✅ Trip Verified | Really not sure what all the hate and negativity is about. Through security in six minutes. Through border control in two minutes. Loads of seats. Really good quality restaurants and bars which weren’t an absolute rip off. Toilets are only pay toilets before departures. Then all free, assume due to stop people wandering in and using. Sat by gate 25 now for a full flight back to Manchester and all is fine. Was proper worrying before but it’s been a pleasure. Only negative was went in wrong car park dropping the hire car back, but that my my fault.

"amongst the worst in Europe"

Not Verified | Poorly managed airport which must be amongst the worst in Europe. Chaotic at the best of times, catastrophic at worst. Overcrowded. Nowhere to sit. Poor signposting. Poor professionalism among staff who shout and crack loud jokes at each other. Random security checks before even getting into the building, then you have to do it all again. Chaotic parking facilities, no logic, no system, poor planning. Coming back from holiday once, we saw the car next to ours in the "premium" parking right in front of the terminal building had been broken into with a smashed side window. The poor people had to drive all the way back to the Netherlands with a broken window. Not even a note from the airport staff offering an explanation or a solution. There's a picture on the internet of a car being lifted out of a CRL airport parking by crane, having had all its wheels stolen. Funny for most, not great for the people whose car it was. CRL's location so close to Charleroi certainly doesn't help. In the most recent example of CRL mayhem, the entire airport staff went on a 2 day wildcat strike, shutting down the entire airport for a full 2 days, causing significant inconvenience, cost and distress to some 60,000 passengers. CRL is the incarnation of Wallonia at its worst. They should shut it down and build a fishing pond in its place.

“Very poor customer service”

"Worst airport I've ever been"

Not Verified | Worst airport I've ever been. No appropriate space for waiting or sitting, everybody was standing around at the gates, there's nowhere else to go, super crowded. No toilet paper in the few toilets they have.

"It was uncomfortable"

✅ Trip Verified | I had my period during the departure and didn't have sanitary paper with me. My departure was from Terminal 2 and after entering it there was no place where I could get it. It is important that such things as sanitarny paper or diaper for babies are available to buy on an airport. It should be available in the toilet, or in one of the shops. I had to ask several women which were also waiting for a plane whether they have sanitary paper. It was uncomfortable. I found sanitary paper, cause one of the women had it, but I could be less fortunate.

“Access to the airport was very difficult”

Not Verified | Access to the airport was very difficult on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 due to asphalt work. Signage or diversion to the airport via alternative roads was very poorly indicated. I think this is a very bad thing for such an international airport!

"make money out of everything"

✅ Trip Verified | Do not know even how to put into words how bad this airport works. They make money out of everything, starting from the bus, two way trip 40€ per person. The bus takes 1h to get there, and there is no other official way of bringing people here. Taxi collect if could be another option paying 15€. The infrastructures of the airport are poor, are not well maintained. The most impacting this is that we have to pat 1€ for the toilettes even when you get out of the plane and you re still in the passengers area just right before arrivals. Entrance to the toilette and exit has only one door lathe, so people have to wait, even if you re paying for the service. Ticket flixbus can only be paid by card. Although I try to avoid it as much as I can, sometimes cannot go to Zaventem because flights are not available and have to come here instead.

“poor quality of services”

Not Verified | Extremely poor quality of services, if non existent at all. My family and I had to wait at the luggage belt for more than an hour after arrival from EU. There was no assistant or supervisor around. I have been flying from/to Brussels Charleroi airport for years and it is becoming worse and worse. The premises are dirty, the toilets are filthy, with a few of them not flushing. What is audacious is the fact that one has to pay 1 EUR to be able to use them. In addition, there are no trolleys (there have never been) to help travellers carry their heavy and voluminous luggage to the parking. Overall, the worst airport. What a waste of energy and time.

Not Verified | Queue 3 hours long for non EU. Staff with can I help you couldn’t care less. Woman I was with was nervous about her transported dogs and asked to go through. When no help she took pictures of the useless customer service staff who said “not my dogs not my problem”, they arrested her for taking pictures of the useless staff. This airport has been terrible for years, how does this continue. Outrageous, I’ll never use that airport ever again.
