Aeroflot Russian Airlines is awarded 4-Star Airline Rating

London, UK : Aeroflot Russian Airlines has been awarded the coveted 4-Star Airline Certification by SKYTRAX, the world’s leading airline and airport rating agency.
In an Award ceremony held at The Savoy Hotel London, Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax presented the 4-star Airline certification to Mr Vitaly Saveliev, the Chairman and CEO of Aeroflot Russian Airlines.
Speaking at the 4-Star Airline Certification, Mr Vitaly Saveliev, CEO of Aeroflot said: “Skytrax expertise and independence is unparalleled in our industry, which is why this award is such an honour for us and recognition of our considerable efforts over the years to make the Aeroflot brand synonymous with quality. This is a huge win for the entire Aeroflot team – from our ground staff to the cabin crew to the men and women in the flight deck – they are the ones that make our commitment to quality a reality every day.”
In presenting the Certification, Mr Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax said: “We are delighted to be recognising Aeroflot today on achieving the 4-Star Airline rating. The Aeroflot customer experience has undergone a remarkable quality change and continuous improvement over the last few years, throughout which period Skytrax has closely monitored the progress across their long haul, regional and domestic services. Of paramount importance has been the significant improvement in Aeroflot staff service standards, not only in service systems but the way in which Aeroflot has achieved a service culture that is now young, vibrant and contemporary.”
Aeroflot achieves rating upgrade
From its hub at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport, Aeroflot operates a fleet of more than 160 aircraft flying to 125 domestic and International destinations. The Aeroflot fleet of Boeing, Airbus and brand new Sukhoi Superjet aircraft is one of the youngest airline fleets in the world, with an average aircraft age of just 4.4 years. Aeroflot’s latest Boeing 777-300 features flat bed seats in Business Class and a Premium Economy cabin with a 38-inch seat pitch. Economy Class offers a 31-inch seat pitch with full AVOD entertainment and USB power at each seat.
Aeroflot is one of the few European airlines to offer a proper Business Class seat (2×2) on its regional fleet of A320 family aircraft. The airline has recently upgraded the IFE product in Business Class and customers are now offered the latest Samsung Galaxy tablets with a broad range of movie and TV options.
IFE content has grown across all aircraft to offer more than 160 Hollywood, Russian and International movie options. All Boeing 777 / A330 offer full AVOD entertainment systems and customers can access WiFi and cell phone service on the majority of widebody aircraft.
Onboard catering has undergone a major improvement – in Business Class customers can dine-on-demand on long haul and regional European flight sectors from a menu that offers the best of Russian and International cuisine. In Premium Economy Class, customers dine from the Business Class menu on porcelain tableware. Economy Class meals remain hearty and even for shorter European sectors customers can expect to receive a hot entrée. Across long and short haul flights there has been a strong focus on improving the quality of meals in recent years.
Aeroflot’s staff service is an area that has seen significant improvement, not only in service systems but the service culture is now young, vibrant and contemporary. Aeroflot cabin staff provide a motivated and efficient service, doing so with a smile. Aeroflot has achieved a real turnaround in the customer experience, and now in 2016 delivers a quality level that disproves any outdated perceptions of Aeroflot service standards.
