Flew from Melbourne to Bangkok on 777-200 then onto Tokyo on A380. Returning from Osaka on the 747 to Bangkok and back to Melbourne on the 777-300. Thai service was excellent from the Melbourne service centre to the check in staff. The Thai crew were great. Very welcoming professional and efficient. The cabin crew on all legs of the journey were excellent but particularly the legs to and from Melbourne on the 777's. The seats on the 777's although not lie flat were comfortable and had heaps of leg room. The A380 was very comfortable. The Business Lounge at Melbourne (Air New Zealand) was quite good and spacious with wine sparkling spirits and beer. The food was okay. Osaka was cosy but very good. What was a little disappointing was the Thai Business Lounge at Bangkok 'C' wing. It was an evening flight and very crowded. No wine or champagne available and a very limited food offering. I expected more from Thai and this was an area that if improved would improve the total Thai Airways Business experience. Apart from the business lounge at Bangkok I was very impressed with the Thai service and aircraft. Clean on time and great service.

This airline is generally good with friendly staff and good food. Seat spacing in economy class is made for short Asians and probably not for taller Westerners. The leg space is minimal. It also depends on which flight and aircraft you hit you may be lucky (e.g. on route between Thailand and Malaysia) or unlucky (e.g. between Thailand and Pakistan) and hit the most likely worst operating aircraft still in service for Thai airways.

BNE-BKK with brief stopover and BKK-PEK. Both in Business and flights were very good. The service was warm and genuine and cabins adequate (neither the 777-300 or the A330 had the new configuration). Food was plentiful and tasty and exceeded the quality of our last Thai First Class experience minus the Beluga. Wine was reasonable but on the second flight we were the last to be served in the cabin and were sometimes forgotten (e.g no peanuts offered slow to offer a second glass). On time departures and arrivals for both flights check in smooth with help from the kerbside at BKK remote lounge at BKK was OK but beginning to look at bit worn. In general of a high standard and the flights were enjoyable.

Bangkok to Chiang Mai in business class. Check in at Bangkok was smooth since there were no queues. Domestic royal silk lounge is brilliant for domestic lounge. When we got to the gate for boarding the flight was suddenly delayed 15 minutes for an unknown reason. Once we finally boarded the aircraft the staff were very friendly and all of them were willing to help you with anything. Seats on the B737-400 are not very comfortable due to the hard padding the tight legroom and the footrest which takes up even more of your legroom. Apart from the wide seats and smaller cabin I honestly felt like I was sitting in economy. Once we were all settled in the purser came around offering us a choice of drinks before take off. Not long after we took off the light snack was served. On this flight the snack was Cold Teriyaki Chicken with Salad which was not very nice. Apart from these small reasons Thai is a very good airline and I will definitely be flying with them again.

Once again flown London to Brisbane return via Bangkok and the service and cabin ambience in economy was brilliant. Main strength is the cabin ambience (food and beverage selection AVOD and hygiene). The newly retrofitted 747s are very comfortable and AVOD has a good selection of entertainment. I would strongly recommend Thai Airways as it always is a pleasant experience.

SIN-BKK-SIN. Thai airways was fairly expensive on this route however timings and frequency to Singapore provided piece of mind when transiting in Singapore. Website was good however when asked if you would like to select seats now you feel you may not have to know and can do it after the booking not the case so after a phone call to London office that was sorted. Check in and boarding very punctual in both Singapore and Bangkok. Food was amazing and service quick efficient with staff being very nice friendly and smiley! seat was more comfortable in the A330 than the 773. Inflight entertainment was very varied. Would definitely not hesitate to fly with Thai international again would recommend.

BKK-SYD was one of the worst flights I have experienced. The Boeing 747 used on this route looked like it had never been maintained in its 20 years of service. The seats are so uncomfortable if you're 1.75m or taller you can't even lean you head back because the seat back is too short. There was no AVOD and no overhead monitors just a few projectors which didn't even work correctly. Service was not very friendly and food was also less than average. I would definitely not recommend flying Thai on this route until they consistently use state-of-the-art aircraft's.

SYD-BKK CDG-BKK-MEL. First time flying Business Class and I was pretty impressed. SYD-BKK on 747 - upstairs cabin is very exclusive and calm in a 2-2 arrangement and very quiet. Seats are not fully-flat but perfectly fine for a day-time flight and I really liked the enormous storage bins on the windows - we didn't need to put anything in the overhead. 5 courses for lunch was a ridiculous amount of food! Crew appeared to have been doing their jobs a very long time and were just going through the motions. CDG-BKK a horrible airport in CDG but the A380 was excellent. Very comfortable fully-flat seats and nice big clean toilets. I am 6"1 and the bed was long enough for me. A380 is still quite loud if you are trying to sleep though. Crew seemed quite excited to be working the A380. Thai Lounges in BKK are a bit tired but plenty of space food and staff on hand and hardly anyone there. The chicken noodle soup is delicious! The final leg BKK-MEL was actually probably the best flight of all 3 - the 777-200 feels very very spacious in the J cabin even though its the same seat as the 747. Crew were upbeat and attentive food was good and the mood was very pleasant. Never a wait for a toilet on any 3 flights. Thai are a good but not great airline.

Overnight flight BLR-BKK slightly older but well-kept 777. Aside from a 10-15 minute delayed departure with no announcements flight was excellent. Quick and friendly check-in surprisingly comfortable seat on board service and entertainment great food delicious - the best economy meal I've had in a long time. Very relaxed flight and super smooth landing.

My wife and I flew to and from Phuket from Brisbane TG474 / TG225 4th August. TG218 / TG473 20th August 2013. We are much travelled around the world. However we must say we were extremely impressed with the courtesy friendliness and efficiency of all the airline Staff both on and off the aircraft. This in spite of what we consider the travelling "cattle". Made our long journey pleasurable.
