Had to use Gatwick airport for a specific flight but will not be using again. This was our 3rd flight into Gatwick in about 4 years and each time we have had to wait well over an hour and up to 3 hours for our bags to arrive whilst the airline keeps making apologies over the tannoy. This was despite having to walk for miles after disembarking to passport control.

Arrived South Terminal Thursday 24 October at 11 pm. Could not believe the queue - filling all the corridor (so ten or twelve people deep) and extending for several hundred metres beyond the ramp into the passport control hall. No air conditioning so hot and stinking I thought I would faint. Discomfort aside the delay at this hour means missing scheduled connecting buses and waiting through the night. There appeared to be no reason there was no explanation or apology. It spoiled the experience of going away. Outward journey was fine but still I will try not to use this airport again.

Gatwick Connect - promises much delivers not! I arranged my travel with easyJet into and out of Gatwick as I would be able to leave my cases safely with the new service whilst passing through security to the 'haven' of the 1 Lounge (North Terminal) - I had a 7 hour layover and as the bag drop is only available 2.5 hours in front of take off it would mean no trying to find somewhere to sit in departures for hours and hours. I went to the desk in baggage reclaim the lady said "ah easyJet sorry they don't use our service" I asked what she suggested as the web site makes no mention of this fact "don't have one" she replied. I asked which airlines used this great new service - Virgin and Norwegian only! I went to easyJet service desk and asked if I could drop my bags now as I was stuck with a problem not of my making - no chance I was told! I asked for a suggestion and was told one floor down left luggage £7 per bag. Not at all helpful and extremely annoying. As easyJet is one of if not the biggest user of Gatwick I think the site needs some clarity so that loyal easyJet customers who use Gatwick often as I do do not get left in the dreadful situation again.

Plenty of shops but grossly inadequate male toilet facilities in departure lounge of North Terminal with long queues of anxious passengers. The people who own Gatwick need to understand that their primary responsibility is to passengers and not the maximisation of shop profits.

Arrival into North Terminal on Sunday 20th Oct from FAO with BA. Immigration clear with only very short wait. The wait for bags was 35-40 mins from the aircraft arriving at the stand. First trolley was broken and as you pay a £ £1 deposit there is no process to take broken trolley out for repair you return it to get £1 back and take another. Drinks vending machine also broken in baggage reclaim area. Only one staff member in area who was dealing with transfers. Overall: Could be a better experience.

I really resent the hard-sell at this airport. I constantly feel as if the airport has been designed around and operated around getting every last penny out of me while they can. Shop owners and sales stands shouting at potential customers as they pass by and trying to get their attention its very rude. The management are making fundamental errors in their organisation and if they cant organise this place properly then they should shape up or ship out!

9am arrival two young children in tow passport control chaos Gatwick staff were few finally found some assistance he blamed passport control staff they in turn blamed Gatwick Airport. So while they blame one another the poor customer queues around the barriers and on up the ramp - completely unacceptable. Gatwick have got it badly wrong!

What a shame. Gatwick has spent multi-millions on building and all they have got for it is an Ikea for perfume. It resembles a rat maze - they want you to walk around in circles and seem to forget they are supposed to be an airport! It was better the way it was. And still no improvement on the length of walks to the gates. We do not want endless conveyors. We want simplified access to the gates. If Gatwick wants to build a shopping mall go somewhere else and do it!

Terrible wifi. So slow it is non-existent in the departure area and non-existent in the gate lounges. This is no longer acceptable. Fix it please Gatwick management and join the 21st century.

South terminal. Late September is not the busiest time for Gatwick but on this evidence the airport is well organised. Security quick but professional. All staff polite. Airside adequate seating for the waiting passengers. Didn't like having to trail through endless so-called duty free outlets to reach the seating but understand the need to maximise customer spend (and to think that airports used to be where passengers waited for their planes rather than shopping malls!) Overall the experience at Gatwick was good.
