Belgrade Airport customer review

(Russian Federation)

At arrival passport control and luggage delivery doesn't take longer than 10-15 minutes. Compact airport with easy to follow signage and layout. At departure level check in counters well staffed and provide quick and efficient service. Duty free shops are to be avoided since liquor and cosmetics items cost more than in city stores. A1 to A6 gates recently renewed and look very bright and modern. New reconstructed Business lounge is very spacious and provides a good selection of local / import beverages and a well stocked hot buffet is a nice touch. The transit area needs improvement and relocation since it is hidden away from general terminal traffic. Overall good improvements made; the current facility looks much brighter and better than what it 4-5 years ago!

Clean and well-organised airport though the definitive downside being the excessive security measures. For a frequent traveller only at BEG do I have things confiscated almost every time I fly with not one of the agents or airport staff willing to find a solution. Last time I had 2kg of honey thrown away as it was considered as a dangerous substance by security staff. Just because of those attitudes and the hefty passenger taxes (20 EUR per ticket) I'll avoid flying out of Belgrade in the future.

The airport check-in has greatly improved and the process is quick. The airport does need new restrooms in arrival area. This is not a luxury airport it is simple and basic. Taxis try to take advantage of travelers in all airports so upon arrival just call for a taxi to meet you outside.

Arrived from Luton. Long queue at immigration and a long wait for luggage to arrive. Had plenty of time to browse the leaflets at the tourist information desk while waiting. In order to get to the city centre I took public bus number 72 which leaves from the upper level of the terminal and only costs 120 Din.

Flight cancelled due to technical problem employees barely helped customer service wasn't good. It was +40 outside and the air conditioner did not work in the airport. I went in search of a bottle of water and walked for mile across the airport but all stores were closed and there were no facilities around. Facilities and shops are poor for a long wait.

Clean and well-designed airport. It does show age here and there but overall is well- maintained and convenient on both departure and arrival. Passport control did not take long luggage arrived extremely quickly but to be fair it seems only two flights had arrived simultaneously at that time (including mine). On departure check in was very quick gate easy to find. the only definite improvement that could've made things better would be either enlarging the waiting area in front of the gate or adding some facilities such as vending machine. There was a 2nd (and visibly less strict) security check at the entrace to the boarding gate waiting area which probably can be abolished and the waiting area joined to the main terminal area. Aircraft arrival/departure taxi times are very short since the airfield has a relatively simple layout.

I find it very disturbing that after a long flight the first thing you see is the very grumpy face of the passport checking officer who cannot even be bothered to say hello. As far as departures go if you do not have a few euros to slip into the officers hand you are not going to get far. I understand that there is not enough funds to make the airport up to the European standards but a smile and good customer service will get you much further.

Belgrade Airport customer review

Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport is getting better slowly but surely. Recent positive changes I noticed are that smoking is banned throughout the terminals except small designated area airside near gate A5 if I remember. Also I saw some WIFI points airside as well. More and more shops are added day by day but lack of proper decent restaurant is obvious thou they recently opened a self service one near A4 which seems really nice. Departure terminal 2 and arrival hall look spacious bright and modern. What needs urgent renovation are transfer desk and airside paths and waiting rooms all the way from A1-A8 as they were used even during the renovation process thus look really worn and do not match the rest of the renovated terminal 2.

Belgrade Airport customer review

I have used Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport three times so far and satisfied with it. Maybe my expectations were low to start with but the airport is clean spacious (for its size) and the staff is friendly. What I dont like is lack of a real restaurant with the real menu. From what I understand they are planing further expansion and adding more 'activities'.

Having no other Intl airport I arrive and depart through Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport (Nikola Tesla Intl. Airport). I would restrict my comments to taxis. It is way too bad even for us Serbs and I can only imagine how it is for foreigners. many times while waiting for a friend to pick me I had to guide a foreigner through the process to avoid being ripped off by semi-legal taxi drivers. To avoid being ripped off for foreigners it is maybe the best to either have someone pick you or to call national taxi to pick you as soon as you land so that they can arrive from the city by the time you pick your baggage.
