"a great terminal to use"
12 reviews Prayash Giria (United Kingdom)
Terminal 2 offers international and some domestic flights. Gorgeous design, lots of space, and even mood lighting with lounge music. Shopping and food options yet to open fully, but hold a lot of promise. The art exhibit is very interesting and unique. Walks to the gate are long-ish, and the travelators quite badly planned. City-airport transfers are limited. Still a great terminal to use.

"small and overflowing with people"
12 reviews Prayash Giria (India)
Used both terminals of BOM several times over the last year - typically 4-5 times each month. Reviewing both separately. Terminal 1, domestic, is living horror. Small and overflowing with people, and absolutely hopeless airside dining and shopping. Bus boarding areas are reminiscent of commuter train stations at rush hour, while bridge boarding areas are bearable at the least. Arrival halls are bare and cramped again, the only saving grace being that they offer a quick exit.

"hope things improve"
Thyagaraj Sanathkumar (Singapore)
Happened to travel past midnight on 18th Dec 2015. Worst experience with respect to immigration process. Came In transit and had to take midnight Air India to Singapore; took 45-50 minutes to clear immigration with no airport staff to guide people. What's the use of constructing a good looking terminal if service is comparable to Stone Age. Nearly missed my flight. Airport authorities have to take cognisance of the situation. Hope things improve.

"has a feeling of spaciousness"
Veronica Bee (United Kingdom)
Departure for Vistara is at Terminal 2 - the new domestic arm of the International airport. I understand that domestic flights will all move to Terminal 2 at some point. The airport is very attractive, well designed and, as it is not yet fully utilised, it is clean and has a feeling of spaciousness. A far cry from the awful and cramped Terminals 1a and 1b. Really a comfortable experience.

"Baggage took eons to arrive at the belt"
3 reviews Durvankur Patil (India)
My recent trip to the UAE took me and my wife through Mumbai's newest aviation landmark, Terminal 2 or T2. For passengers who have been through the ordeals of the older Sahar terminal, T2 comes in as a major relief. In terms of its architecture, facilities, floor space and shopping areas, T2 beats its predecessor in all the areas significantly. Check-in counters for respective airlines have been allocated specific entry gates to avoid any confusion. The number of check-in counters have grown exponentially and took us about 15 minutes to clear ours. As a lot of people have now understood the importance of online check-in, the queue at those counters are longer than the conventional ones. About 3-4 minutes walk later, you enter a spacious security hold area. We took under 5 minutes to clear the security and proceeded towards an almost empty immigration area. Since, Mumbai handles its bulk of international operations at night time, immigration is quite a breeze during afternoon. Fortunately, we came across a jovial immigration officer, who cleared us within 5 minutes. Post immigration, CSIA T2 is a different world altogether with big enough duty free area, restaurants and ample seating area to take a nap. Some of the other stores at the aiport are quite expensive, so try to shop at duty free or outside the airport area. The walk to the gates is quite long, but travelators at intervals glide you easily to the gates. T2 is in the process of completing its second pier of gates on their northern side, post which it will be able to handle more flights. Our arrival at T2 was that of a displeasure, as the queuing time for stamping of passports was excrutiating. Posting of more people of counters would have helped, but they didn't budge. Baggage took eons to arrive at the belt, with bags thrown on top of each other. It was a serious discomfort for the elderlies to lift their baggage from the belt. If you plan to arrive at T2 and have to arrange for a transport by yourself, please make sure that you do so before leaving the terminal building at the transportation level, as you wont be allowed to enter the building again. The normal cabs might take you for a ride in terms of their charges, so opt for fleet cabs, who have counters inside the terminal in the transportation lobby.

"huge queues"
2 reviews Mohammed Amin (India)
Review is for T2 of Mumbai Airport. Airport is one of the best airport in the country if not the best airport in terms of its size, design and facilities. But there are a few things which are a drawback to a rather beautiful Airport. First of all the new terminal is huge and at par with any big International airport. But the things which are on the negative side are: 1) There are many Immigration Counters but only some counters are open which leads to huge queues and the experience gets worst if the flights from the Gulf have landed. Same can be said for the security while departing. 2) The Staff can be some times rude. Overall its a great Airport and if you are travelling with Air India or Go Air. Both their International and Domestic Flights operate from T2 So the Connection is smooth and hassle free.

"Fast check in and security"
16 reviews Rishad Patell (India)
Air India domestic has moved to the new International terminal in BOM. Great Airport. Fast check in and security. Shops still opening so a bit sparse for shopping. Food outlets plenty - not very nice though. At 9am the croissant was stale. Gates quite a distance so prepare to walk a bit. Arrivals was great as baggage belt right next to our gate. Taxi's available.

"old airport simply easier"
2 reviews S Sathe (United Kingdom)
Used this airport to depart India after a visit. I had last visited 6 years earlier and used the "old" Bombay International airport then. I found the old airport simply easier - having flown very often when I was in India globally - was functional and clean and hassle free. The new airport seems to be a half witted job - there are carpets laid and it makes me wonder who in his / her right mind thought laying a carpet is a good idea in a country as dusty as India! Other layout seemed OK - I'm one of the first people to check in to any flight so really don't queue anyways. Staff are rude and have no idea of manners and this is a major issue. Customer service / passenger service is non-existent, especially in the duty free bit - I asked the chap if my card would be billed in US$ or Indian rupees and was told US$ - only to see an INR statement later with a conversion fee. Asians (like me) somehow do not understand the concept of a queue and the need to stay one foot or so away from other people in a queue. You expect queue management - but no one really seems to take. Airport staff in blue uniform hover around hoping to running the odd errand and get an INR 100 + tip and make cash on the side. It was much better earlier - all that was needed was a fix of the car parking + facilities.

"huge improvement over the old airport"
Dilip Kumar (Canada)
I have used this aiport 3 times in the last 2 years. It's a huge improvement over the old airport. On first arriving from abroad it looks glittering and new, but getting inside one sees the flaws. The walk from the aircraft to immigration is too long and the moving walkways are few and improperly placed. The carpeting on this never ending walk is not conducive to roll along luggage - it takes quite an effort pulling it along. The orange and red carpeting has a ghastly visual end result and makes it look dirty and shabby. The walk to immigration takes you through the duty free shops in an attempt to make you shop, but only succeeds in causing chaos and congestion. On departing, the terminal has a communcal check-in system, where all passengers of certain airlines have to queue irrespective of their flight times or destinations. This does not make any sense as staff keep coming around and announcing that passengers departing on flights leaving in the next 60-90 mins please move to other counters. I had a flight to Canada departing at 1.30 am, but was still stuck in the line until 12.30 because the counter staff suddenly left and from 12 counters open we were down to 4. I was finally cleared with only 45 mins remaining to get through immigration and reach my departure gate. There is not enough immigration counters / staff and the attitude is poor. The food courts does not have enough international variety, the food is very expensive and the staff seem inexperienced. All in all, it's no good building a fantastic well-decorated airport, spend billions on it, but neglect to train your people in professionalism, efficiency and the right attitudes, putting in the right systems and accountability. It is throwing money at problems but omitting the human factor.

"welcome to the world of chaos"
Fahad Ahmed (South Africa)
Welcome to the world of chaos, impolite and third class service at Mumbai Airport, India. They say they have spent millions to renovate the airport but they forget its not glass and concrete that matters but the people and the system that is in place that matters. Indeed they have redone the airport building but the attitude of officials are horrible. The emigration officials are not present although the passenger line is huge. There is no direction how the passengers should move. There is no place for drinking water or buying water until you are reach the boarding gate. The people who are employed by airlines have a lot of attitude. No special arrangements are made for breast feeding infant children. My wife was directed to one place to feed our child that was extremely dirty. Avoid this airport if you can.
