Rounding off the 2012 Airline Star Ranking announcements, Skytrax have announced that VIRGIN AMERICA has been awarded the 4-Star Airline certification. Virgin America
becomes only the second US carrier to gain this high level rating, since the ranking programme introduction in 1999.

Commenting on the Award, Edward Plaisted of Skytrax said: "We are delighted to see Virgin America entering this high-end Quality Ranking category, and the 4-Star Airline Award recognises the success that this hybrid airline is enjoying across the

The world-renowned Skytrax Airline Star Ranking programme covers all types and sizes of airline across the globe, with another 36 airlines due to be certified and admitted to the programme during 2013. Each airline's Star Rating is based upon detailed Quality analysis across more
than 800 different areas of product and service delivery items.
The 4-Star Airline Ranking is the seal of Quality Approval awarded to airlines supplying a good Quality performance. The unique 4-Star Airline ranking recognises those airlines achieving a good standard
of Product across all travel categories, together with delivering good standards of Staff Service in both the Onboard and Airport environments.
The Airline Star Ranking programme operates a continuous policy of internal review within Skytrax, and further details of planned changes and potential Star Ranking upgrade
items will be published again during January 2013.
