"nowhere decent to eat"

(Canada)

Not Verified | The wifi is literally rated worst wifi in all of North America. If you are flying within Canada, there's virtually nowhere decent to eat and if there is you can only sit down to eat or you have to pay a flipping arm and a leg to eat! Not to mention the security line-up which never end and is so slow.

"a place to avoid"

(Canada)

Trip Verified | Toronto International Airport is definitely a place to avoid if you dont want to lose your joy of life. Staff at security gates are rude, impolite and impatient. They are not fit for the job. Also it's impossible to be served in French, one of the two official languages of Canada.

"airport looked so tatty"

(United Kingdom)

Trip Verified | Terminal 3 is pure rubbish. I came from London Heathrow and I was very excited to get to Toronto. When I got to the airport, I was a bit tired, so were my family. I walked off the BA flight and I was walking over this partially flooded jetway. The airport looked so tatty and in bad condition. The signposts are not clear and staff expect foreign tourists to know what a Nexus Card is. This horrible lady was like “do you have your nexus cards?”. There were two signs that said Passport Control and Arrivals, having no idea, we went through arrivals, the Nexus card lady was like “What are you doing stupid, go this way!” We had to jog on through the passport control, use these weird machines to get pictures and the queues were awful. There was one queue after another and they were very long, this was a joke. The terminal needs demolishing and rebuilding and the staff need an attitude retraining. There were only two staff members that looked happy. Toronto Pearson airport needs to get itself together.

"absolutely ridiculously slow"

(Canada)

Not Verified | Security is absolutely ridiculously slow. I dont how much the automated system cost but they should get their money back. Every laptop and ipad must be removed and is then kicked out to be swabbed. There were 3 swabbers working. Pleasant people hindered by slow process and equipment. Plus the bin system although like Europe's I guess people cant figure it out. By the time you take your coat off, belt off, wallet, phone and keys in one bin. Then another bin for all your electronics to be removed and filled and then your carry on in another bin which can all be separated to be swabbed further down the line. Walking through the metal detectors, most people had to move to the side to be wanded becayse they were told to keep their shoes on. Simply not a fan.

"Another appalling experience"

(United Kingdom)

Trip Verified | Another appalling experience. The immigration hall was a nightmare - not sure how many aircraft arrived at the same time. However, that was nothing compared for the wait for the luggage. Well over 2 hours. Of the major airports in the world - Toronto Pearson is most definitely the worst I have travelled through. Never prepared, unhelpful staff. Truly awful. The big tip, travel with carry on luggage so you can avoid this nightmare experience.

"never had a worse travel experience"

(Canada)

Not Verified | I have never had a worse travel experience. Being some 80 years old in my life I have traveled round the world many times. This time however herded like cattle, rushed along. Lost my belt after having to remove it through security. It didn't appear in the tray at the other side of the "scan through"! Asked where it was but there was no concern from the agents. Where has human decency disappeared these days? Yes I realize you are going to dismiss this too, but that's at least my experience.

"don’t think it was properly cleaned"

(Canada)

Not Verified | The airport cleanliness especially the seating and bathrooms are terrible. Crumbs and spilled food everywhere especially in between the seats. I don’t think it was properly cleaned in a very long time maybe the cleaning staff are off for the long weekend.

"nothing seems to work"

(Canada)

Not Verified | Wow, what happened to the International area of this airport? It was a beautiful new airport area a couple years ago and now nothing seems to work and it's absolutely packed - you can barely move through the hallways. Let's start with the food situation. There's all these great seats with iPads where you can lounge, charge your devices, and order some food. You pay right at the table and servers deliver the food - genius! However, we tried 4 tables before we could find one with a single working iPad (broken, all saying low battery, cracked screens), then once I selected all my food, the payment machine was broken and I wasn't able to actually confirm or pay for my order - so we have to move again. Fifth table I was able to order and pay for my food, a water and some sliders, but the servers showed up twice - they didn't have the lemon Perrier that was listed on their site - and they didn't have the sliders. Not a big deal, but what a hassle to just get some food (which was $30 by the way, so so overpriced!). No discount for not being able to give me my selection. Seriously lacking. This used to be my favourite airport but now I can barely stand to pass through. Disappointing.

"Baggage pickup is ridiculous"

(Canada)

Not Verified | This airport continues to get worse and worse with little care from the organizers, because let's face it, the more time you spend in the airport, the more money they make. Baggage pickup is ridiculous, you're tired, hungry, and just want to get home to your destination. Yet, here begins the ordeal of a 2 hour wait at a baggage carrousel overflowing with bags, the floor around, littered with bags, unattended, unorganized, unlabled bags as far as the eye can see. Meanwhile, my husband, who is picking me up, is waiting in arrivals for me. Parked at Pearson, every minute the cost of parking (and money paid to Pearson) going up and up and up. I talked to the airport, they say it's the airlines fault. I don't understand how every time I fly, no matter what airline, I arrive at Pearson to an unorganized, unprofessional mess. It's about time they took responsibility for ripping people off, wasting peoples time and generally causing mayhem for their passangers. Fix the problem.

"baggage reclaim is a sore point"

(Canada)

Trip Verified | I travel a lot for both work and pleasure; and althought many parts of Toronto Pearson work well; the baggage reclaim is a sore point. Today, my flight arrive at 4.40am and although I made it through customs in a breeze, I wainted until 6.36 (almost 2 hours) for my bags. I’ve expereience this, along with friends and colleagues many times and wonder why many airports seemed to have figured this out? I wouldnt recommend anyone using Pearson for transfers.
