"I will not fly Delta again"
V Garner (United States)
✅ Trip Verified | While the flight was fine even in economy my complaint is that despite the warnings to check your seat for all your belongings before deplaning in Rapid City I was interrupted by a fellow passenger and forgot my bag containing my noise cancelling headphones ($40) in the seat. I believe the cleaning crew either at Rapid City airport or Minneapolis airport where the plane returned to simply found and kept my headphones. That is theft. I was specific about the appearance of the missing item (blue soft bag with noise cancelling headphones) and the seat 6D. There is no way that the cleaning crew did not find it. The only other choice is if another passenger saw it and took it. I will not fly Delta again.

“Rude staff experience”
N Irving (United States)
✅ Trip Verified | Rude staff experience with Sergio! On a Flight from FLL to LAX, Nov 18 2024 on 7:40. No seat assigned 2 days before Flight. No place for the carry-on and they over staffed with other people’s luggage. When I tried explaining to a team member called Sergio that I had to bring my luggage in as that's why I choose Delta, he was so rude and immediately threatened me saying he'll re-assign me to a different Flight. Then when I tried explaining I have a buissnes meeting I literally heard him copycat my words to a other team member saying "business meeting ahh". So rude. I'd never fly with them again. I'd take Spirit, Jetblue or Frontier before this experience any given day.

"the service was top notch"
Peter Pomeranze (United States)
✅ Trip Verified | The consistency of Delta up front needs to be recognized. My fourth flight in a week and despite the various lengths and aircraft the service was top notch. This particular plane has got to be the most comfortable narrow body around. Of course 2-2 seating but other than that generous legroom and wide enough seats. The food was quite good(all on one tray) the IFE was wonderful and the flight attendant serving our cabin mostly alone was so kind and extremely efficient. Wi fi is so inconsistent on this route and we are warned in an email that it might not be available yet it’s works perfectly and is free.

“it was a pleasant experience”
Peter Pomeranze (United States)
✅ Trip Verified | Although this was over a four hour flight in a wide body1-2-1 configuration it was clearly not Delta One. The differences being no club access, no pillow or blanket and a reduced meal service. Despite all this it was a pleasant experience which, for me, has included the typical pleasant, efficient cabin crew. The breakfast (pictured) was totally adequate and IFE excellent. Really no complaints except a blanket and pillow would have been nice for an over four hour trip with a lay flat seat. By the way I keep hearing about free Delta Wi-Fi and haven’t experienced it once.

“zero empathy for people with disabilities”
H Simpson (United Kingdom)
✅ Trip Verified | Delta have zero empathy for people with disabilities. Their "accessible" procedure is long and complicated and then they don't follow through on what they promise. We recently flew from Orlando to Amsterdam and requested assistance on the flight - they ignored our requests multiple times and we had a horrendous experience on-board the flight because of it. They discriminated against disabilities and not interested in my voice regarding this. Their customer care supervisor Jacob Costillo has not taken my complaint seriously, palming me off with pathetic copy-and-paste responses, saying the matter is closed. I have forwarded my complaints for the U.S Department of Transportation and implore that other people think before booking a flight with Delta.

“cabin staff was genuinely gracious”
Peter Pomeranze (United States)
✅ Trip Verified | From start to finish including everything in between this flight was perfection. The comfort, the food, which was actually delicious for a change, the IFE, but most importantly the crew. Literally the entire cabin staff was genuinely gracious and efficient in every manner. I observed many of their interactions with passengers and each other and flawless is the word. I was happily compelled to tell as many as I could how impressed and grateful I was. I rarely complain and mostly expect things not to be up to par so this was a welcome surprise.Generally my Delta cabin crew experiences are good but this was perfect.

"service has deteriorated significantly"
John Crowell (United States)
Not Verified | I booked a direct flight from Seattle to San Diego, departing at 9:50 AM and arriving at 12:43 PM. After receiving six delay notifications, I spoke to five different agents over the phone and interacted with two Customer Service (CS) agents onsite. The first onsite agent did nothing to help, but the second agent put us on standby for the 11:45 AM flight to San Diego, which was already full, so we didn't get on. Through online chat, an agent offered us 6,000 miles per person (for my wife and me) plus $50 each. I found this offer insulting and declined, not wanting to settle for something inadequate. The onsite agent gave us two $12 lunch coupons, which weren't enough for a decent meal at the airport. As notifications kept coming, our departure was rescheduled to 3:17 PM, with an arrival in San Diego at 6:30 PM. After one more call, a helpful agent automatically booked us on another flight to San Diego at 3:35 PM while keeping us on the original flight, ensuring we had a backup. We decided to wait for the 3:35 PM flight since our original one had significant mechanical issues. We eventually arrived in San Diego at 6:20 PM. We missed two meetings, a lunch with friends, and a planned ride to the hotel, forcing us to use public transportation and buy dinner, missing another planned dinner with friends. This was a funeral trip, making the delays emotionally draining. We experienced nearly a six-hour delay, and Delta didn’t handle this as they should have. After the trip, I filed a complaint as advised by the agents. Delta gave us 4,000 miles each, which was less than what was initially offered via chat, and offered $50 vouchers. Despite not agreeing to this compensation, they added the miles to our accounts. I requested a refund, citing a new DOT mandate that requires refunds for domestic flights delayed by three hours or more, which was ignored because our flight was three days before the mandate took effect. I reported this to the DOT online but have not received feedback yet. Delta’s service has deteriorated significantly.

"worst customer service experience"
Rhea Banerjee (India)
Not Verified | My flight was rescheduled four times. Finally, when we boarded the plane and settled in, they announced that the flight had been canceled because one of the pilots hadn’t arrived. After standing in line for hours, until midnight, I finally had the chance to speak with the airport staff. I was informed that there were no available seats for the next two days. It took a great deal of persuasion and insistence before I was booked on a flight with a lower category ticket for the following day. I ended up waiting at the airport, sitting in a chair, for nearly 24 hours. They did not compensate me for the difference in ticket price, nor did they provide a hotel voucher or food voucher. Having traveled extensively with various airlines around the globe, I can confidently say that this has been the worst customer service experience I have ever encountered.

"Comfortable seats, but nothing else"
68 reviews A Bardel (Germany)
✅ Trip Verified | Comfortable seats, but nothing else. Upfront at premium price for a cup of coffee and a (modest) bag of cookies on a two hour flight on an early (7am) morning flight. Why is a breakfast not possible to serve? The most questionable was the lavatory, probably the most disgusting thing I have seen on a plane: dirty, old, and outworn. Comparisons would be here out of line, simply it was disgusting.

“efficient service”
68 reviews B Aber (Germany)
✅ Trip Verified | Unproblematic check in and departure from the very nice Delta Terminal at Detroit. Excellent boarding process. Uneventful flight, including efficient service with a round of drinks and a little snack, actually far better than what meanwhile one gets from nearly all European “Full Service Airlines” when flying short- and medium haul.
