Flew LHR to MNL - to give some context I've done pretty much every route to Manila in recent years usually based on price at the time. I found Singapore Airlines still to be a cut above the rest - but not perfect - and wouldn't hesitate to use again. Main leg on way out was on a modern 777 very nice and clearly more space than competition due to 3-3-3 layout - food all good and I can't remember any other carrier proactively offering so many drinks and refills in Economy. However the Singapore to Manila leg (and same coming back) was a much older 777 cabin with mediocre screens etc. Still no complaints as the equivalent leg on Malaysian (comparable due to distance) is on a real shocker of a 737. On way back my video screen was down for the whole flight and the staff asked me to stay behind to speak to the customer service team at Changi for 'compensation' - they gave me some kind of wallet which was a nice touch but not worth waiting behind on an empty plane for. Singapore to London on A380 upstairs - great flight and great space. All 4 flights were delayed which was frustrating but hey not the airlines' fault. Generally - the long haul legs very impressive the shorter flights average but overall far better than any other route to the Philippines. One frustration is security rules at the gate at Changi - confiscating water bought 2 minutes before at the airport which seems excessive.

LHR-SIN. Check-in agent was extremely helpful - even though I was travelling on a reward ticket issued by TACA and booked through Avianca (a tortuous provenance one would expect to preclude changes) I asked at check-in if I could take the later 2230 flight instead of the 2100 I was booked on so I could get more work done in the lounge before the flight (and also as I prefer A380 to 777-300ER). Not only did he manage to do this but having done so he realised my bag had already been tagged and sent down the chute so printed a new tag gave me my travel documents then raced off to intercept my bag and re-tag it somewhere in the bowels of T3. Amazing effort (and obviously successful as my bag indeed made it on the right flight). SAS lounge pretty good nice view of the airfield action. Onboard SQ were using the hi-J config A380 with business class taking up the entire upper deck. My window seat was the last row and on it’s own between the rear exit just ahead and the galley just behind. Service was very nice as usual from SQ and again dispelled the myth that they are smiling robots as I had several nice conversations with different members of the crew. Food was a bit of a letdown (seafood and rice dish very bland) but the bed is so good it’s almost too comfortable - I slept so well that I had awful jetlag for a week arriving at 6pm incredibly refreshed left me hideously out of synch with the local time zone. I will manage my sleep patterns better and ask for some spicy sauce on the side of my main next time but SQ remain one of the best in the air.

In the last 2 weeks I flew from Perth to Singapore to Johannesburg back to Singapore then to Hong Kong from Hong Kong back to Singapore and finally home to Perth! All with Singapore Airlines. Every flight was quite simply the best I have experienced. I actually found myself looking forward to a meal on a plane. All aspects were fast efficient friendly and professional. Economy seats on the 777 are far better than any other airline I have flown IFE was very good with a wide selection all flights on time and onboard staff very good. Quite simply I can see why they are always rated so highly.

We have been Silver Krisflyer members for 15 years at least and just flew Johannesburg to Singapore SQ479 26 Apr and Singapore to Brisbane SQ235 27 Apr and the disinterested and offhand manner of the staff was very noticeable. The females with one exception were unsmiling and almost snatched trays from us. During meal service flight attendants in the past always ensured the comfort of passenger dining by requesting the seats be upright but on these two flights I had to ask that this be done. Also there was a huge rush to get a stone cold awful breakfast served before landing in Brisbane - why? Then they missed the fact that a passenger in front still had his seat reclined for landing. We noticed similar problems on a return Europe flight last year.

SQ222 SYD to SIN on Airbus 380 punctual take-off excellent in-flight service great seat cabin crews were very friendly and attentive. Singapore Airlines is a class above others!

Singapore Changi to Guangzhou Baiyun return. Stewardess were attentive and polite. Hot towel upon arrival. Food was excellent. Seats were comfortable. Good serving time and the drinks were great. Power sockets were found on the seats great for my laptop! Something that I have not seen on my previous trip to Taiwan with the local airlines there. Everything was taken care off and you know that you are in good hands.

Left Heathrow on 21st February stopping in Singapore for 1.5 hours before flight to Auckland. I had the pleasure of flying for the first time not only to New Zealand from Heathrow but with Singapore Airlines. I just had to write to say how excellent my flying time was. I was made to feel safe secure welcome and as if I was the only passenger on the plane. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were immaculate in all areas of appearance. A great flight.

Singapore to San Francisco on 26 April 2014 which was a full flight. Before take off it seemed that some passengers were not assigned seats but the ground and cabin crew were on top of sorting things out. Food from Singapore to Hong Kong was pretty good but the food from Hong Kong to San Francisco was quite disappointing.

Flight 25 April 19 2014 and Flight 26 on April 27 2014. My wife and I have flown Singapore Airlines before and have always been more than satisfied with every aspect of the flight. This trip was even better than in the past. The crew on both flights were exceptionally helpful since my wife had hip surgery recently and needed extra attention. We were accommodated at every turn during the flight. The American carriers could learn a lot from Singapore Airlines.

We are long time Kris flyers our flights SQ 224 and SQ 866 7 April 2014 Perth - Singapore Singapore - Hong Kong there were no problems as was SQ 805 22 April 2014. Beijing - Singapore however SQ 223 25 April 2014 Singapore - Perth what a shambles full flight cabin staff were more interested in 'special meals etc'. Eventually after a 1.5 hour delay we were served lunch you read about staff not answering call button this happened to us eventually our call was answered there was definitely a problem. No coffee and tea was brought around eventually my husband took our meal trays down to the back galley only to be met with oh! We forgot! On leaving the aircraft - there was not one cabin crew member to be seen.
