LONDON STANSTED AIRPORT is located 30 miles north London and is a major base for several low cost airlines as well as the exclusive Harrod’s Aviation Terminal. Ryanair offers a large network of more than 100 destinations within Europe and there are long haul routes from London Stansted Airport such as Las Vegas and Cancun served by leisure carriers such as Thomson and Thomas Cook Airlines. London Stansted Airport is currently undergoing a £80 million ($125 million) redevelopment that should be completed by the end of 2015.
With summer here, London’s airports are welcoming sports fans from around the world for some of the UK’s major sporting events. Wimbledon is in full swing, followed by the historic Henley Royal Regatta (1 July), British Grand Prix at Silverstone (5 July) and the first Ashes test in Cardiff on the 8 July.
