QF 24 - BKK-SYD an Emirates code share flight. Ok meal is rather sad tiny portion for Larb chicken salad as a main meal for dinner they had run out of the better option which was Choo Chee sea bass. Luckily I packed myself some goodies from Bangkok Gourmet supermarket. However I have to give top marks for ingenuity as I love the hot chocolate offered as an option to coffee or tea. Entertainment is the old school loop back movies on tiny screens simply not worth watching. Music collection is rather sad and limited a drastic contrast to those who are so accustomed to the Emirates ICE system. While Emirates would get 5 star on entertainment sadly I can only give 1 star for Qantas. Plane is old but immaculate no mood lighting no tooth paste in the toilet. Seat is cramp. Despite this I am glad sitting on the aisle seat and manage to sleep for a good few hours. The Qantas seat is definitely better than the one emirates deploy on their Airbus 330-200 which will give you a guaranteed back ache if ever attempted on a 9 hours flight. But top marks for the crews they save the short coming of the hard products.

BKK-SYD QF24 on 25 March in economy. Flight experience was reasonably sad: despite being Platinum FF no recognition at all from cabin crew however some special treatment for a young woman a few seats behind being showered with champagne dinner from business class and noise cancelling headphones. Food more mediocre than anything breakfast as good as non-existent (although there should have been a 'mushroom cheese and thyme breakfast pastry' and some 'yoghurt and pineapple compote' cabin crew conveniently served me nothing but a cup of coffee). Plane (A333) old seats cramped flight completely full. No comparison to what EK offers in economy both in terms of aircraft and service.

SYD-BKK QF23 on A330 16 Feb. Flight 80% full. Counter check-in service achieved the desired results with seat selection at least they were window and aisle seats seated in 57 J & K with a feeling of space because of the wider aisle. As for the flight. Departed a little early the captains announcements were clear and audible that initially he expected to arrive early but due to some storm cell in the tropics he chose to navigate around we arrived on time. Very smooth flight. This Qantas flight was the best I have experienced with them in the past 12 years or so. Meals which were tasty edible and plentiful were served with a good range of drinks within 1.5 hours of departure. Seat comfort good and to our enjoyment on this daytime flight of 9 hours the PAX in front did not recline their seats into my face. I did notice that the crew automatically asked other PAX to put their seat in an upright position during meal times. The cabin crew in the rear section of economy class had a positive attitude for the duration of the flight and worked tirelessly and with enthusiasm. They were approachable jovial friendly professional communicative genuinely interested and most importantly personable. They were fun to fly with and made this a most pleasant flight Compared to some major competitor airlines with good service but rather robotic - like cabin crew these crew were a refreshing change and significantly an improvement over other Qantas flights experience in recent years. In conclusion a most pleasant and relaxing flight - and clearly worth the extra money over so - called “low cost”airlines. I will be definitely flying with them again in the foreseeable future.

My wife daughter 2 year old grandson and I flew in economy class from Sydney to LAX on QF11 on 3/9/15. Although it is a long taxing flight our experience was delightful! The staff were very accommodating from the start (something all too rare these days) that pushed the experience over the top.

Flew business from Sydney to Manila return in March 2015 on A330-200. Excellent crew - attentive service and very friendly especially on return leg. A330 cabin is showing its age and the current refit Qantas are undergoing much needed. Seat comfortable and managed 4 hours sleep on return flight home. Wines were great and food quality was high. Qantas really need to rethink their approach to business menu. It is all a bit fussy and a hearty "home style" dish would not go amiss. I understand that the flights from Asia are a challenge to do a full service get time for rest and breakfast but when leaving a city like Manila at 7.20pm after a day working passengers haven't had dinner and both Manila airport and Qantas lounge are woeful with no decent food options a supper service really doesn't cut it when as best you haven't eaten since lunch. It could easily be fixed with a hearty meal with decent portions. Otherwise very good.

QF27 SYD to Santiago Business in a 747-400. Penny pinching catering. Generally inferior to catering in Qantas business domestic. Staff apologetic agree used to be much better. Doing the best they can with what they have. Agreed Neil Perry selection going downhill. Often can't offer a choice of mains. Allocated one 400 ml bottle of water per passenger 5 cashews plus some other rubbish in a cellophane pack. No comparison with airlines like Emirates. Could do much better for minimal cost in comparison to the fare. Recommend Qantas but eat before you fly.

My husband and I recently flew to Sydney New Zealand and Dubai from the UK (round trip) and booked with Emirates some of our flights were on a Qantas aircraft and how they have changed over the last 25 years! I last flew with them back in the late 80's and back then couldn't rate them more highly. What a great airline they were even though I flew economy I was treated as if I was in first class. Now I would compare them to Ryanair or some such other cheap airline. They really pack you in like sardines even on long haul (7 hour plus flights) most of these flights left us in physical pain from being so squashed in. The aircraft's are looking old and tired. We nearly didn't get on one flight (Sydney to Queenstown) as they had over booked it. The ground crew did try their best to be helpful and we did finally manage to make it onto the flight but had to be rushed through even though we'd arrived a good 2.5 hours before our flight. They weren't able to seat us together which is so disappointing when you have booked seats in advance. I hate this level of poor service. I would never choose to fly with them again sadly.

I flew LHR-DXB-MEL. Compared to other 'western' carriers I found the service and product very high although I wish they would roll out a new seat. I had the opposite experience to N Jeram though regarding crew - I thought the London based crew (of whom were comprised of several 'aussies' as well as other nationalities) far superior to the Melbourne based crew who were extremely indifferent and did not seem to want to be there. I think it is ridiculous to only want crew from the nationality of the carrier serving you. For me one of the strengths of airlines like BA Emirates Singapore Cathay and Qantas is their multi-national crews.

SYD-HKG-SYD in Business/First. A380 first class seat sold as business class. Great experience with QF A380. Both flights are departed and landed on time. SYD first lounge is fabulous as always. It is the best in the world. Food is great free spa service is amazing. Staff are in general great on QF A380 very friendly helpful and professional. QF lounge in HK has been renovated has a great feeling good food and drinks. Shower facilities are same with in Australia. Keep it up Qantas!

QF010 1/2/15. QF001 28/2/15. Heathrow-Dubai-Melbourne. Dubai-Heathrow. Comfortable flat beds. Cabin a little utilitarian - just generally grey. Staff were friendly although on Dubai/Heathrow not many of them! Biggest disappointment was the food (business class). Mediocre pub food and cannot to be compared with any other airline we have flown with. We would not chose to fly Qantas again when there are so many options out there. Perth-Dubai was with "partner" Emirates - Qantas could learn a lot from them.
