"queues were very long"

(United Kingdom)

Verified Review | This is one of the worst European airports that I've travelled through. The passport control during rush hour, had only two people checking passports (for EU citizens) which is ridiculous. The queues were very long so even with hand luggage you needed two and a half hours to get to your boarding gate. The staff were indifferent to those passengers who were at risk of missing their flights and wouldn't allow prioritisation.

"has serious issues with baggage handling"

(Slovenia)

Verified Review | We were transferring at CDG early in the morning from a non-EU flight. The waiting time at the security check was too long. They had only two lines for a lot of people. The security guard was impolite and said that we should calm down, even though we politely stated we were in a hurry to catch a connecting flight. Another family was allowed to go through the check because they had a child. In addition, I would like to comment that in my opinion the ability of the baggage handlers to lose one of the two bags on the same flights is a clear sign of incompetence. CDG has serious issues with baggage handling and they should address this as soon as possible. Until I see more positive reviews on this matter, I will try my best to avoid CDG.

"just bad every single time"

(Netherlands)

Verified Review | I have travelled via CGD quite a few times now, always expecting improvements, but it's just bad every single time. To start with the good aspects: the terminals seem clean. I always managed to get reach my flights (despite all the hindrances at the airport). And then the bad. The staff. Starting from the most recent experience: The person standing at the gate, while the boarding is underway, gate open. I approach them, greeting, trying to give them my passport and boarding pass. They just ask me what I want. I tell them I would like to board the plane. The man doesn't seem to understand. I'm pointing at the gate (right behind where he's standing, he just let on dozens of other people, dozens of others behind me), saying I'd also like to get on this flight. Then he starts to look around as if he saw the gate for the first time. Proceeds to check my papers after a few minutes of just standing there. I'm still stunned at how this can happen at an international airport. Border control was fine this time around. Security check area was a chaos, but I mean if it works, it works. Signage around the airport looks like it's good at a first glance, but it's misleading on many occasions. I highly recommend looking at the map of CDG before going there, otherwise you might end up doing unnecessary rounds due to the conflicting arrows, etc. (I always use a map on my phone since the first time I transferred on CDG, it's really helpful as the signage they didn't seem to improve.) The food is not bad per se, but I would expect something much better in France.

"completely unhelpful staff"

(France)

I had the bad luck to arrive at Paris CDG Airport at 11.30 pm, the time when most of counters are closed, public transport stops working but air traffic is still ongoing. I live in Paris, speak French fluently and normally know where to go. This time the regular train line was under works and RATP (public transport organisation) suggested I take a 'replacement bus' or a cab. In a second I find myself surrounded by unofficial taxi drivers who start bargaining for this 30 km route and start being agressive when I say I'll look for a bus. Obviously there's no security agents around. 15 minutes later it appeared the 'replacement bus' does not exist and the same RATP agents suggested I could take the regular night bus. This meant I had to buy a transport card which was not possible on board, not on sale in RATP office (they said they are only an information office after working hours). I finally manage in the 4th vending machine, 3 before could not read my transport card. Once I have my card working, I start going around and asking where the bus stop was. Three different service agents give three different instructions, similar to 'go that way, but I don't know what bus or where the bus stop is' and 'I'm a security agent, not a tourist information' or even 'I'm after my working hours'. With the help of google maps hints I end up on a dark bus stop (terminal 2) with homeless sleeping around. Finally, 90 minutes after getting out of the plane I hop into the bus and reach Paris Gare du Nord at 2 am, 2 hours 30 mins after landing. To sum up: terrible experience with public transport, completely unhelpful staff, and low security level. I can't even imagine how I would get out of this airport without speaking French.

"free unlimited Wi-Fi"

(France)

Verified Review | I have used Paris CDG several times and never had any issue, a clean airport with free unlimited Wi-Fi, quick security check. A little less shopping options inside terminal and the great thing you can find lots of power sockets beneath chairs near sitting area.

"horrendous signage for rental car"

(United States)

Horrendous signage for rental car return made our morning departure from Paris CDG even more stressful following the ridiculous traffic getting here. Why on earth would anyone put a sign on the ramp after you have missed it? Add that to Internet indicating Budget return only at T2 when our flight was from T1. Check-in and security was fast at 10am on a Tuesday. Last minute shopping opportunities almost non-existent. Hard seating typical but did have power outlets. We generally don't use free public WIFI so don't know how good it was. Hard to avoid this airport so have to recommend.

"Immigration is super slow"

(Austria)

Verified Review | Disappointing experience, try to avoid CDG if possible! No open transfer desks, you need to go to the check in area again to get your new bording pass. Staff was rude and unhelpful. Immigration is super slow. A transit time of 2hrs was just enough to get the new boarding pass and to get to the plane in time. After all the luggage was lost and arrived one day later. Nobody at the lost and found back home was surprised about that, telling us that it's quite common at CDG that your luggage gets lost there.

"Incredibly poor running of passport control "

(United States)

Incredibly poor running of passport control with huge crowds. US and Canadian passport holders were ushered into a line with a few hundred people and growing. There was one passport officer to process this line, yes one. Many more processing French and EU passports which were processed much faster. I get giving French citizens preference but come on a 90 min wait to get through passport control is absurd. Nothing says welcome to our country like getting screwed over by rude and understaffed border control agents. The airport knows how many flights are coming and there is no rational reason why there should be such understaffing. This is not a new issue at terminal 2E and there is obviously a lack of will to do this or they just don't care.

"careless, arrogant airport"

(Canada)

Verified Review | I don't often take time out to speak up on a business but this was above and beyond the rudest, most careless, arrogant airport I've ever been in. I've heard about line ups like this in the early 80's but not in today's world. We arrived 2.5 hours early for our flight home. Huge line up. Pushing and shoving all over. People getting irrational because everyone's flights are about to leave. Every flight was delayed an hour or more do to this passport check section. To review - the airport knows how many flights are leaving. They under staff the passport section. (2 open and 5 or 6 closed, remember there are about 500 people standing here). The airlines book the airport slots to leave and are delayed at least an hour or more. People sprinting everywhere up and down escalators trying to get to a plane. The staff wants nothing to do with the 100's of people worried about missing a flight. Everyone I saw and talked to was clearing the passport wicket after their departure time to planes that were delaying the departure waiting for this line up of people. The signage is waist high amongst the crowd. There is no way we are flying out of this airport ever again. This seems to be a common problem that isn't being dealt with. Beside every other bathroom being out of order.

"Absolutely dreadful departure"

(United Kingdom)

Absolutely dreadful departure in terminal 2D for gate D62-68. At least 10 flights leaving at the same time and 2 people in passport control. Staff on other side of the control being rude to passengers and no one before the barriers controlling an unruly crowd.
