Atlanta Hartsfield Airport

Leaving for Argentina - all experiences very good. Returning - horrible! CBP personnel rude barking orders screaming at arriving passengers conspicuously impatient with travelers whose first language is not English. Long slow-moving lines inadequate staffing. TSA personnel also very rude. TSA lines for arriving passengers about to transfer are not equipped for Pre-Check. Airport itself is clean has many and high-quality shops and easy (via "Plane Train") to transfer among concourses. My recommendation "Yes" for airport is based on two thoughts: (1) it's excellent for domestic travel and (2) CBP and TSA personnel in my experience are just as nasty at all other US airports.

The newish international terminal is a revelation. Fully staffed immigration desks and swift baggage meant that I was looking for a cab within 15 minutes of getting off the plane. A first in the USA! Swift check in (BA) and security on the way back too with a very smart range of shops after security. However the terminal is a bus ride from car rental or the domestic terminal and the inter terminal shuttle is only for checked in passengers.

I find it easy to navigate and it has plenty of shops and eateries. This time was no different. Though there was a queue at immigration the whole process including rechecking my bag and getting to the next terminal took no more than an hour.

I travelled the last month through this airport and found it convenient and very well organized compared to Paris CDG airport. The shuttle connecting the different part of the terminal is very good and fast. I went 3 times to Atlanta airport and I can criticise the huge queue at the customs. They should fit some new counter customs.

One person checking everyone's documents at the screening checkpoint in the morning. Really? TSA attitude was poor. They seem to forget they work for the citizens. Not enough places to plug in phones and laptops. Pricey wifi. Rude and intimidating airport employees. Many seem to be more concerned with talking to co-workers rather than doing their jobs. Very long walks. Lots of elderly were complaining and having a difficult time walking and schlepping bags. Why not offer continuous mini-tram rides pulled by golf carts up and down each concourse. Seems to me that would be a cheap and welcomed PR move. Management ought to have "personal shoppers" scrutinizing employees and weeding out those who don't care enough to perform well. On a positive note: We enjoyed the Varsity and Chick-fil-A during delays.

I was in transit Costa Rica to Europe and back in July and August. Outward bound all went well security staff pleasant and efficient a good restaurant and adequate shopping. Homeward bound in terminal E it was very different. Rude and abusive security staff no decent restaurant a duty free both being refurbished and with very little stock and the waiting area grubby and ill lit.

It is my understanding that when you travel to the US issues like Homeland Security safety order and Information to all travelers should be the number one thing. That's why I give the new Atlanta International Airport 3 stars! If you are an International traveler allow yourself proper timing when flying international this will help in your future travels. Atlanta is a busy airport by nature and the city of Atlanta and US Customs are always trying to provide the most courteous experience to all travelers. It is also known that when you arrive to Atlanta from anywhere in the World and you want to remain in Atlanta even with the new Terminal "F" International experience travelers have to hump a long 15-20 min walk to stay in Atlanta. There is not an established way to alleviate the discomfort of walking with your bags from Terminal "E" to the new Maynard H Jackson Terminal "that's the price to pay to stay in a City where crime trash and homeless people are everywhere. If you are traveling Domestic there are no problems other than traveler safety like TSA.

Extremely long lines clearing immigration today - 1.5 hrs - coupled with long lines are rude service personnel and inadequate ventilation yes this is the new facility! What an embarrassment to our city for the arriving international passengers.

Just traveled to and from Florida through ATL I am disabled and my report includes he usual items: airport dirty announcements garbled and unprofessional gates very far apart often by train. As a disabled person: there was an uncertain wait for a chair at each point Scariest was drop off our rental car and Enterprise left us off on a traffic island by an elevator a skycap took me to airline; they took me through security to plane. Transport chairs were old heavy iron scuffed and filthy. Restrooms not accessible. Exhausting.

Terminal E. Well it's Atlanta so expect slow uninspired service from everyone. Aim low they might hit your expectations. The terminal is hot stuffy and suffers from a lack of ventilation.
