Paris CDG Airport customer review

(Poland)

I had a transfer through CDG Airport. I arrived with Air France from JFK 1hr 15 min before my connecting flight to Warsaw. Me and my family rushed to security check and spent over 30 minutes in the queue. Only part of the security check gates were open. We told staff that we had connecting flight to catch and limited time but we were assured that everything is under control and due to large number of passengers and long lines all planes will be waiting. When we got through security check we were waiting another 35min in passport control line and again we asked twice if we can go through express line due to our flight. Again we were assured by staff that we will catch our flight because all planes will be waiting. Unfortunately it didn't happen. We were at our gate 3 minutes after scheduled departure time. Both security check and passport control services were highly insufficient. We went to Air France customer service (long line again because a lot of passengers were in the same situation) to ask how it could happen they told us it's not their fault and they will rebook our flight with no cost but we need to wait another 8 hours at the airport. No compensation for our time and money - we were late for our train connection in Warsaw food cost at the airport. It was the worst airport that I've ever been so to avoid nerve wrecking and stressful situations I advise to stay away.

A good experience at CDG transiting between flights from Singapore and on to Casablanca. Having read the reviews on this site I was worried the 80 minutes between flights wouldn't be enough. In fact the connection was made easily with time to spare allowing us to sample some of the food/shopping which was good enough if a little expensive. I'd happily go through CDG again and I'm amazed at the bad reviews here.

Terrible airport largely because the staff are so rude. The lines to board are chaotic - the food choices in terminal 2 pathetic. I hate when my travels bring me into this place.

300 flights in the past 4 years. Been waiting for at least 50 minutes for someone to bring food to this "business lounge".

Just flew out on Delta through 2E terminal and used "priority" line. This seemed slower than standing in the normal passport control line and the female line workers did nothing to expedite the process. After taking at least 30 minutes to get through passport control we entered the train for gate M43. Unfortunately the train doors did not close after 10 minutes and finally they announced that the train was not working. There was no urgency on their part to resolve the problem or offers of where to route you no buses waiting. We are fit travelers which came in handy for this 3/4 mile walk in the underground of the airport to reach our gate. Finally we got to security and they only had 2 lanes open to process all the delayed travelers. My husband I were heading back from Croatia but this is our second time with problems occurring through Paris (last was a baggage handlers strike). If possible we will avoid routing through Paris for all future travel.

A shambles! Flight from Istanbul with Turkish Airlines arrived early but was parked away from the terminal. A bus trip to the terminal. Insufficient buses arrived. It was also raining and the steps down to the buses were not covered. On arrival at the terminal you have to walk up stairs - which was a struggle for some passengers. A quick passport check at the top. Then another check - only one official on duty for EU passengers and he often left his post to sort out problems with passengers doing self- check. Baggage also delayed so over a hour before leaving the terminal building (T1) which is showing its age despite some refurbishment. To be avoided it you have an alternative.

Terminal 3: no queues no life the most boringly dull airport for quite some number of trips. Am using free wifi to write a review. Tip bring your own food as the cafe has tasteless expensive food and wooden seats.

I have used CDG airport for 3 trips within the last month. Overall it works well. It is busy but immigration control works well considering the crowds. Arrive early and be prepared for walking long distances. Signage is good as is access to Paris by train. I used Terminals 1 and 2E.

I have travelled through this airport having connecting flights driving to airport by train or car or staying overnight in one of the many airport hotels and using shuttle bus. Depending what your terminal is your experience can go from very poor to good or acceptable. Generally I have never had any problems with airport personnel they are usually always polite and willing to help. Maybe the people working for French customs in the train station could be less invasive and more discreet. Terminal 2f is old and once past passport and security check it gets even worse at baggage deposit. Terminal 2g is more spacious and more user friendly but difference between new and older 2g terminal wing is very obvious. Generally this airport has been poorly designed but once past baggage deposit passport and security you walk through an airport with poorly designed duty free shops and nearly no food outlets. Generally speaking this airport needs to rethink why it exists and how to service its customers faster and better. I am still travelling through this airport surely because I like this place but more because of schedules of airlines I fly with using this hub so lets hope for some drastic improvement in the future.

Flew out of terminal 2A. Check in no issue but then saw these massive queues to go to passport control. So there are 2 queues each leading to the escalators down to passport control and security. It took me one hour to get to passport control an hour in which CDG employees stood guarding the escalators (for good reason as there must have been 300 people trying to get to their planes). But there were at least 8 of them standing around and other than stopping people getting to their planes doing nothing. No special access for people with kids the infirm the elderly. Chaos ensued people pushing to get to the front who were going to miss their flights others resisting the "invaders" just ridiculous. And then a call in French only for those with EEC passports to go ahead that did not go down well with non EEC passport holders or those who didn't speak French. Avoid at all costs.
