✅ Trip Verified | A disaster of discourtesy. 75 minutes to clear passport control off a flight from within the Schengen area (Spain). Penned into a low-ceiling tunnel with no ventilation for the entire time with 200+ passengers. Zero regard for safety for anyone. All the time announcing apologies for slowness when 2 of the 4 passport checking desks were not even open. Hardly a sincere apology. The incompetence astounding all round and the airport itself is really unclean too.

"Dire airport services"

✅ Trip Verified | Dire airport services. There was one café choice which had some truly awful choices for food which were hours old. The chicken couscous salad was disgusting. I've seen third world countries with better food choices. The other café Columbus was closed so only choice for hot food is now onboard (fingers crossed) . All stores closed besides duty free. Very disappointing.

"lately it’s been an absolute catastrophe"

Not Verified | I used to think highly of this airport, but lately it’s been an absolute catastrophe. The line for security check extended until the check in hall (and the Swiss sector was closed entirely), it was one big chaos that the staff couldn’t handle which created a very unprofessional atmosphere. I missed my flight even though I was at the airport 1.5 hours in advance - already checked in and without luggage. I booked a new flight very early the next morning, but when I arrived it was the same all over again. The staff was not helpful and indicated everyone was in the same situation and multiple people standing close to me missed their flight due to the poor organisation, the staff at the security check took their time and said it was not their problem that my flight was leaving.

"The airport is a complete mess"

✅ Trip Verified | The airport is a complete mess. When I arrived, people were walking in some sort of queue that was disorganized and it had no signage as to which line you should follow. The departure was even worse. I arrived at the airport 3 and a half hours before my flight and I had no time to eat because the check in was slow and unorganised. I was travelling to London and we were sent to different desk that was closed with no information not someone to ask to. Definitely one of the worst airports I have ever travelled to and from and one that I would strongly recommend to avoid if possible.

"This airport has no covid safety plans at arrivals"

Not Verified | This airport has no covid safety plans at arrivals (or at least none that is visible). People were packed together (sometimes shoulder to shoulder), I saw at least 30 adults without a mask on, 5 people entered the no-entry customs door to the restricted part of the airport, and no airport personnel checked anything. Both security and covid measures are treated like a joke. If I get covid, I know where I got it from! Besides hundred of people packed tightly together, the luggage arrived with a 45 min. delay and the car line to get into the "express parking" lot was 10min. long. The airport had some lame announcements about "we are sorry for the delay," but then they refused to cover the extra parking expenses because of their own incompetence!

"Very disappointing"

✅ Trip Verified | This is the only airport I have been through where I could not get drinking water for my flask. I was told at Basel airport that I must buy it. Later, at gate 22, I saw a good discount on gin so bought a bottle to take home (not as a substitute for the water!) The discount wasn’t applied so I did not benefit in any way. I accept that I should have checked but don’t they know their job there? Insufficient seating and a change of departure gate were inconvenient. Very disappointing.

✅ Trip Verified | Unfortunately never suppose that people can be treated with such rudeness in an airport. I started my journey passing the control but had problems getting my e-ticket on my mobile. The person attending the queue was impatient and so I left the queue to let other passengers with a ticket to pass. 15 minutes later, I got my e-ticket and went again to the queue. This time I gave my mobile and the man said, luche, lumiere.. I do know what is lumiere but was not understanding the context, he started raising his voice tone and then I understood that he wanted the screen brighter, with a lot of impatience and showing it, he scanned the mobile in the computer and everything went right. Than I pass the control and had to have my hands scanned and legs, which I think is all right for security reasons, but without apparent motive the lady scanning me asked me if I was Portuguese and I said yes. After that she did not continue the conversation and I thought that that question did not have any meaning regarding security purposes. My suggestion is: give more training and education to people who are dealing with public. It is a shame to see this kind of behaviour in a supposed developed country.

Not Verified | This airport is in need of some serious improvements, my whole experience was unimpressive. Sign posting there can be confusing and reduced queue times should be worked on. Thank you as well to the 'kind staff' as well for confiscating my son's plastic toy police set that he got for his birthday the day before and leaving him in complete distress and a puddle of tears, a round of applause to you and your inconsiderate demeanor! I can definitely say that this was the first and last time I will be seeing these inconsiderate baffoons and would rather not travel than have to go through there again. First impressions count and it was not good at all.

✅ Trip Verified | Also no clue why flying from Brussels to Basels requires pasport inspection. Belgium, Switzerland and France are Schengen members? Flying Brussels - Zürich, Brussels-Geneva does not require silly time eating passport control. Today took 30 minutes. Feels like arriving in USA. Stupid airport. Plane stops in front of terminal, still everything needs to be squeezed on an overloaded bus to drive 2 minutes and then still walk a whole distance throught the terminal.
