✅ Trip Verified | 3 flights there and 3 flights back. On the way there 2 flights were delayed over 2 hours because of maintenance. On the way back my middle flight from Charlotte to Fargo was delayed due to more “maintenance” - let’s call it what it is tho, incompetence. So now I have 11 hours to sit around in Chicago. I wasn’t planning on this so I need to pay for lunch and dinner. On top of the fact my dog will be staying at the kennel an additional day as my flight won’t make it home until late. So that’s an additional 100 for picking up my dog a day late, plus lunch and dinner I wasn’t planning on spending. No discount, no upgrade, no nothing. Just a generic “sorry” Just pure incompetence from the worst airline I have ever flown and will never fly again. Avoid this failing company like the plague and fly with any other airline, even spirit airlines is better than this kindergarten level of quality of service.

Not Verified | The worst airline ever. I had to catch 4 different aircraft because of “technical issues”. I missed the 3 connecting flights and they had us waiting for hours! How is it possible that the 3 aircraft have technical issues and we had to wait for maintenance to clear the issue? I’m currently on another connecting flight and there is another technical issue waiting to be cleared. Unacceptable.

✅ Trip Verified | This was a very short flight from Charlotte North Carolina to Philadelphia. We were under an hour and 20 minutes in the air. We left on time and arrived ahead of schedule. Having recently flown about the same distance or a little bit more on a Boeing 737 MAX 800 I have to say that the Airbus A321 feels a little bit more roomier. We did not have service on this flight due to turbulence, but the crew made an announcement that if anyone needed anything that they could request. I continue to be a big fan of the free Wi-Fi that I get through my cell phone provider that makes the time go so much faster even in bad turbulent weather. Overall American delivered a consistent, safe and on-time product. Thank you AA!

Not Verified | If you are traveling across the United States, do not take this airline. There were so many delays for the revisits or go back home. The recent airplane we are in there was no AC, the pilots were missing and our 11:00pm flight was delayed to the point we have to wait until 6:00am to arrive back home. If you want to travel, you’re better off taking another airline.

✅ Trip Verified | American Airlines took me from Philadelphia to Charlotte safe and on time. Our flight left on time and arrived 30 minutes ahead of schedule, the crew was efficient during service, WIFI on board worked great, and it was free with my cell phone provider. I’ve recently flown on a 737 Max 8 and I feel the A321 was a bit more roomier. Overall nothing negative to say. Good job AA!

✅ Trip Verified | My husband I were scheduled to fly from Las Vegas to Germany via London. Our flight to USA as well as back to Europe was booked with British Airways, but as it always is flights within the USA are operated with a partner company, which in this case was American Airlines. Vegas to Dallas departed on November 4th. We were late departing to begin with (about 30 minute late departure). Still we weren't as concerned. Upon landing in Dallas our plane started driving around the runway - driving and driving and driving. Panic started, not only for us but many other passengers on the flight who were connecting thru Dallas. After 35 minutes, the pilot finally pulls up at the gate and tells us that the reason for the delayed parking is the fact that he was given the wrong gate when we landed to from terminal A he had to drive all the way to Terminal D. Is there anyone waiting for us at the gate to pick us up and transfer us to our departing gate considering our flight is already boarding? No. We are left to run like mad, dashing across the whole entire terminal in order to get to our gate. 30 passengers from our flight are trying to get onto British Airways flight to London. Finally we get there only to be told that we can not board as the gate has been closed (plane is still sitting there!). After 1.5 hrs in the queue, We get re-scheduled on a flight to London for the next day. However, not on the British Airways flight in a Premium economy as our initial booking but we get put on an AA flight, in economy seats, with a fold out table that's barely hanging on the hinges and our food tray is leaning at at a 30 degree angle when placed on the table. My husband and I are literally supporting the table with our knees so we can have our meal. Absolute nightmare of a return flight which brought us home with 26 hour delay. Never again!

Not Verified | The personnel at K16 gate working flight AA1200 around 11:45 am were extremely unprofessional and selective on who to harass. One of the ladies in her ignorant wisdom decided that my backpack, which standing next to a carry on is smaller, was too big. She made me waste time. I feel she took out her frustration of a full flight on me. Her assessment was unfounded.

Not Verified | First of all, I had to drive around for over an hour to find parking. I finally parked and had 1 hour to get to my gate. When I checked in they told me that I was too late and issued me a stand by flight. With 45 minutes until my flight? This is unacceptable because I had plenty of time to get to the gate and board, but because they gave my flight to someone else. I have to be In Oklahoma today for a wedding rehearsal and wedding, so now I don’t know if I will make it. Very disappointed. Never had this issue with Southwest Airlines. Sorry to say that I will never use this airline again.

✅ Trip Verified | Flight AA674 on November 7th 2023 was a nightmare. We were stuck in the plane for 2 hours in scorching hot and sunny 91 F weather. While waiting in the airplane, airline crew never served us any cold drinks. For the 2 hour waiting period, we got only several updates from pilot staff. First update was , "We are waiting for tech to show up and complete safety log". Next update was 1 hour later , "The tech arrived and did the checks but he can't log in into online log system." Another half an hour later, the pilot said, "We decided to do paper log because we couldn't figureout online log system". It took them 1.5 hour to realize paper form exists! Every company has downtime forms. Does American airline company know that there is such a thing as downtime forms. Why does it take a big company like Americans Airlines 1.5 hour to figure it logging? Next update from pilot we got 2 hours after scheduled take off time, "Sorry for delay. We had technical issues with oxygen tanks, so that's why you had to wait all this time. We are replacing 5 oxygen tanks on our airplane." So why couldn't the pilot be honest in the beginning? As a customer, I deserve to have a truthful update from airline staff. This incident definitely broke my trust in American Airlines. Being stuck in hot and full airplane for 2 hours with no attempts of the staff to do anything about it to alleviate the discomfort was utterly humiliating. Not to mention that we missed our connecting flight because of very long and painful flight delay.

Not Verified | I've always considered AA to be generic standard quality at reasonable price, and have never been disappointed on that note. I can't really think of anything special either positive or negative. I have had some delayed baggage on occasion, as I did the most recent time. It was returned to me within 24hrs. I watched a bag handler just leave the doors open on the trolley and drop bags out of it this same trip. That's about it, really just mid-tier every which way. I've never had a major issue with them, so that's positive enough. Can't remember a serious flight delay or cancellation, and I probably fly with them twice a year. I would say their seats are a bit above average on comfort, though with limited recline of like 5 degrees. You don't get much food with them, though, really underwhelming. Did a 4hr flight and got a cookie.
