"food selection was decent"

(Singapore)

Verified Review | The Plaza Premium lounge was busy when I arrived on 5 Mar. It took me sometime to locate an available seat. The food selection was decent and lots of staff on hand to clear up after guests have left. There were limited shower rooms but I was fortunate to get access to one quite quickly for a nice hot shower. Quality towels, shampoo, conditioner, etc, supplied.

"fine for third-party lounges"

(Malaysia)

Plaza Premium operates four lounges at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (and the company has other concessions at the airport). You can use Priority Pass at all of them. There's one at the satellite terminal at KLIA that is also used as a third-party lounge by several full-service airlines. Frankly I'd be very disappointed if I was travelling in business class with a full service airlines and they dumped me in there as the F&B at none of the Plaza Premium lounges in Kuala Lumpur are up to the levels that you expect from an airline lounge. However, this review is about the three lounges at KLIA2 or the LCCT as Air Asia calls it. If you're travelling on a domestic flight then you have no choice but to use the land-side lounge in the shopping centre that lies in front of the check-in area. There's no lounge in the domestic departures area at all. This isn't a problem as the domestic security check is generally quick but the lounge is a minimum of 20 minutes walk to your domestic gate so you'd really have to leave it about an hour before your departure time. The lounge isn't big but it's new and clean and there's a small selection of breakfast food including scrambled eggs and chicken frankfurters as well as local food and some pastries in the morning. Self service coffee machine and drinks including beer in the fridge. They used to forget to check your boarding pass at this lounge but now they do so you can't just turn up for a free meal and beer if you've got a Priority Pass any more. In the international departures area there are two lounges. The first in pier L is after the second security check so you're in luck if your flight departs from this pier because you can get to your gate in literally a few minutes walk with no additional security check. It also opens earlier than the other one at 4am which makes no sense at all because early morning flights can leave from any pier but this lounge, behind security, only serves pier L. It's a small lounge but has sandwiches, noodles, hotdogs and pots of salad in the fridge. The other lounge is in the shopping area between the remaining piers where most of the flights leave. It's the best Plaza Premium lounge in KLIA but sits before security for the two piers it serves and consequently you need to leave 30-40 minutes before your departure time to get your flight. It also inexplicably opens later than the other lounge at 7am. This makes is useless for the many early morning flights departing from the majority of the gates on the other two piers. I don't know why they don't have this one open at 4am for all KLIA2 flights and keep the lounge at L closed. Anyway, like the other Plaza Premium lounges in KLIA this one is clean and modern. It has a massage centre for additional cost and showers. The lounge has a view of the runway. There's always a few hot dishes and some noodle soup along with pasta and salads in the fridge. Soft drinks and beer are self service in the fridge. The Plaza Premium lounges in KLIA are fine for third-party lounges but the company operates better lounges with better F&B elsewhere at Macau and Phnom Penh for example. I would be very unhappy if my full-service airline put me in them compared to the third-party lounges in, say, Singapore airport like the DNATA or even in Bangkok.

"clean and modern, large food bar"

(Malaysia)

There are two Plaza Premium lounges in Kota Kinabalu Airport. One in the international departure hall and one in the domestic departure hall. Both take Priority Pass. I visited the domestic one twice while changing Air Asia flights to Sandakan one weekend. It's easy enough to find directly on the departures floor and gives a good first impression. Clean and modern with a large food bar in front of you and plenty of seating to the right. Soft drinks are in the fridge directly in front of you. What they don't tell you is that you can ask for beer from the chef behind the counter and he'll happily bring it to you. We missed this first time and only knew about it second time because we saw somebody else asking for it. Food selection was fine and only fine. Given that there were only about five people in the lounge I don't suppose it makes sense for them to have a large selection of food that would have to be disposed of every day. The chef will make noodle soup for you. There was a chicken curry. A rudimentary but fresh salad bar. Peanuts. Cake. If you want a coffee of any sort then you have to ask for it because it's made with a professional machine (rather than a self-service automatic coffee machine). There's a shower available too but we didn't use it. It's nice to find Plaza Premium lounges that take Priority Pass in smaller airports like Kota Kinabalu and I hope that it gets enough business to stay open. It was up to the usual Plaza Premium standard found in, say, KLIA2 but not as feature rich as, say, Macau or Phnom Penh.

"one of the best lounges out there"

(Bahrain)

I have visited many lounges across the world, and for Europe, I have to say that this Heathrow Plaza Premium lounge at Terminal 4 is one of the best lounges out there. There are various seating areas for dining, relaxing, sofas, private working desks. The food quality and variety was excellent. The reception team, and the service team there were all professional and friendly.

"wasted my priority pass visit"

(India)

Visited the Premium Plaza lounge in Terminal 3 domestic departures. The lounge was so bad that they should remove both lounge and premium from their name. Lounge was overcrowded with option to have water, tea or coffee. Couple of Indian snacks were available, rest everything was for an additional charge. Even can of coke was chargeable with prices being double that of other restaurants in the airport. There was Wifi, again chargeable even when Delhi airport itself provides free wifi for 30 minutes. I think I wasted my priority pass visit.

"uninspiring with limited choice"

(Denmark)

Is used Hyderabad Plaza Premium lounge as a Malaysia Airlines passenger, and the lounge seems big - or there were few passengers at the time of day when I visited (around midnight). The food section is ok, but uninspiring with limited choice, dried out sandwiches etc. There are showers to use, but the fittings and the ambience leaves quite a lot to be desired. Overall the lounge is nice, but the details need to be looked after.

"lounge is new and clean"

(United Kingdom)

Visited Plaza lounge at London Heathrow T2 prior to my long haul flight. As a Priority Pass member I didn't have a high expectation on the lounge but it turned out to be great. The lounge is new and clean. It has a very relaxing and oriental ambience. When I visited it (after 7pm) the lounge was not busy and it was very calm. Plenty of food and drink (including beer, spirits, wines) available and champagne for purchase. Service in the lounge was also great. Very attentive. Plates were collected once the food was finished. Staff walked around regularly. Overall a great lounge - better than the BA flagship lounge in T5.

"a good respite"

(Canada)

Nothing much to say except it was good. Not a huge space (I think the company took whatever space the airport had available) but adequate. We were in on our Diner's Club cards but a lot of other pax on our Sunwing flight had bought passes. Hopefully they will expand as the previous lounge exclusivity is becoming the hangout of the great unwashed masses and it's getting crowded. The desk chap certainly was not enforcing the published dress code. However recommended no matter how you get in and it is a good respite before a charter holiday flight.
