✅ Trip Verified | This airport is the worst I’ve encountered in all my years travelling. The security is absolutely shocking, we arrived two and a half hours early for our flight and spent over two hours trying to clear security. There were loads of other travellers mentioning that it was certain they’d miss their flights. Security are well aware of the issues and seem to revel in others misery. Takes at least 5 minutes per person to go through and the queue was snaking around the building. The only reason we made our flight was because it was delayed for 15 minutes, never been so happy to see my aircraft not leave on time. People in desperation, start to push in and we were made to feel obliged to potentially miss our flight by letting others jump the queue by German locals. Appalling airport, if you do have to go via this airport make sure you turn up at least three hours before your flight and be prepared for a very long wait.

✅ Trip Verified | Shame! I never experienced such a bad service anywhere in the world. The airport is a nightmare! There is never enough staff working, literally hours of waiting. Even priority line is not fast. Travelers have to help each other as everyone is lost and connected in this stressful experience. A new airport with no proper service starting with check in, clean toilets, food that is eatable, places to sit and proper access to information let’s even don’t mention shops, working lounges or architecture.

✅ Trip Verified | Nightmare. Not enough seating, no proper food, passengers sit on floors like kettle, ridiculous opening hours of the shops and “cafes”, no choice of food, no shopping at all and again: absolutely no where to sit. What’s going on with Germany? With the capital?

✅ Trip Verified | The worst airport ever. Coming to this place is just to suffer from lots of stress! Long queues for more than 70 minutes, very unfriendly staff, always risking to lose flights and delayed baggage for more than two hours! It’s a shame it took 20 years to build this disaster. This is just a nightmare, German shouldn’t be proud of this airport at all! Airport management should be changed right away!

✅ Trip Verified | Worst airport I’ve ever been to in my life. Staff shortages on a Friday. Queue for security is outrageously slow inefficient. Pathways convoluted. and to top it off I miss my connecting cause there’s not enough staff to load bags into the plane. Don’t want to ever come to Berlin cause of this honestly. Not worth it

Not Verified | Absolutely the worst airport I have ever seen. Just every aspect. Getting there. Checking in is ok, but then security check is the most sub optimized process I have ever seen. Around 10 minutes per person. It is laughable. No good seating. Immense distances.

✅ Trip Verified | What a stressful day we had yesterday at this airport! There were so many people lining up to get through security and only one person checking the baggage. Just as people got to the front of the line, staff would move the barrier and close you in and waive another lot of people through. The procedure seemed to be designed to cause maximum stress and ensure people missed their flights. We would have missed ours had it not been late due to bad weather. As others have said, the airport is badly designed - no logic whatsoever to the layout. It was a nightmare and I’d avoid it if you can.

Not Verified | Worst airport I've ever been to! waiting for the security checks so long that they made me miss the plane even though I had arrived 2 hours before my flight. Nobody wants to help you, everyone treats you badly, it is clear that it is an airport that does not work, the staff is stressed, very serious, no kindness. Unbelievable

Not Verified | My daughter is right now at the airport and what she tells me makes me sure to avoid this airport by any means. First of all the airport is ice cold and there are not enough chairs to sit on. Check-in opens only 2 hours before departure, no self-service on her flight. And the person at the counter was very impolite if not directly rude. After check-inn there is a long que about 90 minutes to security, which leaves you only 30 minutes to reach the gate which probably is far away regarding what I have read here. I really hope she makes it after a long-haul flight and having been forced to wait 6 hours before the check inn opens! How come a new airport can be such a mess?
