Sydney-London-Melbourne on A380 with a family group of six ranging from grandparents (includes me) to parents to two 11 year old grandchildren. Originally booked QF9/10 from/to Melbourne but QF9 was cancelled some months prior to departure apparently as an occasional cost-saving measure by Qantas. Hence we were moved to QF1 from Sydney for the outbound leg with a domestic connecting flight in Business. Overall an excellent experience that includes the chauffeur transfer services spa and massage facilities at the First Lounge in Sydney personal escort to the aircraft warm friendly and genuine personal greetings by all cabin staff and Customer Service Managers on each leg great menu options top wines and spirits good entertainment facilities spacious individual suites and very comfortable beds. All staff were magnificent - efficient cheerful always checking if anything else could be done and they had great fun interacting with the children (and vice a versa). The only downside that prevents me from giving full star ratings overall was a couple of us had to queue for the toilets a couple of times because they were being used by Business Class passengers from upstairs. Obviously a legacy from when Qantas decided to replace two of the Business Class toilets upstairs with seats. I'm sure someone in the Qantas executive could identify a simple solution to this annoyance. In summary Qantas can be very pleased with the manner in which all staff looked after us.

QF 163 Sydney to Wellington 8 April 2015. We missed our connecting flight due to the inefficiencies of Vietnam Airlines and Qantas stepped up to the party had ground crew waiting at the door of the plane whipped us of on the cart to the transfer desk booked the next flights to Wellington NZ. Extremely efficient well organised and very much appreciated. The flight was fantastic meals good quality and service attentive. (SYD-WGT).

On flight EK 5566 February 6 Perth to Sydney my request for a non-lactose meal had got lost in the system. A hostess Veronica went out of her way to source a suitable meal for me to ensure that I did not go hungry. This was much appreciated and turned a potential disappointment into a pleasure.

Flew Sydney to Auckland QF143/QF140. Plane departed late but arrived on time. Both planes were very clean and the crew did a good job handling the full flights. Lunch on the flight over was good but the breakfast on the return leg wasn't so good. The entertainment system was good but more movie options would be better.

What has happened to you Qantas? Plane to Bangkok was old and hadn't been cleaned from previous passengers. The in-flight entertainment was not competitive with other airlines. Lots of trouble returning from our destination due to flight delays (mostly of a technical nature). When transferring there are no Qantas desk people to ask for information as we had two international connections and our flight was delayed twice. Absolutely no Qantas desks open to talk to a human being. Ended in up the Qantas lounge with our disgruntled passengers. Flight finally took off 7 hours later at 1.30 in the morning (due to radar part being flown in for our plane) hence we missed our two international connections. They tried to correct but we had to drive to our final destination in the end as we had missed our last flight and Qantas say they probably won't pay for the car rental. We will never fly with them again. They need to upgrade their planes and service because at present they are not competing with the other airlines.

Recently flew on Qanta's QF 1 & 2 services LHR-SYD return. Australian based crew miles better than the London based crew. New economy meal service is great with large portion sizes and lots of treats throughout the flight including ice creams fresh fruit and chocolate bars the self service bars are also very handy in between meals. Great range of entertainment on a decent size screen. Overall a great experience with Qantas and I wouldn't hesitate to fly again. I flew in seat 80K which was great with no seat in front.

PER to PBO. Flight advertised as Qantas Airways flight even on boarding pass but soon found out flight was operated by Network Aviation. Plane an old and tired fokker 100. Was a step back in the past and a huge downgrade from the Qantaslink B717 used in the past. Crew very friendly and service great. Good snack provided. Perth airport congested meaning we were bussed out to a remote stand in the middle of the tarmac.

MEL-AKL-MEL. Onward journey to Auckland was on Emirates EK406/QF8762 was on 23rd March 2015. The aircraft was an Airbus 380. I have flown these before and it was very comfortable. The flight was full the service was excellent the food was great and the cabin entertainment was terrific. I have flown Emirates many times and considered them to be a 5 star airline because of their quality of service the food and the ambience. However the fight back to Melbourne was on Qantas QF 154 on 26th March 2015. It was like chalk and cheese. The aircraft was a Boeing 737. The flight was full and it was cramped. There were many people flying back to Melbourne from Auckland after the cricket - I couldn't understand why Qantas were not able to have a larger aircraft. The food and service was pretty ordinary to say the least. I would like to fly Qantas again as it is the national carrier - but goodness me they have to really lift their game and compete with the rest of the world.

London Heathrow to Dubai in Airbus 380 - I did use Cathay first lounge at terminal 3 which was ok. Boarding was very easy for first and business class - welcome onboard was very friendly with premium bubbles of the day being generously offered in first. Flight attendants very friendly ample explanation of the seat and entertainment facilities. Very nice amenity set with pyjamas and slippers. Meal was good with very good Australian white wines - coffee accompanied by premium liquors and Bordeaux styled canelécookies. Assistance was given for sleep position - flight is only 6.50 - so after the meals only able to sleep for 4 hours. Light breakfast served before arrival was of good quality goodbye was also friendly. Luggage arrived very fast in Dubai airport.
