"T1 has gone through a huge improvement"

(Philippines)

Verified Review | Manila's T1 has gone through a huge improvement when the big carriers (CX, DL, SQ, KLM) moved to T3. There is less of a crowd, the terminal is cleaner, air-conditioning is much cooler. My family and I took an early morning flight to Taipei and the terminal was pretty deserted during check in, immigration and security extremely quick (under 30 minutes). Airside, was the standard duty free shops with severely overpriced food options. There was more seating space before the gate where we spent our time waiting instead of being corralled in the claustrophobic gate 9 area. I decided to check out the lounges available either for purchase or by my credit card, but the state of the PAGS lounge was so shoddy that I thought waiting at the transit area was a better option. Upon arrival, health check, immigration and customs were pretty quick, but baggage was slow to come out of the carousel. Terminal 1 has improved immensely but could use some more improvement in terms of efficiency and lounge maintenance.

Manila Airport customer review

(Canada)

Manila Airport is clean but the management should set up more toilets as there are lots of passengers coming in and out in terminal 2. I wasn't able to go to toilet before boarding as the line up is too long.

"airport has really changed"

(Philippines)

First time in Manila Terminal 3 since September last year. The airport has really changed. High speed internet, more seats, a food court, more shops, more restaurants and even a lounge where you can sleep and spend the night for a very affordable price. No more need to say "I hate Manila airport"!

"endless noisy announcements"

(Philippines)

Verified Review | Manila Airport Terminal 2 is small and can be very crowded during evenings where a lot of flights depart. There is absolutely no place here to relax - endless noisy announcements, very crowded departure lounge and metal seats that are painful to sit on. Toilets are disgusting even if airport claims they have improved it. I doubt if the management is serious in making service better. Even Philippine Airlines who is exclusively using the terminal seems not caring about passenger well-being while at the airport.

"terminal feels more like a dirty bus depot"

(Australia)

Verified Review | I booked a flight from Cairns, Australia to London via Manila. I paid a very low price for the airfare but unfortunately the cost was transiting through Manila Airport terminal 2 for 8 hours on the way to London and 3 hours on the way back. What a woeful experience. The terminal feels more like a dirty bus depot than an airport. I had to queue in the longest line to use the toilet and although there was a bathroom cleaner/attendant ushering people in and out of the cubicles, the toilet looked dirty and smelled awful. Not nearly enough toilets for the volume of people using the terminal. The selection of food and drinks was appalling, nasty and overpriced rubbish food with only the Deli France cafe making a semi reasonable western style coffee. Also, be aware that they only accept pesos so make sure that you have some local money as the food outlets do not have credit card facilities. There are no flight indicator boards which caused me some confusion as my boarding pass issued in London said that my flight to Cairns was from gate 3 but in fact it was gate 9, I discovered this by accident not long before boarding and if I had of been preoccupied reading or resting I may not have made the flight as flight announcements for gate 9 can't be heard from the area where gate 3 is located. The seating is cold, hard metal benches and depending on where you sit you will either be hot or have a column style air con unit blasting you with cold air. The whole terminal is bustling with employees including cleaners but goodness knows what they actually do there as the floors, benches, toilets and surfaces in this terminal look and feel grotty. Compared to the airports in other places in Asia such as Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, etc, this place is a national embarrassment. I will be avoiding this airport in future, it is a dirty, unorganised and depressing place to spend in transit. The only saving grace was that the wifi worked.

"worst airport I've ever seen"

(United States)

Manila is the worst airport I've ever seen. Arrived 4 hours before my flight. Sat down and scoped the food. A very poor selection for a primary international airport. Shameful. Having just come from Bangkok that is like paradise by comparison. After sitting for 2 hours we were ushered from our seat to a ridiculous long queue to once again check our documents. Probably the most innane organizational nightmare that left us without our seats, which my 11 year old was enjoying being occupied by a nearby TV. So we're left for another 2 hours of standing in a cattle pen. Really the worst airport with sour staff and awful services / process.

"there is not enough space"

(Philippines)

NAIA Terminal 2 exclusively used by Philippine Airlines barely improved. Toilets remain cramped and dirty. There is not enough space where passengers are squeezed in like cattle. Seats are metal, hard and uncomfortable, especially while waiting for hours over delayed flights. Food kiosks serve terrible overpriced junk food. Airconditioning barely function. Immigration counters are located at both ends of the terminal, each for Filipinos and non-Filipinos. However, there is no adequate signage visible to passengers so many passengers unfamiliar with the system get confused.

"there are some noticeable improvements"

(United Kingdom)

I must say I have been pleasantly surprised with my recent Manila airport experiences. Domestic T2, arrived 2 hours prior to my flight. Through check in and security in less than 10 minutes. Before heading to the lounge, I scanned for my gate in the small domestic area and found that despite the relative congestion of the airport, there are still some seats at the gates. Few eating options which are overpriced. No drinking stations, and the toilets seem a bit dodgy. MNL T2 domestic has some work to do, but there are some noticeable improvements.

"a pleasantly surprising experience"

(Philippines)

Departed T3 on an 8am flight. Arrived at around 6am with minimal queueing at the strange x-ray stop point as one enters the terminal. Quick check in process and quickly through immigration and final security. The speed of my going from landslide to airside sort of disoriented me (was I really in Manila airport?). Perhaps it was because it was a Tuesday and hence not peak travel time, or the new government really cracked down on airport inefficiency. Regardless, this is one thankful traveler. New stores in the offing but I can't really comment on the dining options as I headed straight to the lounge. Also had a very quick zip from the lounge to the plane. All in all, it was a pleasantly surprising experience.

"terminal was working well"

(United Kingdom)

T2 is a dreadful place. 20 minute queue to get into the terminal mid morning. Check-In and Immigration were reasonable as was Departure Security, but the Departures Area was more like a bus station than an airport - poor seating, barely functioning air conditioning, pathetic selection of places to eat / drink, no smoking area and queues for toilets. No flight information screens and it's pretty evident that the terminal was working well in excess of its design capacity. Arrivals starts with this Health Check Questionnaire, not sure what they're trying to achieve there, but it's not working. Immigration was fairly quick in early evening and this was followed by nearly 1 hour in the baggage hall with people 4 deep at the baggage belt - total joke. There is no way way this place is capable of handling 3 x 777's arriving within 30 minutes of each other. I arrived at the taxi rank 1 hour 20 mins after landing and waited 45 minutes on a metered taxi. I was able to fly from Bangkok in around 3 hours but took over 2 hours to negotiate Manila airport T2. It's a national disgrace.
