"food was problematic"

Trip Verified | Hanover to Beijing via Munich. Flight HAJ to CKG via MUC/PEK, and return flight CKG to HAJ via SHA-PVG/MUC. Online booked at Lufthansa, the flight PEK-CKG was carried out as part of the Star Alliance by Air China with a LH flight number. In Hannover the luggage was labeled to CKG. I asked if the luggage had to be picked up in Beijing and re-boarded to CKG, I did not receive conclusive information in Hanover and at the boarding gate in Munich. The lady at the boarding gate in Munich has looked in the PC, but she was not able to give a conclusive answer. She just gave the advice to ask in Beijing! On my objection that I do not speak Chinese, she said that at the jetway when leaving the plane there are always someone with English language skills. That was not the case. Then, as a precaution, I waited for my suitcase on the luggage belt, which then came. The food of the flight section MUC-PEK can be classified as problematic. The first leg of the return flight, which I took with my wife, was done by Air China. The first leg was delayed by 1:40 hours due to fog in CKG. We had to fear for our connection in Shanghai, because an airport change from Shanghai Hongqiao to Pudong (around 60 km) was necessary. When we made our online booking only a terminal change was indicated for Shanghai. Later it was changed in an airport change. Air China was unable to obtain any assistance because of the delay. Then there was an altercation at the check-in CKG because of the number of luggage (2 pieces each 23 kg per person). Air China wanted to carry only 1 piece with 20 kg/person. Furthermore, it was forgotten to enter the passport number on my wife's boarding pass, as soon as the next trouble occurred at the security checkpoint. On the flight from Shanghai to Munich I had problems with the adjustment of the footrest. The adjustment knob often fell out of its holder, making the operation of the footrest problematic. The Purser has taken care of it professionally.

"has a very good service"

Trip Verified | Beijing to Lisbon via Munich. Lufthansa has a very good service. I noticed some frustration by some staff in dealing with some people on the PEK MUC flight, so maybe they should be better prepared for the communication difficulties and the cultural differences. Food was great, but entertainment could be a tad more recent. Flights right on time. MUC LIS leg was overbooked but passangers were offered a rather good option if they chose to fly the following day. One slight detail: transferring within Beijing airport is beyond confusing and Lufthansa should take care of it together with their alliance partner

"a very comfortable flight"

Trip Verified | Paris to Tbilisi via Munich. The flight from Paris to Munich was short flight with very good full bar service and a little tasty sandwich. The flight from Munich to Tbilisi takes approximately 3.5 hours. The captain of the flight on 31 October warmly welcomed passengers in Georgian language which was very nice touch. Passengers applauded him and this created very pleasant environment on board. The seats were comfortable as usual. The staff was very efficient and attentive to passengers. Food and beverages were excellent for this medium haul flight. Overall a very comfortable flight, with an excellent crew and tasty hot dinner. I recommend Lufthansa as it is excellent company! My opinion is that Lufthansa and Turkish airlines offer the best economy class product on the route from Europe to Georgia.

"Exceptional and very friendly service"

Trip Verified | Munich to Toronto and back from Montreal. Last minute upgrade from Premium Economy to Business at the gate. Easy check in (curbside for Business Travellers at Munich Airport, which is fantastic). The plane and seats a little bit dated but everything clean as always with Lufthansa. Exceptional and very friendly service on the leg to Toronto by the Purser, responsible for the last 3 rows in Business which is on this Aircraft a separate Cabin: Drink service and meals superb, no complaints at all! Flight Deck very informative especially concerning turbulences and strong winds which caused in total one hour delay as late departure due to technical reasons. I have found the entertainment program (compared to SQ) a litle bit basic (especially the music choices).

"they cancelled the flight"

Trip Verified | Amsterdam to Frankfurt. The worst experience i have had with the airline in terms of emergency management. Weather was a bit rainy, so they cancelled the flight - almost no other airline did, but ok. Nobody from the staff knew what to do, how to handle the passengers. Took me about two hours to get hold of anyone. Lufthansa hasn't made any attempt at rebooking with another airline - said they tried with their partners (only partners), but those had no seats. Then they planned to book me for the next evening, took a lot of effort to have them book me for the morning - I had a venue to attend as a photographer, which I ended up missing. Then they booked the passengers into some hotel 50 miles from the airport, without providing transportation. Cab cost me 70 EUR each way - which they promised to pay back, but it's been over a month now, and I still haven't heard back - and it's impossible to get hold of anyone responsible for that, operators just tell you "Oh sorry, hope they get back to you". Might be ok when everything's fine, but as soon as something goes wrong, you're in trouble.

"staff very nice and attentive"

Trip Verified | Frankfurt to Beijing. Boarding went well, except for the fact that I was pulled to the side as the information on my visa has not been made available. I asked if I could have done it and I was told I could not, coming from Portugal (not sure if this is related to LH or not, though). The flight went great, as the staff were very nice and attentive, but I would like the food choices to be a little more interesting and the entertainment to be more exciting. Nothing very new, I must say.

"friendly and professional"

Trip Verified | San Diego to Vienna via Frankfurt. The Lufthansa staff were very friendly and professional both at check in and onboard. The inflight food and entertainment was very good also. I do have issues with the comfort and seat side by side spacing in business. The seat was very hard and uncomfortable and even with the mattress it was still uncomfortable. There is no privacy between the seats and the common arm rests are an issue as I had drinks spilled on me on the SAN to FRA and the return. I normally travel BA and their business class seating is far more comfortable and the seats have privacy.

"Professional efficient staff"

Trip Verified | On time departure and arrival both legs. (Similar experience on return leg NAP-FRA-MAN). Professional efficient staff. Basic catering in economy: sandwich (choice between meat and cheese), hot/cold drink or wine/beer etc. Good value - just what you need for short-haul in Europe.

"Service is impeccable"

Trip Verified | Munich to Vancouver. Business Class Seat 8A on a new A350 is on my opinion is the best seat on this aircraft, the last row of Business Class, with only one row in front of it, and divider to Premium Economy behind. Lots of space, away from galleys and far enough from lavatories. Two things that are inconvenient - the aircraft is extremely noisy and the noise cancelling headphones, attached to seats in Business Class are very bulky and impossible to sleep in. Ear plugs don't help with the noise. I've done this route three times in the past year, and I always choose 8A on MUC - YVR leg. Service is impeccable, food could be hit and miss, entertainment is great and the aircraft is not good, but that's what Lufthansa flies on this route, hence I don't have much choice. There is one more thing - for some reason Business Class on long haul flights seems to be heated to the point of turning into a sauna on a long haul flights, I've noticed that on every flight. But otherwise I am a loyal Lufthansa customer.

Lufthansa customer review

Trip Verified | Berlin to Frankfurt in June 2018. I was denied boarding because the flight was overbooked. So were the other flights to Frankfurt that day so after hours of waiting at the gate - during which I received no refreshments or food, I went to Frankfurt by train and arrived more than half a day later than scheduled - on what would have been a 50 minutes flight. After endless discussions with unfriendly Lufthansa ground staff a very friendly lady at the check-in counter issued a train ticket and after a very unpleasant ride in a crowded train I arrived in Frankfurt very late that day instead of mid-day.
