Mumbai Airport

Mumbai is a good airport with refreshed ambience and space. Long immigration queues imprints that last impression of Mumbai before departure - poor organization and efficiency. Signage font in the hall are too small. One has to come very close to it in order to read gate numbers, directions etc. At the arrival hall it takes a while before seeing your check in baggage and add to that long queues at the arrival customs. If they can overcome above challanges, it would be a world class airport.

Huge airport. Passed through terminal 2, nice and clean, toilets were very clean. Great attention given to the decor (carpeting and amazing mural) felt more like a museum than an airport. Provides rides for the infirm. Immigration is a nightmare, arrived at 04.30 and waited for well over an hour. Signage is adequate. Customs a breeze. Not a bad experience.

The newly built Mumbai airport is truly magnificent, with very attractive features inspired from local traditions, history and folklore. Plenty of space, plenty of light, good indications. Having used the visa on arrival, the immigration procedure was extremely fast on the way in, but on the way out, the queuing was atrocious, with 60% of the desks unmanned despite the amount of people queuing. Prices in airport shops generally high, but plenty to see, plenty to eat; very long distances to/from the gates, and you can walk easily for 15 to 20 minutes in deserted corridors on arrival, if you do not have the good fortune to fly business and to be picked up by electric cars. Nevertheless, a fantastic experience and the place is so clean that it is difficult to believe that you are still in India.

Beautiful airport with bureaucracy galore. First off the lines for security were long even for business class passengers. The immigration was extremely slow with only 1 line for business class customers and about 20 lines for all other customers. Once you get through immigration those 20 lines lead to 2 to 3 humans who will physically check your passport to see if you have a stamp on it or not from one of those 20 lines of immigration. I would say if the got rid of the bureaucracy and moved to better lines at immigration, things would be faster. Single line multiple server has been proven to be more efficient why don't they use that at this airport. Overall a nice airport.

It was a well maintained clean airport with all modern facilities. But I was stuck in a queue for immigration for about 1.5 hours. It is very obvious that, lots of flights are arriving to this airport and the density of passengers is higher than other airports. So please open more counters and also train staff to do their jobs faster.

I never thought an airport would make me say 'wow' but Mumbai has amazing ambience with hundreds of paintings / sculptures / decorations that brought out a great sense of culture. The second best thing about the airport is the qachitecture. The vast amount of space, high ceilings, lighting all contribute to making it a great airport experience.

I had to be at Mumbai Airport, T2 on 27th Jan 2016 at 5.00 am to catch my flight to Calicut. The flight was delayed by over 2.5 hours meaning that we were in the airport for over 3 hours. The departure gate was 40 A. The airport is aesthetically pleasing, however there were swarms of were mosquitoes inside, this along with it being difficult to find a seat made for a nightmare 3 hours at this airport.

Immigration needs to faster and urgent need of more counters. Took 1 hr at around 2 am. Ground staff are polite and helpful most of the times. Have been flying in and out of the airport, since 2012. Cleanliness in the airport and toilets is good and one feels spacious enough as compared to Dubai or Abu Dhabi airports. In the future they need to provide better immigration clearance and visibility which will help in making it an international transit hub.

Terminal 2 has an amazing design, lot of seating and a huge food court. On arrival it was really fast and I was out in less than an hour. However on departure the immigration, baggage drop-off and customs queues were long and really no proper systems in place leading to us waiting for almost an hour and a half. This is the first time this has happened but otherwise the airport is fantastic - a hundred times better than the old one.

Arrived on Jet Airways flight from Bhuj. Bussed to the arrivals lounge of the domestic terminal and and as this was evening peak hour we expected crowds, but this was horrifying. More than 10 flights waiting for luggage and only 3 belts of the 5 working. Our baggage belt had flights from 3 different destinations showing and baggage took an hour. No trolleys available until they came in with hundreds and then left them in the middle of the belts to cause further congestion. When you get outside its a free for all. People stopping cars midway and getting in/out without caring for the jam behind. No airport staff to be seen to help anywhere. Its a shocking terminal.
