Traveled to Girona with Ryanair. If what you want of an airport is somewhere you can check-in without hassle spend less than 5 minutes going through security have a good cooked breakfast and get on your plane then Bristol at 0800 on a Tuesday morning is just that. Parked as ever with 'DellBoy's parking' and bussed to the terminal. Return from Girona arriving 1930 on a Friday 5 minutes through immigration picked up by DellBoy and off home. Not bad.

This once pleasant airport is now a shopping centre with scant regard with the fact that we're to catch a plane. First the plus queuing for security is usually good or excellent. General seating is poor. They have recently stopped announcing departures which is lazy beyond belief. They've allowed WHSmith to ask for boarding cards in spite of the fact it is nothing to do with them where you're travelling and certainly not a requirement. They charge for pick up/ drop off which is just greedy. Overall the impression you get is that the wallet is more important than you are and it is no pleasure to fly from Bristol.

I fly every week from this awful airport and have to say it gets worse every time. The security staff have no regard for passengers. My last trip involved a security attendant calling me out! This was because I had put my bag in the tray provided in order for it to be x-rayed I assumed all was ok for me to proceed until he looked at me rather aggressively and said "get your bag out of the tray"! The parking is dire the toilets are dire the staff are dire too! I have been traveling out of Bristol for some 3 years now and it gets worse every time. The border control staff are the same as the security staff pedantic and confrontational with their attitude! I only wish Cardiff Airport would have Easyjet or Ryanair operating out of it!

This airport is a disgrace. I'd rather travel another 3 hours to Gatwick rather than have to tolerate this incompetence. Hopefully I'll never have to come here again. Herded into gate with no seats an hour before due the conveyer belt at check in broke down and some surly security guard was over officious and extremely unpleasant.

A terrible design up and down stairs a long concourse no lifts or staff to help. Families with young children in pushchairs and elderly people fond it very difficult. The worst airport I have used and staff could use some lessons in friendliness.

Flew from BRS - EFL on Thursday 29 May 2014. Parked on site at the airport in long stay opposite the departures doors no queue at check-in no queue at security. Was all clean inside departures 30 minutes free wifi a few shops and bars and the benefit of an outdoor smoking area after security! Overall Bristol airport is great some people complain about the 10 minute max walk to the furthest departure gates all I can say to that is try Heathrow Gatwick or Birmingham and the walks are far longer! My only down point is the service in some of the shops was a bit lacklustre but the bar staff were excellent.

I don't usually write bad reviews I'm not fussy and don't let things get to me. However I won't be flying from Bristol again. We had to check in at 5am for a 7am flight. The queue to check in was incredibly slow moving and we stood in it until 6am. Told that our flight was boarding which I queried but was told again that it was. So we walked to the boarding gate (a long walk - I can't see why a newish airport should be so badly designed and without travelators). When we got to departures we went straight to the gate as I thought that's what we had to do although I'd previously planned to buy some water and a newspaper and have a coffee. We went through the checks at the boarding gate and then stood there again in a queue until we were allowed on the plane at around 7am (late - it seems they had "mislaid" the crew). Once on board there were no hot drinks as they hadn't been loaded. I'm telling everyone to avoid Bristol Airport!

My colleagues and I regularly use most UK airports through our business. Our general consensus is the Bristol is possibly the UK's worst airport. Here's why: The airport's poor design (requiring buses for many boardings) leads to overcrowding in departures worsened by the amount of space used up by the disproportionate duty free shops. Facilities are no way near up to demand with constant queues for the toilets and the Soho Coffee outlet. Example: 15 minutes to get to the from of the queue on 3rd June 2014. The use of Cobus buses for boarding is fine for a Spanish holiday airport but in the UK it's no good. Example: on 6th May 2014 it took me 35 minutes from going through the gate to boarding EZY401 - mostly spent stood on a packed Cobus bus. With 5 minutes in steady rain after getting off the bus. Summary: Bristol has all the inefficiency of a small-town holiday airport with none of the charm.

I have concerns about the checking of luggage at this airport. Something in my hand baggage attracted the attention of the scanning official. My bag was searched and a can of deodorant confiscated because it was 150ml container. Rather petty but it was my I guess my fault. However he was so pleased with his discovery that he failed to detect other unseparated bottles of toiletries that I'd frankly forgotten about from a previous trip. He missed my partner's liquids completely. What is the point of the baggage search? It should be strictly security related not pedantic and cursory.

Flying from Bristol Airport and dressed smartly to meet our friends in Toulouse. The weather was awful a heavy downpour of rain and we were required to walk to the plane from the Terminal then climb the boarding steps and take our place in the queue and at no time were we protected from the elements. Soaked to the skin we had to endure the flight sat in our saturated clothes. No apology from the staff at the airport or from the cabin crew. I hope we never have to fly from Bristol Airport again when the weather is so unfriendly. I sought an apology from the company responsible for providing this appalling service but they appear to be totally uninterested in the customers comforts. I will avoid Bristol Airport whenever possible.
