had a long back trip of shame. After getting back we had a hard time finding a place to sleep over or just sit and chill. The airport is small, lots of people, floors are dirty, benches have a high hand rest made specifically for you to not think of sleeping in any way. Oh, and the smell from the toilets was "gorgeous". All this time we were clueless of where our flight is going to take place (there are two terminals far away). No departure information of any kind. And the things I mentioned above are just a part of our experience. All in all - the worst airport experience ever. The 2/10 rating this airport has is too much. I give 1 point because it was warm enough (7th September)

✅ Trip Verified | This is one of the worst airports I have ever seen! If you come by foot, you have to go around a few kilometers because there is a fence between street and terminal and you have to enter from other side. The transport connection with Charleroi and Brussel is expensive. The airport is too small and it is very crowded.

Not Verified | Terminal 2. 5 flights scheduled between 16:45 and 21:15, 2 flights delayed of about 40 minutes. At 18.00hrs there isn’t a free spot to sit in the terminal not even on the floor because it is full of people already sitting there or standing up and waiting! Rude security staff as always. No food and beverage options, just a small packed refreshments bar with limited and uninviting food on offer. Duty free shop smaller than a run down night shop. To make the experience even more pleasant there is only one small set of toilets for the entire “terminal”!

✅ Trip Verified | The worst airport I've been to and I've visited many European, Asian and American ones. Poorly connected with Brussels (in fact, it's very far from the city), minimal amenities, no comfort zone for the passengers, hours and hours (literally) of standing in the lines for the security checks. Dirty toilets. No information available. No drinking water fountains. Avoid at any cost. If you need to fly from Brussels, use the airline that flies out of Zavantem.

Not Verified | Worst airport Terminal (T2) ever. Wretched quality, overpriced "duty free" shop and snack bar (only one snack bar! No vending machine or the option of something else!) It's not European quality!

Really bad. Hour long queues for passport control of EU citizens. Missed one bus, and then another, a nearly empty bus to Brussels because of lack of easy signage for buying tickets. Not possible to buys ticket on the bus. Staff all very apologetic (thank you!), but it was not their fault. Bus ticket of EUR is a complete rip-off!

✅ Trip Verified | Worst airport ever. No smoking area, 1 small cafe with extremely overpriced food, 1 small duty free shop. Also, very few seating places, placed on the other side to charging points, which means you should seat on the dirty floor to get your device charged. That's all you should know.

✅ Trip Verified | Terminal 2 dirty, toilets worse than in a refugee camp but with a 5 stars pricing bar, no news-stand (local or international newspapers or magazines = travellers are supposed to be analphabets but in need of perfumes and spirits at the local poor duty free). This site should be a main entrance to Belgium. Belgians should be aware of the public image offered = disgusting.
