"Absolutely disgusting in the bathrooms"

(United States)

Unverified | I have been through CDG several times. The newest terminal is actually not bad. When it's busy, seating can be an issue, but amazingly they actually have enough toilets for passengers, and the cleaning staff seems to empty the trash regularly. Now, the other terminals, how did the French figure that an international airport can only have 3 toilet seats? Absolutely disgusting in the bathrooms, and the restaurants are always filthy, with trash flowing, dirty tables, dirty floors, and food that is lukewarm at best. A lot of the food simply sits out for hours and hours. Want to see confusion? Try lining up when they call for boarding, the French have made an art of mass chaos. Pathetic. Air France has great planes, and great service. Too bad their airport is a public embarrassment of laziness, filth, and poor design.

"will try not to use it again any time soon"

(United Arab Emirates)

Verified Review | I had not used CDG Airport for a while, and I will try not to use it again any time soon. We were in transit between Terminals 2 F and 2C, and the experience was horrendous. It started by a huge queue, or should I rather say a sea of people as there were no organised or delimited lines, to access passport control. All people, EU, non EU, priority, were all mixed up to finally have to split into 3 lines, creating massive chaos. When we finally reached the queues for passport control, only 5 of the booths were actually staffed with hundreds of people waiting. We then had to proceed and take a completely packed bus where you were thrown around during a 25 minutes joy ride around the airport to finally reach terminal 2C, where we struggled through the crowd to finally reach our gate. It took us 90 minutes to transit! I really felt ashamed to be French as per the first impression CDG Airport gives to foreign visitors about my country. Will avoid this airport in the future whenever possible!

"A pathetic experience"

(United Kingdom)

Verified Review | CDG never ceases to amaze me in how bad an airport can be. The problems a visitor face are literally countless. Arrived at terminal 2A which is one of the newest. Half an hour queue to get past passport control. Out of the approx. 10 booths, only one (1) was staffed. This was the queue for EU passengers. The queue for non-EU passports was even longer. The e-passport gates are only for French passports. Then, following unclear signage and taking elevators that fit 4 people, get to the baggage claim area, to find that your bags still haven't arrived. Then you have to walk for 20 mins at least to get the RER to Paris, only to find out that there's no service, you have to take the shuttle to terminal 1 first. On other visits to Paris CDG, when the RER was operating, the queue for tickets was at least 45 mins. Then you have the beggars on the train. A pathetic experience for a first-world country in one of the busiest airports.

"the worst airport I have experienced"

(Sweden)

Verified Review | Paris Charles de Gaulle is so far the worst airport I have experienced. I was travelling through terminals 2G and 2F. 2F is a small terminal, quite remote from the rest of the airport. Shopping, eating and time-killing options are very limited but it provides good amount of seating and is rather clean. 2G is somehow the opposite. This terminal is overcrowded, barely clean, and organized in an incredibly bad way. To go to your gate you need to navigate through floods of passengers queuing at their own gates. Expect your feet to be walked on (or rolled on). If you want to miss a connection, that's probably the place to go!

"A horrible experience at all levels"

(France)

Unverified | A horrible experience at all levels. Poor indications, unavailable and unpleasant staff, long queues, bad information. Trapped by an excess of two kilogram hand luggage without any possible solution than to throw some stuff. I arrived just before closing the doors of the plane after 2 hours of fighter course! A real nightmare.

"the queues are usually very short"

(Italy)

Verified Review | One of the best airports. Very clean, very easy to get there, fantastic! The terminals are very nice, very well designed. The transit is fast and the queues are usually very short. All the terminals are very big and so are very pleasant. Parking is quite expensive.

"the worst planning I have ever seen"

(Hong Kong)

Verified Review | Flew from Oslo to CDG Terminal 1, with roughly a 2.30 hour transfer time in which to get to Terminal 2A. No problem, right? How naive I was. First, we arrive at the gate in T1, with not a sign pointing out where to go. This is a terminal where one exits straight into the crowd of passengers waiting by their gates. I had to ask a disinterested staff member how to get to A2. Turns out to be a small, unsigned tunnel of sorts past a construction area towards the baggage claim. Pass baggage claim, and head toward T2A. Lots of walking, confusing signage and a slow train ride later I arrive at the terminal. Walk past the luggage check-in area, following signs to international departures. There's a 50-75 meter line of people in the main hall. No, wait. Two lines, each coming from their own side. They converge by a staircase to passport control. 45 minutes later it is my turn to walk down that staircase. Downstairs, there are hundreds of people in both the Shengen and non-Shengen passport lines. Only one passport control booth is open for each line. It is by far the worst planning I have ever seen! It takes an hour and a half to get through! By then it is 25 minutes until my plane is supposed begin boarding leave, and in front of me is a security checkpoint. The staff were unconcerned with me and the countless other people who are about to be late or already late to their flights. There is no priority given to those that need to board immediately. Despite the problem being abysmal staffing of passport control. It takes half an hour to get through security. How is that possible? The only way it is possible is that security is even slower than passport control. I run through the terminal to my gate where, fortunately my plane is delayed. I buy some water and use the wifi. Blessedly seating was ample, and wifi worked in the gate area. It had not worked previously while in line for passport control and security. Never again! CDG joins the list along SVO (Moscow) as airports I will never transfer through ever again.

"customer signage was terrible"

(United Kingdom)

Verified Review | My family and I arrived at Paris CDG airport with almost 4 hours until our flight back home to Glasgow today on the 20th of July. The car hire return service at Europe car was great, very fast and efficient service. The airport on the other hand was terrible. We queued for around an hour to drop off our bags, then moved through security where we queued for around another half an hour. From here we moved into the departure lounge with around an hour and a half until our scheduled departure. We went to pick up some food and then moved toward the border control where we had to queue for around an hour to eventually get to our departure gate. The biggest issue with the trip was the border control point where the customer signage was terrible, the queuing system was ineffective causing frustration and anxiety for all the passenger's trying to catch flights and when there was circa 200 people trying to pass through border control when there were only 2 staff members working was ridiculous. France was great, CDG sucked.

"experiences so far have been very positive"

(Sweden)

Verified Review | I have read many negative reviews of Paris CDG airport, but having had occasion to transit through Terminal 2 four times in the last two months my experience has been very positive for the following reasons. Getting to / from the airport: commuter trains run every 6 or 7 minute, reaching the city centre in just over half an hour and can be used with a standard travel pass or zone ticket, without any of those silly airport surcharges found across the world. Terminal 2 is very modern and light. The toilets are new, there is always seating even at peak times, there are free newspapers in the terminal, there are power plugs and business stations if you want to work, free Wi-Fi is fast compared to most airports and there are water fountains dotted around the terminal so you can avoid paying some outrageous price for a water bottle. There are also screens at the various gates that give you some fun – albeit non-essential – information on your flight such as weather at destination, languages spoken by the crew, the name of the captain etc. The security is reasonably fast (the longest I have had to queue on a Friday evening, so a pretty busy time, has been 20 minutes). All in all, my experiences in CDG so far have been very positive.

"very uncomfortable for passengers"

(Spain)

Unverified | Terminal 1 at Paris CDG Airport is very uncomfortable for passengers: few number of seats (and they're not the best to be sit on), the wifi don't work properly (it stops frequently) and the offer to eat something (or have a coffee) there is very poor (just a couple of places). Getting there from the city is quite complicated: you must to take a taxi or RER+CDGVal. Never again.
