SYD-BKK on an A330-300 that was not refurbished yet. While the interior updates are clearly due I thought this was a very good flight. The cabin crew were friendly and helpful. The meal (lunch) ice cream served afterwards and refreshment prior to arrival were great. IFE is dated but adequate and there was a reasonable choice for a 9-hour flight. Seat comfort and legroom was fine. I have flown on Qantas A330 aircraft numerous times so was not expecting a state-of-the-art product. The refurbishment will make this a great aircraft to fly on routes to Asia.

Qantas had a two for one business class fare deal going so we booked to the USA. We booked 4x seats. My kids are aged 9 and 14. Did the USA theme parks and had a great time. Qantas staff on the flights were great with the kids. They asked the kids what they wanted to eat and drink and then combined some of the meal options from first and business to make sure the kids were well fed. We all got plenty of sleep and it felt like the flight was 5 hours instead of 13. The seats fully reclined to a bed and we got pyjamas pillows and doonas. The service was without fault.

Travelled SYD-BNE on 738 aircraft in Business Class. Similar to previous flights flown - great service and attitude of staff but product on offer lets QF down a bit. The "meal" on this flight was a bowl of soup or some cheese. Not quite the level I was expecting for a Business class flight. The cutlery was dirty and the spoon damaged. The cabin crew were quick to change it - but it left me with the impression that Qantas' Business Class is below standard in some areas on domestic Australian flights. Thankfully the manner of the cabin crew was excellent and made up for it.

MEL-DXB-BCN FCO-DXB-MEL. Qantas ticket on which 3 legs of the trip were with services provided by Emirates and 1 by Qantas. Having compared the two airlines I hate to say this but the only way I will buy another Qantas ticket is if all the flights are with Emirates. Emirates provided better food drinks entertainment the stewards were great and the interior of the planes were superior.

Flew economy from Melbourne to Brisbane return for the Australia day long weekend. Up on the Friday and back on the Monday. Got exit row seats up and back on a Boeing 737-8. Going up it was a 10am flight so only a light snack which was some nuts and a health bar of sorts. This must have been an old 737 as no inflight entertainment so listened to the radio. On time and a fuss free flight. Coming back on a newer Boeing 737-8 with inflight seat back screens. I still only listened to the radio. As it was a lunch time flight had a choice of a chicken sandwich or a soggy veggie pie. Again a fuss free flight and on time. I had checked in luggage which arrived without too much wait. Overall a good trip from Qantas.

MEL-WLG return in January 2015 on a B737-800. Cabin crew generally helpful (these routes are operated by New Zealanders rather than Australians) food and drink plentiful and hard to fault with several tasty selections. I had lamb kofta one way and lamb tagine the other. Even ice creams and chocolates were distributed after the main course - nice touches for economy class. Inflight entertainment better than average. Negatives were that both flights left around half an hour late with limited announcements and no obvious cause for delays other than the "late arrival of the incoming flight" mantra which airlines love bandying about these days. I'm not aware of being late to your last appointment being an acceptable excuse for being late to your next one in any other form of human activity. The other negative is the Qantas approach to pre-booked online seating. The tactic seems to be to open up very few seats in the hope that you will select an emergency exit at extra cost. I am happy so long as I have an aisle seat which took a bit of negotiation both flights and meant sitting next to the rear toilets. Incidentally I have never seen such long queues for toilets as I did on the return flight - two cubicles for 150 economy passengers is clearly inadequate on a four hour trip.

SYD to BKK 15th Jan. Return 19th Jan. Flight full both ways in both classes. Old plane hard seats poor food choices outbound-didn't eat on return sector. Outstanding mature crew on both sectors. This business class service is now way behind Thai Cathay Singapore etc. Marginally better than Jetstar Star Class. Needs a drastic facelift.

A330-300 MEL-HKG QF29 HKG-MEL QF30. It was a quite old plane with very old seats and useless flight entertainment system. No hot towels neither refreshment wipes before the flight. Polite looking but unfortunately unhelpful cabin crew. I had a special request food but could not eat it because of the heavy spice taste and smell. I went to the kitchen and asked for something else to eat according to my special dietary requirements but got the answer "there is nothing for you to eat on this plane" rather then getting offered simply for a piece of fruit or a packet of crackers. The person in front of me asked for a spare bottle of water but was declined. Finally I have got the impression from the cabin crew that I have to enjoy with what I have got because they were too busy and unwilling to offer any more than that. This was my first flight experience with Qantas and because of couple of small problems it will probably be the last one.

Flew Sydney-Melbourne late last week. I was shocked to be served a chicken and corn pie - it was awful Qantas has really hit rock bottom no alternative available like I would have had on other airlines outside Australia. The overall service is now much like American domestic carriers - little or no service at all! Staff gave little or no assistance to passengers trying to find locations for luggage storage overhead hence the flight was 10 min late before all passengers were settled. The seats also have an unusual shape which for a longer flight would become quite uncomfortable. QF please learn from your Asian competitors.

We flew business class Perth to Sydney on Xmas Day and Sydney to Perth Jan 17 one may expect Xmas spirit. On the Perth to Sydney flight I asked the stewardess for a glass of water and champagne about 30 mins after takeoff and was told to wait till they served the food in half an hour. She then walked off and it took 10 mins to get another stewardess as they were all in the food area with the curtains shut. Finally got a drink of water and then when food came around I was informed that from a choice of 4 only 1 was available as they had run out of the others. It was a one third full business class section and we were the second to be served! I questioned this and she grumblingly walked off and found me an omelette. We never saw the staff without having to ring the bell. Sydney to Perth again I was told to wait until the meal was served before I could get a drink of juice and wine. I got better service in economy. But the male crew were fabulous friendly and brought us drinks without having to wait until the food was served. Seats were frayed and vinyl split some of the reclining buttons did not work. Food very average. Very poor female crew and overall and I will not fly Qantas business class out of choice ever again. I will go back to Singapore Cathay Air NZ and Virgin.
