"It was very unorganized"
P Larson (United States)
Not Verified | New York to Houston. My original flight was supposed to depart at 3:45 p.m. when we get there there is about an hour delay, that hour turns into 2, 3, 4, 5 our flight kept getting pushed back due to weather. I totally understand that the weather is not their fault but there were flights leaving that were going to the same destination so when we tried to get on those they said they were fully booked. The staff were incredibly rude and had no information and I know that weather makes things very difficult but they would tell us completely different things from what everything else was saying. We waited in the customer service line 3 times and the first 2 times they would tell us something and 5 mins later we would get an email saying something else. When our 3:45 flight got pushed to midnight we went Back up to customer service for the 3rd time and waited for 2 hours. The 3rd time we went the man who helped us was extremely helpful and since we had long missed our connecting flight he booked us a flight first class for a flight on Monday which was the best he could do and due to the circumstances was very helpful. We finally found out that our flight had been delayed to 11:30 a.m. the next day (tomorrow) but that everyone had to go to baggage claim because the gates were closing. So there were no hotels and everyone had to sleep in baggage claim. Thankfully for us our family is just a 10 min drive away but there were people there who had been there since 9 In the morning due to a layover with nowhere to stay and no food. It was very unorganized. We lucked out due to having an amazing customer service helper but if we had someone else it could've gone another way.

"Flight delayed multiple times"
S Adam (United States)
✅ Trip Verified | Flight delayed multiple times to the point I was late to my father's wedding. This was constant from purchasing tickets months prior to 30 minutes after our final given take off time. Also asked about switching seats because I'm claustrophobic and they put me in a window seat. Guy at the gate said it was full but a couple hours later (well into the most recent delay) a small family came up and requested to switch to this flight from a later one. They were able to get on and one was put in an aisle seat. Love being lied to on top of being late both for my trip and on the way home.

Mesfin Tsadiku (United States)
Not Verified | My direct flight from Washington DC to Atlanta was cancelled and they gave me a flight that has a connection rout through Newark, NJ for the next day. This flight is now cancelled.we have been waiting 4 hours and there is no further information. I have many things to do in Atlanta, already prepaid, hotel booked and too late to cancel. "excuse after excuse"
Simon Mirren (United States)
✅ Trip Verified | London to Los Angeles. Again plane was delayed from 1.40 in increments of 2 hours as the desk staff came up with excuse after excuse. Mechanical issues that created more mechanics issues. They found the part. Installed it but it just tripped the whole planes power. Really? Do you really think customers are that stupid? Clearly. Basically what they are doing is stalling for time because the flight crew work on legal turn around max times. So next they put us up in hotel - Crown Plaza - because a new plane will arrive for an unscheduled flight time of 9 am. Manage to drag myself up for the 9am flight only to be told the plane has been delayed due to mechanical issues. Now they are flying a crew in from the US to fix the problem. You see the logic problem with this. It’s not even possible! So now they have another plane coming in - they haven’t got any brand new planes. There is no excuse for an airline to be this dreadful. The upside was one great desk worker who was so good. Professional. Calm. I just wanted to hang out with her and while away the time. So here I am again waiting for the next lie.

"Shame on you UA"
Cheryl Cooper (United States)
✅ Trip Verified | Vancouver to Denver. I have to wonder what United airlines in Vancouver is thinking when it comes to customer service! Upon arriving to the Vancouver airport, we went through the self-service kiosk and tagged our bags. They had the wheelchairs locked up so we had to wait on someone to unlock them for my father. Then we were expected to drag our own checked bags about 75 yards to a conveyor belt where we had to load them to be sent off to the plane. This would not have been so bad except we had a wheelchair with no assistance and there were a lot of United personnel standing around talking and doing nothing. They also had everyone wait in the same line for all concourses which took quite a while. I am amazed that such a large airline would have such little customer service especially for loyalty customers (my parents) with today’s poor customer service, they will never get me as a loyalty passenger/customer. Once we arrived to our destination, I was not at all surprised that there was no wheelchair waiting for us as requested in Vancouver. With their outrageous pricing, you think UA would be able to afford better service. I will not book on United again unless they are the absolute only airline to a destination I want and even then I may need to choose another place to visit. Shame on you UA.

"Parents, don’t fly United"
L James (United States)
✅ Trip Verified | Seattle to New Orleans via Houston. In both my flights today I was seated separately from my five year old daughter. There were three other families on this flight who also were seated in separate aisles from their children and had to navigate being a part-time flight attendant and ask people to switch seats. Twelve people crowding the aisle trying to ask strangers to get up. It’s annoying. And the flight attendants did nothing but say “call me if you need my help.” It is outrageous that we are given the option to select seats when we book the ticket and then it might as well be southwest when we arrive on the flight. Parents, don’t fly United.

"United does it again"
1 reviews Skylor Heinaman (United States)
✅ Trip Verified | United does it again, it seems every trip I make the mistake of booking with this airline they find a way to make sure I don't arrive where I'm supposed to on time. I'm typing this as my connecting flight is leaving while I sit on the tarmac because United can't schedule their flights appropriately to save their lives. This airline is truly the worst and no matter what the reason they make you miss your flight it's never their fault and you won't get a refund no matter how bad they screw up. This airline is complete trash and has ruined a vacation for me for the last time. To hell with United, the only thing they're United in is their uncanny ability to screw over their patrons.

"definitely done with United"
G Barker (United States)
Not Verified | My husband was scheduled to leave from Seattle July 4 at 10 am and something went wrong with the plane. He was going to be delayed 2 hrs but because of change of crew it was further delayed to 6 hrs missing his connection. He got rescheduled for a 11:30pm flight. After all those hours waiting in the airport, his flight was cancelled due to crew issues and will reschedule for morning of July 5. He finally asked United to get him on an American Airline flight. My husband has been waiting in the airport for almost 24 hrs. We’re definitely done with United!

"can’t give away one blanket"
C Heany (United States)
✅ Trip Verified | Calgary to Denver. I requested a blanket and the stewardess just said she would lower the temperature. As I was leaving, I saw a blanket still in the wrap and I tried to take it with me for my next flight but the flight attendant said I couldn’t take it because it is only for first class?? You guys can’t give away one blanket?

"seat was given to another customer"
Matt Hanson (United States)
✅ Trip Verified | South Bend to Sioux Falls via Chicago O’Hare. First, my flights were delayed by more than 7 hours due to “weather” (a false excuse given that there was no inclement weather at my location or destination for many hours). After my second flight was canceled, I found an agent and asked to have myself re booked to the 7am flight the following day. However, the exceedingly snippy agent was very difficult and unhelpful. When I finally got her to confirm that I would be on that flight, she then made a stink about getting my bag off of the plane. It took over 3 hours to get my bag, which only even happened because a kind baggage attendant took it on herself to help me (agents were refusing customers service and this happened to several others). Once I had left the terminal, I was informed that there would be no flights the following day, and that I would have to wait yet another day to get to my destination. I infuriatingly accepted this compromise. Yet the next day, I learned that an agent had gone into the system, and labeled me as a “no show” for a flight that was scheduled for the following day! I hadn’t shown up to a flight that hadn’t even happened yet! My seat was given to another customer, and United never gave any indication that they had canceled my reservation, kept my money, and had no intention of taking me to my destination even after costing me two extra days of my limited vacation. This is theft, plain and simple.
