✅ Trip Verified | I booked this flight solely because it was by far the cheapest option for me to get to my destination on new year's eve. I hadn't known much about Garuda Indonesia before except for the fact that it's a 5 star airline. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. Everything from check-in, transfers, food, and service was excellent. I was travelling with my elderly relative (for whom we'd requested a wheelchair for), who was escorted by hand to her seat upon boarding - something which I've ever seen on another airline. We had a very tight connection in Jakarta (50 minutes) which was managed very well by ground staff at all airports. The ground staff at Melbourne Airport assured me that our luggage would be loaded onto the connecting flight. I was panicking when our flight from Melbourne departed slightly late due to our already tight connection, but the ground staff at Jakarta Airport were pre-prepared and were ready waiting for us to escort us quickly to our connecting flight and we thankfully made the connection. Overall a great experience!

✅ Trip Verified | Flew GA 88 Jakarta to Amsterdam. I was escorted from terminal kerb side by Garuda-Indonesia First Class Team member Vianda who helped me with check in, clearing security and immigration formalities and then through to the First-Class lounge. I had fruit platter in the lounge and soft drinks. The lounge team are extremely helpful and will go out of their way to help in anyway they can. When it came time for boarding Vianda assisted me to the aircraft door where, I was meet by the First-Class cabin crew Rizky, Rika, Marissa, Chef Chrisma who greeted me and directed me to my seat. During the flight I also met with one of the First Officers Agam who came out for a rest, and I really enjoyed the conversation with him and the cabin crew. It really is like flying with friends they treat you with a warm smile and they will go out of their way to help in any way they can. There was a good selection of food onboard including snack meals. The breakfast meal can be ordered for whatever time you want, therefore I chose for breakfast to be served 3 hours prior to landing. The quality of food, portion size and presentation were outstanding. I would also point out the overall cleanliness of the aircraft and the toilets are very well maintained. The cabin crew go in a deep clean after every person. I give total credit to the cabin crew. I also used the free Wi Fi, and the connectivity was excellent. When we arrived in Amsterdam Schiphol airport, we were met at the plane door by the Schiphol VIP Team who took me to the VIP centre where we go through immigration and check-in for my onward flight. This is another great service provided by Garuda-Indonesia, and it very convenient and avoids all the long queues. I would like to thank the Garuda-Indonesia First Class Team on the ground and to the First-Class Cabin crew for the outstanding services they provide.

✅ Trip Verified | My experience was subpar. On our outbound flight, the monitor at my seat was not functioning, and the seat rest was flimsy, barely holding its position when I tried to lean back. The overall condition of the plane was also not up to international standards. Unfortunately, our return flight was even worse. We were subjected to a passenger who slept and farted throughout the entire flight, filling the cabin with a terrible odor. When we brought this to the attention of one of the flight attendants, she was abrupt and unfriendly, showing no concern for our discomfort. To make matters worse, the passenger behind us was burping loudly throughout the flight. The seat rest issue persisted. The only redeeming aspect of our experience was the pleasant service we received from the hostess on our outbound flight. However, this was not enough to make up for the poor condition of the plane and the unacceptable behavior of the crew on our return flight. Overall, I would not recommend Garuda. The airline's failure to maintain its planes and provide adequate customer service is disappointing, to say the least.

I was picked up at home by a car provided by Garuda-Indonesia and was them met at the terminal kerb side by Garuda-Indonesia First Class Team Nidya Ahda who helped me with check in, security and through immigration formalities. Although the airport was very busy this process was very quick. In the Jakarta airport First-Class lounge there is full menu and drinks service available, however I chose a sandwich. When it came time for boarding Naiya assisted me to the aircraft door where, I was meet by the First-Class cabin crew Romad, Wanda, Cartika and Chef Angga who provided me with a very warm welcome. I was quite tired, therefore after a short snack after take-off I bedded down and had a very good sleep for 7 ~ 8 hours. There was a good selection of food available for breakfast. The breakfast meal can be ordered on demand, therefore I chose for breakfast to be served 3.5 hours prior to landing. The quality of food, portion size and presentation were outstanding, and refills of tea and coffee are none stop. When we arrived in Amsterdam Schiphol airport, we were met at the plane door by the Schiphol VIP Team who took me to the VIP centre where we go through immigration and check-in for my onward flight. This is also a great service, and it avoids all the queues. I used the onboard Wi Fi and the connectivity was very excellent. I would like to thank the Garuda-Indonesia First Class Team on the ground and to the Cabin crew for the outstanding service they provided.

✅ Trip Verified | Flew GA 89 Amsterdam to Jakarta from Madrid, Spain. Garuda-Indonesia had arranged with the Schiphol VIP Center to meet me at the plane door upon arrival from Madrid and I was taken to the VIP centre for check in, security and immigration formalities. This is a great service as it bypasses all queues. Within the VIP Lounge at Schiphol Airport there are full service including a full Al La Cart dining. When I it came time to board the aircraft, I was assisted by a member of the VIP team that took me by car to the aircraft stairs.. At the aircraft door I was meet by the cabin crew Fauziah Pradita, Maurenia, Ade Indrawati and Chef Aris Gumilar who give me a very warm welcome and guided me to my seat. The First Class Team gave outstanding service from boarding, in flight dining and general overall service There was a very good selection of food for both evening meal and for breakfast. The meals can be served on demand, however as I wanted to have some sleep I requested my meal two hours after take-off. The quality, portion and presentation of the food was outstanding. There was quite some turbulence throughout the flight, however I still had an excellent sleep. We were slightly delayed arriving in Jakarta, but this was caused by the delay in departing Schiphol as it is over 15 ~ 20 minutes taxi to the remote runway. When I arrived in Jakarta, I was meet at the aircraft door by Yudi from the First Class Team who help and assisted me through immigration, luggage collection and through customs and out to a car provided by Garuda-Indonesia to take me to my home. I used the onboard Wi Fi and connectifity and speed was excellent. This was another excellent flight, and I thank the Cabin crew for their outstanding service.

“Be careful about your cabin baggage”

✅ Trip Verified | Strange Carry-on luggage policy. Basically your carry-on luggage must fit into some strange metal frame the airline invented to measure your cabin baggage size. My luggage is sold as cabin baggage and all airlines I flew so far have allowed me to carry on this luggage into cabin. I flew Garuda from ICN to DPS right before and I could bring my cabin luggage into my seat and compartment. But suddenly I was not allowed to carry the same one into the cabin in this domestic route because mine does not fit into their metal frame. Of course they asked me to check in and charge me extra cost. I think it is a new scam that the airline invented to hassle passengers and to take your money at the airport. Be careful about your so-called cabin baggage when you fly this hopeless one. We fly FSC, instead of LCC, expecting some margin of leniency. But this Indonesian one does not have such a professional leniency.

✅ Trip Verified | Flew GA 88 Jakarta to Amsterdam. Garuda-Indonesia arranged a car to pick me up at my home and drop me off at Terminal-3. At the Drop off area Rudy from Garuda-First Class Team was on hand to assist me with Check in and security process. Traveling with Garuda in Business or First Class there is a special lane in the immigration, which can be used, and this is quite fast even when the airport is busy. I was then taken to the First-Class lounge where full A La Cart dining is available; however, I just went with the fruit platter as I wanted to wait for the on-board meals. The service team in the lounge are most helpful. When I it came time to board the aircraft, I was assisted by Rudy from the First Class Team who helped me through the boarding gate and on to the aircraft. At the aircraft door I was meet by the cabin crew Vivi, Jayanti, Inggo and Chef Sansan who give me a very warm welcome and guided me to my seat. The overall ambience of the First-Class section is excellent, and the crew keep the toilets exceptionally clean. The food and drink menus were extensive, and meals can be served on demand, and I enjoyed both meals severed. The onboard wif-fi had excellent connectivity. Garuda Indonesia First Class service is outstanding as they also include access to the VIP Lounge in Amsterdam Schiphol airport and all formalities for my transfer flight are taken care of including immigration.

✅ Trip Verified | Garuda Indonesia did a flight reschedule for January 2025 as they forgot to account for daylight saving time and shifted departure time from Sydney to Bali one hour earlier. This is a transit flight booked through a third party ticket agency so I asked to cancel that flight but was rejected and made to pay penalty fees for the time change. I was slapped with a rule that "flights reschedule within 90min time frame is not entitled to full refund". How can a National Carrier not know and account for daylight saving time when publishing flight schedules? And how can they still force customers to board the flight when they have rescheduled it and not according to the original time it was booked?

I started my journey from Berlin to Amsterdam and upon arrival in Amsterdam Garuda had arranged for the VIP centre team to pick me up at the gate. They brought me directly to the VIP lounge where all formalities were carried including immigration. When it came time for boarding, I was driven to the aircraft and boarded immediately. I was welcomed at the aircraft door by the cabin crew Victor, Rika, Herlin and Fauzi who provided me with an outstanding service throughout the flight. The onboard service throughout the flight was excellent as was the selection of food, drinks, and snacks. I had lunch which I really enjoyed the food as it was very well presented and tasted even better. The overall service provided from boarding, meal service, table service cleanliness of the bathrooms etc. was outstanding and I would like to say a big thank to both the cabin crew and Jakarta ground First Class Team for an providing me with outstanding experience. We arrived in Jakarta on schedule, and I was meet at the aircraft door by First Class Team member Hilman who escorted me through immigration, customs and out the car provided by Garuda to take me to my home.

✅ Trip Verified | Flew GA 863 Sorong to Jakarta. Check in although airport was busy the check in was fast and efficient. The Business Class lounge in Sorong is operated by a 3rd party and has very limited food, snacks, and drinks. Boarding was well controlled, and we pushed back from the gate on time. The flight itself was very good as was the onboard service from the cabin crew. I had ordered a special meal and it was served on request. We arrived in Jakarta on time, and I was met at the aircraft door by Vianda from the Garuda PSA ground support team, and she assisted me obtaining my luggage and escorted me to car that was provided by Garuda Indonesia to take me home. Another outstanding flight on Garuda Indonesia.
