Air China introduce their new Boeing 777-300 and A330 products in July 2011 (see
below), that will offer
passengers in First and Business Class the latest high quality flatbed seating, as well as
AVOD entertainment across all cabin classes. By the end of 2011 over 40 per cent of the Air China
long haul fleet will be equipped with their new product standards, rising to over 70 per cent during 2012.
New catering concepts across the all cabins has significantly improved the passenger experience on
both long and short haul flights, and customers can now expect a very competitive product when taking Air China flights.
Edward Plaisted, Chairman and CEO of Skytrax: "Air China has made great strides in the last 6-months and
the airline's 4-Star ranking is well-deserved. Skytrax star ranking audit examines more than
800 areas of product and service delivery, both on the ground and in the air. The assessment provides an
accurate and independent guide for travellers around the world, and Air China passengers can look
forward to a much higher quality of product and service."
Skytrax, which is recognised worldwide as a leading independent authority on airline quality and
assessment, has been completing flight checks with Air China since the end of 2010 and extensively
examined all product and service delivery areas across both international and domestic routes.
Air China's 4 Star Airline ranking signifies that the airline has achieved a good standard of product across all travel categories, with standards of staff service delivery in both the onboard and airport environments also being well ranked.
Currently, Air China operates a fleet of 400 aircraft on 280 routes, serving over 31 countries and regions
with over 1,400 flights per day. Air China is China's only national flag carrier and a Star Alliance member.
In addition to commercial operations, it also provides special flight services for the country's state leaders on official visit to other countries.
