Bordeaux Airport

We were with Easyjet and had to depart via the Billi terminal. This is a shed with very basic check-in procedures no conveyor belt at the desk so you have to drag your luggage across the hall to a belt and queue again. Then another queue for the hand luggage check again very basic. Forget eating here unless you are desperate. The lounge area is small limited seating very untidy. Shopping is limited so don't leave anything to the last minute. When the departure desk opened more queuing there were no seats and after being checked onto the flight we had to queue again in a horribly crowded area. Avoid if you can!

Well a lot of people agree Bordeaux Billi Terminal is dreadful and there are many derogatory words used to describe it. I agree with most of what has been said. The question is who was involved in its planning and design i.e. who should take the blame? Is it purely the Bordeaux airport authority or did any of the low cost airlines become involved in it's concept and thus became implicated in any criticism? Does anyone have an answer? For me I will avoid Bordeaux airport completely and fly from the far superior Toulouse airport or from Bergerac. I would vote that Billi should be demolished like many others.

Astonishing that nothing has been done in five years to improve the joke that is the Billi terminal at Bordeaux. The most humiliating thing is the scramble for plastic trays before security and the bizarre shuffle along Formica topped tables. Humping bags from check in to baggage chute is strange too. The building has been designed on similar lines to a battery poultry unit but the construction is less sophisticated. There is a reasonable amount of choice in the nearby regions including the pleasant airport at Limoges. Billi deserves to have no customers at all.

Flew from here with easyJet to LGW and have to say it is a terrible terminal which should be demolished. Very very overcrowded dirty nowhere near enough seating only positive was the staff are very polite especially security staff who were very friendly. Shame about the actual building truthfully needs demolishing!

Billi the airport part for low cost flights (Ryanair Easyjet) is of unacceptable simplicity. Though newly built it is far too small for the many passengers no sufficient seats poor climatisation no windows noisy. You get the feeling of being confined. What happens in case of fire? Passengers have to assemble in a far too small area before their flight is being called up to assigned gate.

Avoid this place-it looks like an abattoir from the outside. Inside the cattle theme continues as you are herded around like farm animals particularly at the gate where you have to wait in a sort of holding pen rather than being allowed to sit down. The queues were awful. The bag drop was awful. There was not enough space in the departure lounge. Sandwiches cost 6 Euros a coke 7 Euros. Worst of all were photographs of groups of people around the place wearing T shirts spelling out BILLI - as if they had something to be proud of! They couldn't even bring themselves to give it a proper name like 'terminal 2'. The only good thing I can say about it was that it made the easyjet flight seem luxurious. I will do my best to avoid this airport in the future - particularly if I have kids with me.

The Billi terminal is a joke. Passengers should not be treated like animals. Even though it's low cost people are still paying and the lack of facilities in this terminal is incredible. The authorities and the Mayor who took such drastic steps to rejuvenate this city should scrap this terminal altogether. This is the disgrace of Bordeaux and to think this is the place where passengers are welcomed into the city!

Billi Airport lets the whole of Bordeaux down. It is a wonderful city in all other respects. Had to stand for one hour after passing passport control due to no seats!

Very disappointed to observe that nothing has changed for 3 years. My experience started when I entered the airport by hire car and could not find the signs for the drop-off point. Nothing of the sort. I had to leave the airport via 'autres directions' and loop round a perimeter road and eventually using guesswork find the Europcar drop-off point. The other disappointment was my wife and I having to lug bags ourselves from the check-in point to another point for them to be X-ray scanned. That was a first for me having travelled around the globe for many years. Very primitive for a 21st-century airport in modern France! Another annoyance was when a tin of 'foie gras' was confiscated by security staff as it did not have a label. Then I went to the refreshment kiosk to buy a soft drink. A can of Coke was priced at 2.40 Euros about 4 times the price in your average supermarket! Profiteering at its ultimate an absolute disgrace! Many companies are offering their services at this airport so why don't they do something about it? Needless to say I will not be using Bordeaux Airport ever again and would urge others not to go anywhere near it.

Bordeaux is our nearest airport and Gatwick is our usual return destination. So we have a choice of British Airways or Easyjet. The BA flights times are not great Easyjet's are better. Depending what offers are on the prices are often comparable. Unfortunately I took an Easyjet flight and had the extreme displeasure of using the Billi terminal. A cattle-shed basically - although under EU directives I don't think you are actually allowed to treat cattle as they do in the Billi terminal. The length of the queue to check-in was dire. Then queue number 2 is joined to deposit luggage (for which I paid you to handle for me Easyjet) at the scanner while some idle layabout sits and watches. Indeed he only got animated when a surfer dude put his board through and it gets to the right angle turn at the end of the belt. Anything over a standard suitcase is going to get stuck. (There is an oversize luggage belt back in Hall A). Then I can only echo the waiting with 6 seats available. Easyjet what have you done? I presume this cattle shed is to reduce costs that is Bordeaux Airport charges them less to handle the planes luggage etc. It is a bad mistake. It is dreadful. I am afraid you have now driven me to British Airways. I expect to check-in my bag and see it again in London. What next? I have to go out and load it on the plane too? Bordeaux is a nice little regional airport perfectly equipped.
