"rude and very unprofessional"

Trip Verified | Flew Newark to Boston with United Airlines. The worst experience I have ever had with an airline. Every flight I’ve ever booked with this airline has been delayed due to a late aircraft and every United employee I have encountered has been rude and very unprofessional. I’m very disappointed.

"Avoid this airline"

Trip Verified | St. Louis to Brownsville via Houston. Delayed in St. Louis by an hour and that caused me to miss my flight in Houston. Customer Service had an attitude when trying to get the next flight to where I was going and they made me sit at Houston airport for 8 hours. Finally get to my plane after sitting in Houston for that long and I am standing in line and they had to apparently “drain the lavatory” which then delayed that flight another 30 minutes. Over priced for the kind of service you receive. It is no wonder why Southwest does as well as it does. Avoid this airline at all costs.

"they showed me very good service"

Trip Verified | Flew Atlanta to Denver. After all the negative publicity United Airlines has received, I must call them out for giving me such a great experience! First off, the flight was delayed and I decided to get a snack from a vending machine. It got stuck. One of the pilots and a stewardess helped me get it out without me even asking. I hadn't noticed they were also waiting for the delayed flight. They helped us with our puppy getting used to the plane, and when I got sick, they came quickly with a sick-bag and a cup of ginger-ale. So, they showed me very good service, were very friendly, and went the extra mile.

"employees were unapologetic"

Trip Verified | Columbus to San Francisco via Denver. Don't fly United if you have a service animal. They put me in the middle seat with no where for my animal to sit or stand. So the entire flight she was forced in my lap. Every other airline is extremely accommodating, but United employees were unapologetic and just said next time upgrade pick your seat.

"they always starve me"

Trip Verified | Flew Newark to Seoul via San Francisco. I am a frequent flyer with United. They have my complete profile including food preference as vegetarian. However, they always starve me saying that I haven't notified the airline about my special meal. Crew are always rude and do not make any effort to provide me with suitable food. I am sure they have other food options suitable for vegetarians but they just get away with a sorry! I would never fly United.

"worst airline I have flown"

Trip Verified | Washington to London. The worst airline I have flown. Firstly for a flight of 7-8 hrs the Boeing 757 is a small plane with little or no leg space and cramped up passengers cos seats are 3-3. Thus each time I need to go to washroom both middle seat and isle seat passengers need to get out of their seats too which is really inconvenient to all passengers. Secondly there was no inflight entertainment despite the crew restarting the system several times which is outrageous for a long haul flight. Furthermore, there was no apology from crew until the flight landed in Heathrow where the crew finally apologised and said passengers to go online and get an appreciation voucher from United. This when I did that it gave me a USD100 discount code on any United Airlines with many conditions attached to it, unfortunately I won’t be flying United again at any cost, therefore even this voucher is of no use. On positive side I landed safely and food and drinks was ok for an international flight.

"inflight service is minimum"

Trip Verified | Flew Newark to London Heathrow. United apply the recipe of discount airlines to long flight and this is not going well. Their organisation in Newark airport is chaotic. The entertainment system look like it's from the 90's (Ridiculously small screen and no possibility of movies selection). The inflight service is minimum and/or replaced by paying service. The food is well bellow any standard of what you can expect on a transatlantic flight.

"Could have driven faster"

Trip Verified | Could have driven faster, came from Chicago to Aspen, Aspen to Bozeman but didn't make it to Bozeman until 4.5 hours later after stopping in Great Falls. so glad I woke up at 2am to get there after 2pm. To top it off, now our baggage is broken. Wonderful. Thank you for an awesome trip to remember.

"a terrible experience"

Trip Verified | Do not fly United. My husband and I flew round trip from Tulsa to Los Angeles with a connecting flight in Houston, TX. The trip there wasn't too bad other than the fact that they had t.v,s on the seat in front of you with direct t.v. and a remote control on the armrest. The problem was most of the remotes didn't work, and you couldn't change the channel. It was ridiculous. We didn't mind too much though, because we were more excited for our trip than concerned with our 4 hour flight stuck on one channel we didn't choose. The real problem came during our trip. We were supposed to fly back from LAX at 10 pm on December 31, 2017. We got an email late at night on the 29th, we didn't even see it until the morning of the 30th, saying our flight was changed. Just like that they changed our flight to 12:50am on the 30th. We lost basically a whole day that we had already planned out with relatives with basically no notice because they overbooked the flight. But we went anyway. At the airport almost 30 people were on standby for our flight. Then we were delayed over an hour. Then we flew to Houston, TX for a two hour layover. Then back on a plane to Tulsa. It made for a very long, very angry night. I'd pay an extra $150 a ticket or more before I'd ever fly United again. They do not care about their customers or our plans. This was a terrible experience.

"ridiculous and simply unprofessional"

Trip Verified | San Francisco to San Diego. So ridiculous and simply unprofessional. I have a connecting flight here in San Francisco, I arrived 4 hours before my connection leaves. I looked at a departures board and noticed another United flight left in just an hour. Went to the United customer service desk to see if I could switch. The woman at the counter didn't have the decency to great me with a hello and before I even finished asking my question she told me there was nothing I could change at all. Her response was simply "no changes". I went to the gate and asked if there were seats available, the gate attended said "possibly" then looked at my ticket and informed the contract I signed when booking basic economy forbid me from changing flights. I asked "even if there are empty seats on an earlier flight?" And she said "no changes can be made with this ticket if it were economy I might be able to do something". I'm happy the gate employee at least explained my situation but this is ridiculous. United wanted to charge me another $35 for this trip to be economy. I paid $75 so that's nearly a increase. I understand I bought a cheap ticket, that's why I wasn't even allowed a carry on bag. However, when there's something as simple as putting a passenger, with no carry on or checked luggage, on the same size aircraft going to the same destination and United won't do it. That's ridiculous. It wouldn't cost them a dime more but I wasn't at the right paygrade for the company to care. Basically what I heard from United today was "give me money and I'll give a sh*t about you". Needless to say, they won't be getting my business in the future.
