✅ Trip Verified | Honestly the worst airline I’ve ever flown with. Terrible customer services, illogical strict regulation even for a low budget airline, but above all constantly, always, no matter what LATE. I sincerely believe I have never flown on time with them. Last time Hanoi HCMC, the flight was delayed 4 times…the only good thing I can say about them is that cabin staff uniforms are smooth.

✅ Trip Verified | A very disappointing experience with VietJet Airways from Taipei to Bangkok. Being denied a glass of water on a 4-hour flight, especially when your wife wasn't feeling well, must have been frustrating, especially since you had only card payment available and no local currency. It's understandable to expect at least basic services like water after purchasing a ticket, and it's unfortunate that the airline couldn't accommodate the request. This kind of service definitely leaves a negative impression.

✅ Trip Verified | As always Vietjet has been a huge let down. Every flight I have ever used with them has been delayed minimum 30 minutes. Do not book night flights because they will push your flight 2-3 times to a later flight because they can’t get enough people on an earlier flight. The help desks always give a sad excuse as to why it’s been delayed and aren’t a good help at all. Very unorganized and terrible experience.

"Very bad experience"

✅ Trip Verified | Very bad experience. I was travelling with my wife and our combined weight of our two backpacks was 20kg. After several minutes trying to find a different solution I had to pay 350.000 dong to check in my bag. I could not pay with card while other people where paying with card in front of me. To complete the experience, once on the plane, they told me my power bank had been removed from my backpack and that I had to lose my flight I wanted to recover it. No additional solution was offered. Terrible experience, I recommend Vietnam Airlines all around. Better customer service and overall experience. Totally worth paying the few dollars more for the flight and have a better experience.

“unprofessional and disrespectful”

✅ Trip Verified | I traveled from Mumbai to Ho Chi Minh City (VJ-884) on September 27, 2024, with my 80-year-old mother. It was our first time flying with VietJet Airlines and experiencing Vietnamese culture. Unfortunately, we encountered a particularly rude male flight attendant. When my mother asked him for water upon boarding, he curtly informed her that it would be served later with the meals. About half an hour later, when the meals began arriving, we received one bottle of water each. My mother requested an extra bottle, which the female flight attendant provided. Shockingly, the male attendant then demanded the extra bottle back, snatching it from my mother’s hand. This behavior was both unprofessional and disrespectful. He could have asked money for the bottle of water rather than snatching it. This encounter left a very negative impression of Vietnamese hospitality. Such behavior is not fitting for the airline industry and reflects poorly on the country. Such an unprofessional airline staff does not fit into hospitality sector as what he did was completely inhumane. If anyone had a similar experience, I’d like to hear how you would react if someone snatched a bottle of water from your mother. I didn’t catch the name of the attendant, but I would recognize him if I saw his picture in the future. VietJet can easily identify him based on the flight details I've share with then on email sent on 7th October 2024. Additionally, I found it bizarre that they required a boarding pass from each passenger before serving meals. My boarding pass was in my bag, and I had to retrieve it, which I’ve never experienced in my many travels. I will not fly with VietJet again and will strongly advise others to be cautious as well.

✅ Trip Verified | We booked our flights to Vietnam through VietJet Air.com. We both paid for E sims for our departure flight and for our return flight (VJ997), we did not receive any information or emails with a QR code for us to be able to use the E sims. Prior to our flight we made several attempts to log on to the online system in Manage my booking, only to be presented with an “Ooop’s error” message. This of course was extremely frustrating. We also attempted to call your Customer Service line, but again had no success with this. We advised this to the Counter staff who knew nothing about the process as they are not VietJet staff only handling crew and therefore could not provide any assistance or advice on how to resolve the issue with our E sims. There was no issue with our contact details as we received all emails with regards to the several changes to our outbound flight VJ900. We then boarded the flight and advised the flight stewards of the situation, and they too could not help. They then advised that they will be putting through a complaint on our behalf, and they also gave us this email address to contact, so we can follow up on the complaint. The meals we did receive after waiting for 7 hours for the flight to take off, having an emergency landing at Ho Chi Minh City due to the Typhoon, were so dried up and not what we ordered and paid for either. We also did not receive any priority check in either that we paid for. We also paid for HOT SEATS extra leg room on the A320 NEO, we never received this, and our seats had been moved forward with NO EXTRA leg room at all, we were in seats 5A and 5B. we tried the seats in front of us and they had plenty of leg room. We advised the flight attendant that we had paid for extra leg room, and he didn’t care at all and all he wanted us to do was take our seats. The ground crew at the check in desk in in Hanoi were extremely rude and non-cooperative. They just kept quoting policy with no customer service at all. We were extremely disappointed with the service that the airline advertised but did NOT supply. There was no empathy at all given to us about our situation on both flights. Your customer service, well that does NOT exist at all, the staff never smiled never said hello or welcomed us on any of the flights, it was as if they really did not want to be there and would rather be out with friends socializing, not at work.

✅ Trip Verified | I used to swear by Vietjet and I am so disappointed with them now. The seats used to have good legroom and are now some of the worst I've ever seen. The service used to be friendly and polite and now just cold and not very efficient whilst overcharging for luggage at the airport. They have become the Ryanair of Asia. Avoid if there are other options.

Not Verified | I took my mother for a vacation trip. I had Vietnam Airlines before, so I wanted to try Viet Jet to see how private airline operates. I really do not have anything good to say about this airline and I tell you why from A to Z. 1. I booked online, however, when I made payment online, the address box for country doesn't have United States. I called them and they told me to pay at an authorized store. They surcharged 5% fee on my total amount. 2. When we arrived at the airport, they stopped us to weight our carry-on bags. I was careful on carry on but who knew they asked us to put all the belongings to weight, way far below to airline standard about carry-on bags. We didn't expect that, therefore, we had to pay for check-in bag just because my kate-spade back bag + carry-on was 1lb over their limit. It cost another 10% of my total price. Moreover, I asked to carry since it's light, but they forced us to get in line for checked bag. I was waiting for 45 minutes to get it done. 3. Next was security check, this was really a nightmare. I put my name carefully, first, middle and last. However, if you have US passport, you know that it shows middle name and first name together. They said that my name was incorrect and asked me to pay $4 to issue a new ticket. I kept running up and down and stressed out because of the time limited for 45 minutes, totally exhausted. 4. Finally, we came to the aircraft by bus. It's so horrible that we had to climb up 2 floors during the summer heat. My most concern was my mom since her leg are weak but had to climb into the plane in a narrow and steep ladder. 5. The plane at that time was only waiting for the last group which was us. It was delayed 45 minutes. 6. The seat was firm, no cushion at all. It was small, old and not in a good shape. The tray was too small to hold on anything. My tray was even broken. 7. Food on the plane was terrible. I really have no good points to recall.

✅ Trip Verified | This is by far the worst airline I've ever been on. I've travelled to numerous destinations, but this airline will undoubtedly find everything to make you pay more. Furthermore, they inform us at the last minute before departure that we must reopen our bags, despite the fact that they could just call us in advance. Also, their employees are disrespectful. Please spend more money and fly with Vietnam Airlines instead. Don't go with this airline.
