"Economy class wasn't bad at all"
N Siotto (United Arab Emirates)
I flew Emirates Johannesburg to Dubai, and guess the flight comfort depends on the type of aircraft and how many passengers are onboard. In my case I was quite lucky. No queues at the airport, security, immigration and check-in went very fast. Onboard there was enough legroom space, large interactive screen with an amazing selection of entertainment and movies. Internet WI-FI on board 500 MB for just 1$, decent meal. I was on an aisle and no one was sitting next to me and this added some comfort of course. Staff was courteous and prompt. I have to say that for an eight hours flight in Economy class this one wasn't bad at all, I'd say excellent actually.

"it was a great flight"
20 reviews David Dale (Australia)
Sydney to Christchurch with Emirates, which was a codeshare flight with Qantas. Flight delayed by 2.5 hours due to late arrival from Bangkok so instead of departing at 9.25am, it wasn't until after midday. However, made up time in the air arriving at 4pm. Once in the air, service was excellent. Seated in 21K, in the last row of the front economy section, up against a toilet. Toilet was no bother though. With headphones, you hear nothing, and no smells. 3x4x3 seating with good pitch. Seat recline was great and I had no issues with reclining as no one behind. Good selection of entertainment options. Warm moist hand towels given upon departure. Menu with two choices. Food plentiful for this 2.5 hour flight. Flight was not full. Many seats spare. Seat beside me was free as it was for many seated on outside rows. Arrival into Christchurch was at a time when Emirates is the only international flight. So processing fast. Bags on belt within ten minutes of disembarking. From landing to airport exit was 15 minutes. Really good. Christchurch Airport is the best international airport in New Zealand. Apart from delay, it was a great flight.

"Check in at Houston was tiring"
Robin Fernandez (United States)
Check at Houston airport was tiring, arrived at the airport 1645 hours for 1900 hrs flight, passengers who were behind us were invited to the the check-in counter, we were last passengers to get boarding passes. Had to run to the aircraft check-in gate. Departed 25 minutes late as 4 passengers had to be offloaded. Arrived Dubai airspace around 1900 hrs hours next day, but told to fly around for 30 minutes due to heavy traffice. Onward flight to Trivandrum was on time, arrived Trivandrum at 0310 hours, ie. 10 minutes ahead of schedule.

"they served lunch instead of breakfast"
Rasheed Uddin (Pakistan)
I flew Emirates from Dubai to Karachi. My experience of in flight meal was astonishing. I boarded at 8am for this 2 hour flight, and when meal was served I was surprised to see a combo meal of curry, potato bhajee, cutlet, bread with jam and butter. This was like a lunch deal rather than breakfast. When I asked for the breakfast the staff replied they had only one type of meal. I can't understand why they served lunch instead of breakfast on such a quite early morning flight.

"overall a decent experience"
1 reviews Natalia Ignatenko (Germany)
Some delays, but Emirates was overall a decent experience on flight from Munich to Hong Kong via Dubai. Good food option on both legs, nice entertainment system. The seats could be more comfortable, but there is a lot of leg room.

"service not up to the mark"
M Rahman (United States)
On our way to Dubai they had the hardest time to get our boarding passes issued. After about an hour they figured out how to issue boarding passes. They still failed to issue boarding passes for both legs. We had to pick up Dubai-Dhaka boarding passes at Dubai. Inflight service was not up to the mark, flight attendants were not friendly, and didn't seem to care much about customer satisfaction. The hotel they provided in Dubai was a bad one.

"high expectations were met"
Hallvard Wie (Sweden)
I had high expectations on my first trip with Emirates and they were met. The food was tasty, I got a voucher for a meal at Dubai Airport. The transfer experience was pleasant. Cabin crew were friendly. Even though flying economy I was addressed by my name. The cabin was in good condition, space and legroom were good. The only thing I can criticize was that entertainment system was not functioning properly on one of the flights, but I slept most of the time and it didn't matter. It is a mystery why Emirates is not rated with 5 stars.

Emirates customer review
Karen King (United Kingdom)
Poor service with miserable staff. Very poor individual monitor reception (films kept sticking). Very stingy with the drinks trolley (soft drinks too). No snacks were given out. The towels handed out for cleaning your hands were bone dry. In all, a poor experience and the staff did not seem to care, and were simply going through the motions with a bad attitude.

Emirates customer review
Nandita Glazer (United States)
I first traveled with Emirates in March 2015 with my 10 year old son to Dubai. The Business Class service was appalling. The crew strutted around, barely taking orders and being completely inept. They served my son the wrong meal and did nothing to make him feel comfortable. They ended up losing my luggage on arrival, such that I was left with no clothes for the first 24 hours. I decided to give them a second chance and this time all 4 of us, (including my 10 year old and 5 year old), flew from NYC to Dubai and on to Bombay in mid August returning 3 days ago. Once again, the service on board was completely disorganized. On boarding, my 5 year old son's seatbelt had dried food all over it. I asked the steward to clean it and he handed me a warm towel and told me to do it myself. When I asked for my dessert to be given to my 5 year old instead of listening to me the stewardess said, "You only get oreo cookies as dessert with a child's "economy" meal". First off, I had paid $4000 per ticket for our Business Class tickets so the concept of "child's economy meal" didn't arise. I will never fly them again.
