Not Verified | Horrible airport. Arrived on Friday afternoon. All 5 securities were open but each had only 1-2 lanes open. Their system estimated 20 minutes waiting time. In the end it was 1h 15 mins. After the security two closest toilets were closed, without proper signs so people walked to the toilet corridor, entered the toiled and then realised that its closed. Airport was packed. Also the restaurant area is a joke - curry wurst, horrible pizza and asian. Only fast food.

✅ Trip Verified | A truly terrible airport. Badly designed bandage scanning creates massive queues that no-one cares about. Passport control is pointlessly aggressive and time consuming. The lounges are placed the longest possible walk from the gates. The only available food at 0600 was fish and chips or pizza. The lights had broken. And the boarding was almost comically chaotic. Boarding everyone, all at once, with no priority, and then make everyone stand on a ramp for 10 minutes. What a waste of a chance to create a great new airport

✅ Trip Verified | In 40 years of air travel, this is the worst airport I've ever experienced! On 20 September, it took 65 minutes to clear security. Meanwhile, there were several un-staffed security gates. All 5 times I've flown out of BER, it has taken at least an hour to get through security. There are always desperate, angry passengers elbowing through the crowded lines, trying to get to the front to avoid missing their flight. Airport staff are also sometimes rude, or just unhelpful. On 20 Sept, our flight was delayed, but there was NO information posted and no staff around to explain what was happening. The check-in and security areas are poorly organized, so it is confusing when trying to find the right gate. The extra 10 years it took to build the airport did not help them get it right. I wish they would re-open Tegel!

✅ Trip Verified | Worst airport and treatment of travelers I have ever experienced. No one knew what to do, and clearly they did not want to contribute to solve any of the problems. After 2h30 of security control (no check in, just cabin baggage) I lost my flight. They did not care, people were telling the staff but they were not caring. Ended up spending 600 for a flight they after, after a miserable night at their installations. Obviously, no one came to try to alleviate our pain. A shame for a city like Berlin. I wish this airport would have never be opened.

✅ Trip Verified | Massive passport control queues for both arrival and departure. Nearly missed my flight and will never come to this airport again. If they fix this then staff are friendly and Berlin itself is a great city to visit

✅ Trip Verified | Check in opened less than 2h before the flight. The check in lady had no idea to which city she is checking in people. Told that my seat is not paid, although it was. Although I already had a boarding pass with the seat (needed to check in baby stroller). Went the the closest gate (alone with the baby), but was sent all the way to the opposite side of the airport, where the security for families is. Security for families was super slow, lot of people. We were the first to check in the moment the check-in started to work and had zero relax time in the tax free. Barely managed to get to WC. There was no staff to unload the baggage for the airplane, no push tractor for the plane to go the take off. Waited more than 2 h in the plane. Super understaffed and super unpolite staff in the airport. Shame on Germany, really surprised and disappointed. Worst airport experience ever!

✅ Trip Verified | September 16, 2022; after 45 min of wait in the security, I was 5 min late before the gate was closed for my flight. Berlin airport is far, short staffed at security, conveyer belts didn’t work, rude personnel at gate, lack of facilities and shops. What a crazy airport, haven’t met anything worse in any other airport.

✅ Trip Verified | Incredible badly managed airport! Queueing time of more than 45minutes with relatively little frequentation... Downright misery... Half of the security checks are not even staffed while people literally stand hundreds of meters in line

Not Verified | The queue to get to Security took almost 90 minutes and stretched for what must have been a kilometer. Been travelling for 40 years, and this was, by far, the worst experience I have ever had. Operations management should be replaced ASAP.
