"it seems to be going downhill"

(United Kingdom)

Not Verified | Have used this lounge many times however it seems to be going downhill. This time we had not booked as we had booked a day room at a hotel prior to flying home, so thought we could go to check and straight onto plane but flight delayed, so paid full price. £40 each. The food was luke warm, as was the soup, though this was tasty. No choice of red wine. Waiter slammed glass down on bar. Not very friendly. Found it difficult to find clean cups for coffee as dirty. Pointed this out to staff who took tray away to put back through dishwasher. Some of the ladies toilets out of action. A group of women sitting behind us being somewhat loud using foul language. Drinking though it had gone out of fashion. People sprawled on the settees taking up more space than they needed, feet on furniture. Definitely not good value for money. Such a shame as it used to be a relaxing place prior to flying.

"I would recommend"

(United States)

Trip Verified | Used this lounge through Priority Pass. We arrived at this lounge for breakfast after arriving at around 7:30 from Miami and on our way to Stockholm on Norwegian. You can get one item off the menu and other items from a buffet type setting. My fiance and I got a bacon roll and sausage roll. Both were mediocre. The other offerings were much better and filled me up. The staff, especially the bartender, were excellent. I would recommend.

"Not as relaxing as hoped"

(United Kingdom)

Not Verified | Not so good, the portions are tiny, with one tiny dish off a menu per person then a selection of nuts and a bit of salad plus some cakes and coffee, tea and cold drinks. Very hot up one end of the room and tables not cleared or cleaned. One person behind the bar!!! Queuing for a drink was a pain. Not as relaxing as hoped.

"I had a positive experience"

(United Kingdom)

Not Verified | After visiting the No.1 lounge in Gatwick South terminal last year, I did not expect too much from this one in the North Terminal, but I had a positive experience. Here they have buffet meals instead of the ordering system. There are 2-3 types of hot delicate hot meals, some salads, cous cous, soup and some basic desserts. Alcohol is served at the bar. There are plenty of seating with a little bit of apron view provided, but the good spots are taken quickly. In peak hours it gets basically full.

"lounge was pleasantly quiet"

(United Kingdom)

Verified Review | Used the Escape Lounge as a passenger on Qatar Airways. The lounge is tucked away and not very well signed. Friendly greeting on arrival and comfortable seating. Limited range of hot food on offer-the chicken curry was cold. Good range of drinks available and the lounge was pleasantly quiet. It has some way to go to compete with Emirates lounge though.

"Meals are weird"

(United Kingdom)

Unverified | The clubroom part of the lounge at the entrance is a calm and quiet area where people can relax in comfy armchairs and sofas in actual rooms. The rest of the lounge is an open space restaurant, bar and resting area. It has a separated quiet room which seems a bit useless due to the clubroom part of the lounge. Food must be ordered at the bar and is served by hosts. The menu provides limited choice and the portions are small, feel free to order two (three) mains immediately. Meals are weird, the greek salad contained lentils, cous cous and was served on a pita. When placing the order a number plate is provided, then hosts are walking around the area hunting for the number with the order, making service a bit slow. One meal was forgotten by the staff, had to be re-ordered. Desserts were represented by one type of flapjack. The bartender struggled to recognise the bottles behind him, I had to direct him to find the Martini Bianco.

"Staff were pleasant"

(United Kingdom)

Unverified | Free entry with Norwegian Economy Plus ticket. The selection of waitress served food was very good and the presentation innovative; quality was very good. Varied seating with some seats looking on to runway. Staff were pleasant. A bit crowded but it was very pleasant and a nice start to a journey ending in the awful Orlando Airport.

"amazed anyone would pay for access"

(United Kingdom)

The No.1 Traveller Lounge at Gatwick was offered as part of booking and isn't the Virgin Clubhouse. I'm amazed anyone would pay for access to this lounge. It's cramped. The food is decidedly average and over breakfast : early morning they struggled to maintain quantity never mind quality. Bar is serviced and limited selection only. Toilets were a disgrace and need refurbishment. When we arrived had to clean tables to find a space. Subsequently an overworked but pleasant young staff member got on top of the cleaning of tables - just! Perhaps some of those standing around at the bar / entrance might have helped? Paper selection was ok and same goes for magazines although both were limited in number.

"food is limited"

(United Kingdom)

Used this lounge with my Priority Pass membership. The food is limited and the room itself is quite small. Shame there are no toilets in the lounge itself, which means you have to leave the lounge then re enter an explain to the staff that you have already signed in. Wouldn't recommend if you are paying for access.

"was refused access"

(United States)

Can't say as I was refused access via a rather nasty little sign stating No walk ins before 7pm! Never seen that in the terms and conditions nor any requirement to pre book.
