The Award for Best Business Class Lounge goes to Virgin Atlantic, for their London Heathrow Airport "Clubhouse", voted into
first place ahead of Cathay Pacific's Hong Kong Business class lounges in 2nd place.
Commenting on the award, Edward Plaisted (CEO of Skytrax) said "this is a hotly contested section of the Awards, and our
congratulations go to Virgin Atlantic for securing this win. Business class passengers are a very demanding lot, and with
the extensive range of high quality business lounges around the world, it is a great accolade for Virgin to get this vote
of approval and satisfaction."
Virgin Atlantic's Clubhouse at Heathrow is over 2,500 square metres in total, with interiors designed to feel like a
private members’ club.
The Clubhouse provides the ultimate pre-flight experience for every passenger with an array of exciting new and unique areas.
Passengers can enjoy a stylish haircut in the salon from Bumble and bumble; relax in the spa pool or sauna; choose from
a range of Cowshed treatments; enjoy a game of pool in the Den; a blockbuster film in the Cinema; enjoy a delicious cocktail
at the 14 metre long bar; and choose from the extensive Brasserie menu for a richer dining experience before their flight.
Steve Ridgway, CEO of Virgin Atlantic, commented "We're thrilled that our Heathrow Clubhouse has been
chosen as the world's best haven for business travellers. Whether it's on the ground or in the air,
our teams will never stop delivering the innovative products that all travellers should experience
during their journeys. Thankyou to everyone who voted for us."
