✅ Trip Verified | This airport is incapable of managing a large group of passengers. I needed to queue just to take the stairs to the xray section, followed by another queue to get xray check. By the time it finished, the plane had took off. I arrived ca. 2h before departure, yet I still missed the flights and paid for extra cost to book the next day flights and hotel. So, avoid if you can, otherwise arrive at least 3h early.

Not Verified | Schiphol has numerous eGates, automatic self-service border checkpoints. It is easy to cross the border faster than with a manual inspection because you scan your own passport. YET, most of the time 50% or more of these are out of service generating long queues. How can this be? It is extremely ineffective and needs to be fixed! Otherwise, Schiphol is definitely one of the better European airports.

✅ Trip Verified | Small airport for such a passenger volume. Dirty, lack of toilets, no healthy food options, low ceiling - which makes you feel a bit claustrophobic. Lack of kids friendly spaces. If it weren't for plenty of KLM direct routes I would definitely avoid this wanna be airport.

"Very disturbing experience"

✅ Trip Verified | First, I would like to say my travel from Hartsfield Atlanta Airport to Amsterdam on KLM was quite amazing! The airport staff and flight attendants were very attentive and just a pure pleasure of encounter. My short stay in Amsterdam was also a delight. The issues started as soon as I arrived at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport departure boarding gate. The flight was scheduled to depart 07:55 am (Delta Airline) KLM. My flight mate and I arrived at the gate 06:45 am and took a seat in the waiting area. Suddenly we hear the voice of a gentleman gate attendant call our names to come to the counter Surprised as to his abrasive overtones we immediately approached to counter to share our presence and was told in a rude manner "Iin Amsterdam you make yourself known when called ". It was at that point my flight mate spoke out and told him that we were sitting down waiting and never heard them call us prior to now. At this point, my flight mate appeared extremely disturbed at how we are being spoken to. As our names appeared on the screen as #1 & #4, funny, we were basically the last to group to board. My flight mate approached the counter, and another gate attendant abruptly told her 3x "IN AMSTERDAM WE DO THINGS DIFFERENTLY", so never mind what the screen says, don't come to the counter until you are called. As I was motioned to approach and show my boarding pass, out of nowhere another woman claiming to be from Security, flagged me for a final security search and pat down. The security lady asked me to remove my shoes, place my bags on this counter and directed me to open my luggage. Then she proceeded to remove my laptop computer and as flipped it around to look at all angles, she then thought it was necessary to open it.and a piece of screen boarder plastic broke off and was laying on the keyboard. Not knowing if I saw her, she then closed the computer, then lifted it again turning it over and looking at the bottom and out of nowhere, asked if I was accusing her of breaking the computer. Another security staff person was asking if I wanted to sue them. They called 3 manager/supervisors to come to the scene to document my computer and any statements. It took everything in me to remain calm and silent while they communicated in their language. When I stated I had no intentions of suing anyone or leaving my computer behind, I was suddenly asked to pack up my belongings and I was clear to board. What was all that for? Were they trying to make me miss the flight? Did they want the computer? Very disturbing experience.

Not Verified | I found to my cost that this is a 'silent' airport, so no passenger announcements are made. As a result, I missed my (delayed) connection. There were quite a few flights cancelled on that particular day and I was appalled by the treatment of passengers by the KLM staff and by the information given to passengers.

"wheelchair co-ordinator was so rude"

Not Verified | I am currently at the airport waiting for my connecting flight. We flew KLM from Toronto to Amsterdam and had a beautiful experience in the flight, amazing crew and excellent service. The whole experience was shattered when we approached the lady for wheelchair assistance. The wheelchair co-ordinator was so rude to not one but all the senior citizens waiting for their wheelchair. I confronted her and asked her as to why was she so rude and her response was "who you talking to do you know?, I am the co-ordinator". I told her to humble down and talk respectfully but she continued being rude to an extent that she kept mocking me and frantically moving around passengers. Seeing her behaviour other elderly passengers started confronting her and soon there was chaos. Seeing this the crew who was with us on flight came up to me and said sorry for her behaviour and one air hostess even mentioned that please do not ruin your fun experience due to her and they helped us with the process. Even after seeing all this she did not apologize but showed more attitude and walked away.

"Really long queues"

Over 2.5 hours to get through the queue. Only 2 booths open out of 8 available. Highly recommend NOT coming to this airport if you can avoid.
