The cabin staff are very friendly but their English language is very poor. No menu was offered in business class and the food offered linguistically very ambiguous. IFE is horribly poor.

✅ Trip Verified | Excellent management of check-in, the boarding was smooth, cabin crew were attentive and spoke clear good English, the food was plentiful and tasty with fresh fruits, and drinks including wines were served twice with every meal including breakfast. The seats are clean, good leg space, and Excellent inflight entertainment with plentiful movies on long-haul flights. All flights were on schedule. Their website is slow, in Chinese so Google Translate needs to be used, not easy to book through their website, so forced to use an aggregator, and their direct website price is almost double that the online aggregator. Need to pay upfront to reserve a seat. Unable to do online check-in. Need to undergo slow security, immigration and documents check at Guangzhou when you are in transit.

✅ Trip Verified | I really appreciate all the help from China southern airline. I had a foot injury during my travel in Guangzhou, and I was not able to move into narrow space. The staff was very friendly and help me to select an aisle seat. Flight attendants were very considerate and frequently come over to check on my need. My heart is touched by their patience and passion. I have a wonderful flight. For sure I will select China southern airline as my flight again and also recommend China southern airline to my friends and family.

✅ Trip Verified | A350 from Kuala Lumpur to Brisbane via Guangzhou. Boarding was organised in KUL by row number but not in Guangzhou Airport where there was no announcement and everyone just queued up and boarded randomly. The aircraft was clean and seats were very comfortable, adequate legroom and width, even for me a big guy. The IFE was good with a huge selection of movies but no TV series. The food was mediocre at best but they did serve a full hot meal on KUL-CAN sector and two hot meals from CAN-BNE, which was unusual. Beverage offerings were decent but only Chinese beer was available. The staff were very professional and worked hard although they were a bit abrupt at times. Overall, this airline is cheap and cheerful and in my experience, reliable. One of the drawbacks of Guangzhou Baiyun airport is that often the A350s seem to be parked at a remote stand which entails a 10 minute bus ride which seems to last forever!

Smooth and punctual flight, smooth transit even a bit strict checking, lovely stewardess checking on safety frequently. No issues with English speaking. Guangzhou airport was nice too. I'd recommend it.

"an issue with one of our visas"

✅ Trip Verified | We were checked in at London Heathrow, bags were sent. We then realised there was an issue with one of our visas. We advised the check in staff of this visa issue, and our bags had to be pulled as it meant I could not fly. Staff were grateful for us informing them, as they were meant to have checked our visas at checkin, so they would have received a large penalty. While this issue was being sorted we asked about rescheduling our flight, but we’re told this would be dealt with after we had our bags back. Once we got our bags back however all staff had disappeared, and no one could assist with rescheduling, they advised we speak to our travel agent. The airport was now empty. We spoke to our travel agents as advised, but they required just a written email to confirm that we had been checked in and then our bags had been pulled (simply an outline of the situation). We went back to China southern airline staff several times the next day to ask about this and spoke to the supervisor, however they continued to refuse to write any email or provide any confirmation of what had happened. This meant our travel agents could not help us and we were stuck in our situation.

Not Verified | The cabin staff were polite professional and helpful. Having taken our seats which I'd re-booked them making sure no one would be sat behind us. The 1st meal wasn't to my liking but I'm not keen on fish or any seafood so my hubby had both and thoroughly enjoyed it. Breakfast was OK sausage tomatoes mushrooms scrambled eggs etc which was pleasant. In between we were offered drinks from water to wine. Leg room was OK tv good. Hopefully our journey home will be the same. Overall a good experience 9 out of 10.
