LHR B788 DOH A320 MLE and return. First QR flights. Service excellent and food / beverage quality above average. Seat pitch on B788 a bit tight for taller people but comfort otherwise ok. Entertainment system excellent. A320 definitely more roomy albeit a bit tired looking. Transfers at DOH both very short but airport design/ layout helpful ground staff and buggy availability (if needed) made the process trouble free. Luggage checked through to destination so no worries there. Will use QR again where available.

QR 647 May 12 and QR 733 May 13. Was travelling from SEA-KTM-SEA with my 5 year old child and wife. We were given different seats even though we requested the seats together (both in KTM airport and Doha airport). The agent at the counters said that the seats were together but they were not. On our way to SEA from Doha I was given the 2 last seats and 1 in front of that. Not very nice seats to be given for someone who is travelling with a 5 year old child. Had 14 hrs of transit in Doha and no hotel was provided.

QR702 JFK-DOH 777-300ER seat 1A. After boarding no one from the crew came to greet me offered me anything to drink sleepwear etc. It was odd and a bit like I didn't exist. The chief purser was not very friendly which is uncharacteristic for QR in its premium cabin. The dinner was good. My breakfast selection was overcooked and dried out. On-time departure and arrival. AVOD getting a bit tired especially the TV comedy selections.

I am a BA Silver card holder and decided to try Qatar now they are part of the oneworld Alliance. We flew LHR to DOHA then onto Phnom Penh as the final outward destination. The flight from London to Doha was their new Business A380 seats. On board there was a bar where we sat enjoying a drink with other passengers. The crew service is excellent and the products provided. Also the meal on board was enjoyable so was their lounge in T4 Heathrow. Again service way above other carriers. On the return journey we flew on A330 and A340 which didn't have such good business seating. Crew were very attentive and the ground staff at Doha.

SIN-DOH-IKA on B787 and A320 return SYZ=DOH-SIN on A320 and A350. Seats very comfortable except for B787. I am only 5 foot 4 but the entertainment box which is under both the aisle and window seats is terribly intrusive. It was my first flight on a B787 and while the quiet engines and improved humidity were a welcome change the cramped seats made it very difficult to sleep. Will avoid flying with Qatar on the 787 in future. Thankfully they have decided to switch to the A350 to Singapore which was an infinitely more comfortable flight. Crew on all flights were excellent and food was generally very good. Fantastic personal AVOD available on every flight except from DOH-IKA.

I flew CPT-DOH-FRA on B787/A350 (16 April 2015) and return LHR-DOH-CPT on A380/B787 (30 April 2015). All in all a massive disappointment. B787 is without doubt the most uncomfortable aircraft I have flown on and is to be avoided. Qatar Airways like most others have opted for the high density seating in economy of 3x3x3 instead of 2x4x2 for which the aircraft was designed. This results in horrendously narrow seats with poor pitch and legroom. Worst of all a hard metal entertainment box in the foot well of every window and aisle seats. The box takes at least one third of foot well space and forces ones feet close together if you wish to stretch out your legs. The metal box bites into the side of your shin and is painful and uncomfortable. The new Airbus A350 with a wider body and 3x3x3 is far better. More spacious more width and a less intrusive entrainment box in the foot well. A350 XWB wins hands-down in passenger comfort over it's rival B787. Food was average to abysmal on all sectors served lukewarm to cold. Drinks service okay and champagne and cognac a plus in economy class. On all flights the crew were friendly but surprisingly disorganised during meal service. Running backwards and forwards through the cabin to supply vegetarian meat and chicken dishes not correctly loaded in trolleys. There was a clear lack of effective communication between crew members during service. Cultural issues perhaps as the staff are a multinational mish-mash from all over the world. Better communication and cultural diversity training for staff would help. The awful cramped B787 and shockingly bad food on 2 sectors (lukewarm and mass packaged and prepared). Avoid any sectors that use the B787 Dreamliner it's a nightmare.

PER-DOH-CDG and return. Just did Perth to Doha in business on a 777 and then Doha to Paris economy on the 380 and return the same way. All trips on time. We had a look at business class on the 380 but prefer the layout on the 777. Economy upstairs on the 380 was fine for the shorter journey. What was excellent was the service. Consistently very high standard from FA's. As Qantas gold members we chose Qatar over Emirates because there was several thousand dollars difference in cost for our package and Qatar still gave us One World benefits. Would not hesitate to choose them again. We used Qantas lounge in Perth which is not bad Air France premium lounge at CDG which has all the amenities of the QF lounge at Karratha and the Qatar lounge it Doha which is simply superb.

DXB-DOH-BCN return. Overall a very poor flight in both segments: quite old Airbus A330-200 with noisy engines extremely cramped seats poor IFE awful food with small portions and quite inattentive to rude cabin crew both ways. Ground staff inattentive transfer at Doha is a mess. I will be happy to fly any other airline in the future.

Flight MXP to BKK in November 2014. Both flights on schedule. The A330 from MXP to DOH was rather old and very few leg space. The B777 from DOH to BKK was rather ok but still I had the feeling that they reduced in this aircraft as well the leg space. Honestly I can't complain because I paid a very low rate. On the MXP-DOH flight staff made a mess with the meal requests I made during my booking. While serving food they told me the low fat meal wasn't available and they served me the normal meal. After 40 minutes an other hostess passed by to serve me the low fat meal. On the DOH-BKK flight everything was ok.

Economy SIN-DOH-ATH 9 May and VIE-DOH-SIN 16 May. Boarding at Singapore on time and flight departed slightly behind schedule. The seats on the B787 were a bit cramped and not the most comfortable. Entertainment system was good and meal service was prompt. Very good snack sandwiches and main meals. Transfer at Doha was seamless - upon disembarking I could clear the transit security within 10 minutes. Flight to Athens on an older A330-300 entertainment system a bit dated food was good and service was ok. Seat was very good though. Departed Doha behind schedule and arrived in Athens around 10 minutes late but bags were on the belt within 20 minutes of disembarking the aircraft. Return from Vienna was good - check-in was fast and boarding took around 20 minutes although it was a bit disorganised. Vienna-Doha flight was operated by the B787 once again seats and entertainment was ok. The veg meal I got on this flight was pretty good and crew were very professional. Had the privilege to fly on the A350 from Doha to Singapore and the aircraft was a step up from the B787. Seats had more pitch/width and the earphone and USB ports are now integrated into the screen the entertainment system worked perfectly. Flight on this sector was not full but the service was the best of the lot. Cabin crew went around on several drink and snack services and the main breakfast meal on this sector was good. Arrival in Singapore on time and bags were on the belt within 20 minutes. It was a good experience with Qatar Airways and I look forward to flying more of the A350 in future.
