LGW to HKG return. I was pleasantly surprised with this airline. The staff were actually interested in the passengers and polite and hard working. There was no amenity kit but we did get hot towels. The food was tasty and plenty of it. Sensibly they only served a light snack on the very early departure from Dubai. We were late leaving London but made up the time and caught our connection. Plenty of films to watch. The seats were comfortable especially on the A380.It made a nice change to go from Gatwick.

SYD-DXB-CDG-BCN-DXB-SIN all on the A380. I have just completed 4 legs internationally with this airline and could not fault them. My first leg was with a fabulous crew of young female flight attendants. I was travelling with my husband and my 9 year old daughter. My daughter was treated like an absolute princess. My daughter was given flight packs and a child's meal (which I didn't request). The service was excellent and served with a smile and professional manner. The food was lovely better than expected. The food was some of the loveliest presented airline food I have had. The cabin toilets were always kept clean and dry. The inflight entertainment ICE is second to none. The seats were Ok but as I was travelling economy I wasn't expecting a lounge room. You get what you pay for.

Used a bus to board our connecting flight to HAM at Dubai. We had to carry our baby and stand in the bus during 20-30 minutes bus ride. No seats available. We had our hand luggage as well. It was a horrible experience. We paid more money to buy the tickets from Emirates - tickets were almost half the price on another airline. It was our first time with Emirates and we expected to have good service for the price we paid. I would not recommend Emirates.

Recently flew AMS-DBX-BKK the first time that I deviated from my favourite SQ. Flight left AMS 75m late and approaching DBX was put in a holding pattern for over an hour. That - and the fact that the A380 was parked about 25m by bus away the terminal - left me very little time to catch my connecting flight even though I was in the second bus. Surprisingly on reaching the terminal there was no ground staff around - there must have been many people missing connections - and after security I had to walk a long distance and eventually did not make it in time. After queuing for over an hour in front of an understaffed Emirates transit desk I finally got booked onto a later flight and spent the following 5h in the Emirates Business lounge. That following flight - a 777 - left an hour late too. Was lucky that my Emirates chauffeur-drive was still available in BKK. The flights were otherwise uneventful. Seating on both planes was good but definitely less roomy than on SQ's 777. Food was OK service on board friendly. My return flight is coming up and hopefully that will be a better experience transit- wise. Will withhold my recommendation of Emirates to others till after that event. Again I was very much surprised that nobody was meeting the transit passengers arriving over 2h late. In similar situations at Changi/Singapore SQ staff is there to either get you to your plane in time or if it too late altogether make immediate arrangements to get you to your destination as soon as possible.

Shanghai Pudong-Dubai-Shanghai Pudong recently on A380 positive sides - amazing entertainment comfortable seat both flights on time. Downside - poor food and beverage quality no water/any food between light meal and breakfast - it's a 10hr flight! EK is far below SQ/QR or even KL in terms of service!

The seats are uncomfortable the staff service is poor they take along time to come when we need them. They use a big portion of time chatting with each other rather than actually serving the passengers. Slow serving meals and taking the empty trays. There should be more water and juice runs I'm unsatisfied and definitely won't recommend them to anyone I know.

LGW-DXB-CMB-DXB-LGW. All flights economy class on B777-300ER. My first time flying with Emirates and a good experience overall. All flights on time. Comfortable seats but on the 777 you would not want to be sat next to a large person as the seats are 10-abreast in economy rather than the usual 9. Excellent touch screen entertainment using ICE system. Very good food served. Sadly Dubai International is not big enough for the large numbers of passengers and was heaving and cramped. Overall a good experience but Singapore Airlines is still my favourite.

B777 from MAN to DXB in Economy. Ok but nothing special. Hard to get comfortable in seat and food average. Service passable but no more. Onward flight to Sydney on A380 and got a surprise but very welcome upgrade to Business Class at Boarding gate. Huge difference for a 13 hour leg. Able to sleep in lie flat seat. IFE very good on big screen and drinks top class. Service good but food only average and nothing special for Business Class.

AMS-DXB-PER with first 6h30m leg in Business on A380 and second 10h15m in First on 777-300ER. Business class on the A380 offers an excellent experience with the best IFE there is a comfortable and cosy seat that sits well in all positions (including fully-flat bed). The drinks on offer are also excellent best cappuccino there is in the clouds but the food is very average with the menu not changing often and the mains being the true letdown. Transfer at DXB T3 very efficient as always. First on the 777-300ER is truly great with private suites an excellent seat that converts in a very comfortable bed (am 192cm tall) fine a la carte dining huge tv screen. As good as it gets!

Very good airline but unfortunately the boarding/disembarking procedures at Dubai airport are a nightmare. Except for flights operated with A380 which are parked at gates for many flights operated with B777 and A330 the airplanes are parked at remote stands which means long (20 to 40 minutes) transfers by bus between planes and the terminal building. I do not recommend flying with Emirates unless on the A380.
