"pleased with all aspects"

Trip Verified | Vancouver to Lima via Dallas Ft Worth. I was very pleased with all aspects of both legs of the flight to Lima.The departures were punctual, the seats and seat pitch were surprisingly comfortable and the meals were above average.The crew were are all friendly, courteous and efficient.The only shortcoming, which did not, which did not happen to bother me, was that in flight entertainment was extremely limited.

"worst domestic airline ever"

Trip Verified | Philadelphia to Northwest Arkansas via Chicago. Airline departs Philadelphia on time. Lands in Chicago at 0855hrs. The plane sits on the tarmac for 30min causing me to miss my connecting flight. I ran to my connecting gate to be told the gate was closed. I could see people inside the door. I knocked on the door to let them know I was outside. No response. I found a 'supervisor' and complained. She said she could put me on the next flight but said the problem was mine. I informed the supervisor that the airlines set the times. American Airlines is never on time. Never! American Airlines has got to be the worst domestic airline ever.

"I'm always delayed"

Trip Verified | Los Angeles to Charlotte. Why does it seem that every time I fly on an American Airlines operated flight the planes are broken. I'm always delayed due to something not working on the plane. Today, I was booked on a 0830 trip to CLT, but that didn't happen because it was broken. So after 3 and a half hours we got on the next flight out and surprise, surprise, that ones not working either. Thanks American Airlines for holding me up hours on my trips constantly.

"Fantastic service"

Not Verified | Dublin to Orlando via Philadelphia. I have an extremely bad fear of flying. The cabin crew could not have been more accommodating from the first minute. Re-seated us at no charge to a more comfortable section at the middle of the plane, and checked in regularly, explaining every noise and bump. Fantastic service and left me feeling incredibly grateful. No complaints about the comfort or level of service, all top quality for a bargain price.

"Horrible customer service"

Not Verified | Honolulu to St. Louis. Horrible customer service. Employee at the gate held up the line and made me “consolidate” my purse into my husbands laptop bag. 2 people get a total 2 carry ons and 2 personal items. We had 4 as we were allowed. No need to be rude and bossy. It’s not necessary. Flying is already stressful and uncomfortable. I don’t need rude employees making it worse. Flight was out of food. Dr Pepper. Both my original and return flights offered WiFi for a fee. Wasn’t able to use it. It was disconnected one way and cut out the other route. But they sure did take my money. Never American. Never again

"Shame on you AA"

Trip Verified | London to Chicago. I’ve arrived to Chicago and I realized that the stroller I was bringing to my grand daughter was broken. I contact American Airlines 2 days after my arrival to Chicago. They finally got back to me after 3 weeks! To make a long story short they refused to compensate me for something because I didn’t have the receipt from the stroller. In other works, according to AA, we have to keep all the receipts for purchases above $150 until the time we die just in case we will travel with them and they broke or destroy our personal items. This is unfortunately the customer service companies like American Airlines offer to their customers. Now, I have to buy a new stroller and apologize to my 3 year old grand daughter why she never received her favorite stroller. Shame on you AA.

"never were seated together"

Not Verified | Tucson to Tokyo via Los Angeles. I recently took an AA round trip ticket to Japan. On all segments of the flight my husband and I never were seated together although we were booked together. You had to pay minimum an extra $40 for assigned seating. Those weren't cheap tickets to start with. Throughout the trip we had the chance to witness and talk to a number of couples who were experiencing the same thing. One case was so obvious. Where there were 3 seats, an American couple was split by a Japanese girl who was sitting in the middle. They asked her if she wanted to sit by the window and managed to travel side by side. In the automated check in stalls at the airport it was rather irritating how AA kept requesting whether we wanted to upgrade class, seating, meals etc. That is so low class behavior. I personally am not looking forward to travelling AA again.

"worst customer service ever"

Not Verified | I will never fly American Again, this was the worst customer service ever. Six hours on the tarmac - after3 hours it was back to the gate by federal law, however not long enough to get something to eat, then back on the tarmac for 2 more hours. Ten finally we are ready for take off, the plane starts to throttle up on the runway but then suddenly throttles back and exits the runway, to be told the crew had been on duty too long to fly and it is only about a 40 minute flight. So then it was supposed to be back to the gate but there are no available gates. 1 more hour on the tarmac, no ac, the plane was way to hot. I could see from my window seat at least 3 empty gates probably not American. We were told many times the reason for so many delays, was Little Rock is a small airport, all the more reason to be adaptable. How companies respond to a problem is everything.

"My experience was so bad"

Trip Verified | Chicago to Raleigh Durham. This airline nickel & dimes passengers for everything and penalizes us for purchasing an economy ticket by putting you in a middle seat in the back of the plane when you can finally check in online. My flight to Chicago I got stuck in the middle next to a non-stop burping passenger; my flight on my way back, I'm in the middle & praying i don't sit next to her or someone worse tomorrow. I can see their tactic which has only encouraged me to never fly American again. Why not put ticket prices that includes everything (overhead storage, seat selection, etc) as base price instead of separating everything? I can't believe any other airline (besides Southwest) could make United look good, I was wrong and greatly disappointed. If your gonna spend $$$ on a plane ticket, save some & don't go American. My experience was so bad I'm actually considering Delta for my next trip.

"I was so disappointed"

Not Verified | Flew Fort Lauderdale to Charlotte via Tennessee. I was so disappointed with American Airlines, no TV unless you pay extra for the service. No wifi unless you pay extra. I paid $1000 for the flight so we should have recieved at least free wifi. My husband and I were traveling together and they put us in different seats and different rows. I had to ask other people on the flight if they would switch seats because I have a fear of flying and I need my husband there to be comfortable, I won't fly with American again.
