Mumbai Airport

Mosquitoes galore! Personnel moving around the airport carrying the electric racquets are no match for the mosquitoes. The kiosks asking for feedback do not allow users to submit feedback successfully. Long lines at coffee shops. There is no way to access internet when one does not have a cell phone to receive access code. Long lines at immigration and customs going in or out. May be these are teething problems and I hope they will work them out.

The airport is fantastic. Facilities are world class and the decor is some of the best I have seen. There is still work being done and I am sure after everything is complete and the workers trained the airport will be such a pleasure to fly to and from.

The new airport is visually stunning from the outside and even more so once you pass security. It easily surpasses Heathrow and many North American airports. Pass security there are many choices for food lots of seating and really nice aesthetics. True that there are too many security checks that do appear to be un-necessary. The airport is world class.

The new terminal is above par to anything else I've seen before. Architecture is stunning and looks quite fancy. Some queuing troubles are normal for a new terminal of such massive size but it'll get sorted out soon. Highly Recommended if traveling to India!

Having holidayed in Goa for over 20 years I have seen many changes to the airports. This is one of the better ones. When we visited at the beginning of March the building had only been opened for 15 days so yes there were teething troubles. When everything is finished and all the shops are up and running I think this will be a gorgeous airport. I agree with previous comments regarding the staff they are definitely friendlier. Not sure what people would like done about the mosquitoes you can't put anything through the air condition as it could affect people with breathing difficulties. Just make sure you use plenty of protection. As far as security is concerned I don't care how many times I am checked at least I know I am safe. Better that than poor security.

T2. Beautiful building and interiors but so badly managed. The people running the airport have not changed they behave like they own the building and all passengers are just mere trespassers. Barely 1-2 restaurants are open. Mosquitoes are hovering everywhere. Delhi airport is so much better.

I must say I disagree with the previous comments: Mumbai T2 is a huge improvement to the old terminal and we had no problems arriving 1st March around 5am and departing 8th March around 7am with TK. Immigration was quick with a very friendly officer and our bags were out too quickly - it took us some time to admire the new terminal building with pieces of Indian art that is so different from Delhi IGI or Chennai Anna International. Departure was a similar story: some queues were there but moved relatively quickly friendly check-in (TK) very friendly officers that even joked with us at security with the usual stamps here and there and finally a quick cup of coffee close to the gate before boarding. True: there are mosquitoes in T2 and not all shops are operational yet but all we needed for departure was relatively prompt & pleasant and we enjoyed the huge improvement that has taken place in Mumbai. When they shift all domestic flights to T2 towards the end of 2014 we won't hesitate to use BOM again for our travels to India. Delhi IGI is better at present from international to domestic if you continue domestic with Air India.

The worst international airport I've been. This airport is a joke. Do not plan to rest have a drink or eat anything during the time you are waiting for your check in it's an empty area. But not empty of mosquitoes. Thousands of them everywhere even in the lounge. Security is ridiculous no forms available to fill before the emigration crazy waiting times everywhere even as gold member. Try to avoid Mumbai Airport if you can. Architecture is not enough inside an airport. Services resting area efficiency are prior to that.

This new terminal is a mess. It is large and not well organised. I had to transit in this terminal last week flying business with Air India. To access the business lounge which is not really a business lounge you need to find a lift wait 15 min to have the lift ready. As usual in India the security check is not organized. The only smoking area is near the restroom and it is about 15sqf for all travellers. From my entry to the terminal up until I boarded the plane my passport was checked 15 times!

Stunning architecture as you arrive but that's about it. Still early days but make sure your armed with mosquito repellent. Once you get through a lengthy immigration queue be prepared for more queue's as there are not many restaurants open yet however I think that when its fully operational it will be a vast improvement over the old terminal.
