"this peculiar terminal is a horror movie"

Trip Verified | The queue for checking in easyJet flights circulated most of the outside area at terminal two. If you have baggage to dispatch, prepare and get earlier to the airport. As usual, this peculiar terminal is a horror movie, there are young adults crying in public because a lot of them lost their flights due to this airport mess, there is no possible distance between people, passengers are anxious and stressed out, staff when called out are rude and very provocative. Be careful with this place, rather visit other European capital than having to endure this terrible infrastructure. Portugal should be ashamed and authorities should act.

"such an awful airport"

Trip Verified | Terminal 2, which serves three terrible budget carriers has one of the worst departure halls in the world. Hardly any seating, no signage for assistance passengers, overcrowded, horrible. Never again. Next time I would rather suffer through TAP's horrible lack of legroom than this terminal. Such a beautiful city and country, such an awful airport. I will fly via OPO from now on. Much better airport.

"no cleaning staff in sight"

Not Verified | Flying with TAP Air Portugal LHR to EWR with a connecting flight in Lisbon. Signage to the Non Schengen area was a little confusing, but found it with few issues, and went through security checks again. The female officer was very rude, even after I explained that I'm partly deaf and couldn't hear her instructions very well under her mask. The Non Schengen area had rubbish left on seats (no cleaning staff in sight), holes in the masonry and ceilings. Queuing up for my connecting flight was quite chaotic, but the officer checking my papers, Covid tests etc was very nice. Not sure if the other parts of the airport are in such disarray, but I will be avoiding it in the future!

"Avoid at all costs"

Trip Verified | 2.5 hours, no exaggeration, standing in crowded lines, to get through immigration check! This is unconscionable. All because their immigration workers want more money and find it's okay to abuse families, the elderly and others by torturing them to stand in a crowded line, during Covid, for three hours. There needs to be a law against abusing arriving passengers like this. This is like involuntary detainment. I don't have enough words to explain how horrific flying into this airport is. Avoid at all costs.

"took 30 minutes to get through"

Not Verified | We missed our flight along with several other passengers because there were only two people serving international passengers in passport control. We took 30 minutes to get through. Several passengers pushed ahead of us and moved through and just made it. We made it to the desk with 13 minutes before the flight time. The BA person in charge of flights said that there was no queue in immigration. I have never missed a flight due to airport issues before.

"Put this airport to rest!"

Trip Verified | This is such a tragic airport that embarrasses me deeply as Portuguese this being the entrance for many of our visitors but also for much of the country's population. Toilets seem to have been left to be cleaned for days, the terrible smell, the deeply petulant staff, the general chaos and lack of space for both terminals now, this airport needs urgently to be closed and to become a park in the middle of the city like Berlin Tempelhof Airport. Tragic is the best word to describe this infrastructure. Put this airport to rest!

Not Verified | Worst ever airport departure management. Extremely long ques first for check in - then system/baggage chain failure restricting luggage check in, so que up to enter terminal boarding area showing boarding passes with all luggage. Cross that to face massive security line and illogical - allowed all large check in bag, randomly picking suitcases and throwing away expensive liquid items. Long passport control with limited staff, and then another long que to boarding counter followed by final flight boarding bus journey. Avoid if you can. Last visit to Lisbon, shame, since the city was decent.

Not Verified | The most terrible airport I have ever been to, Insane queues, terrible planning and floorplan. Just 1 security belt working while it was top busy. Hot, no social distancing possible and bad ventilation. Ruined my day and put a burden on the joy of my vacation.

"the worst airport in Europe if not the world"

Trip Verified | Unquestionably the worst airport in Europe if not the world. It's footprint is small, arguably too small for the traffic that flows through the airport. But even worse the infrastructure is absolutely terrible. Even during the pandemic, with considerably less travelers than normal, it's a miserable place to go through. 75% of the flights are boarded via buses to take you to the plane and there is zero consideration for social distancing during the pandemic. Signage within the airport is confusing at best, inaccurate at times and non-existent at other times. Baggage handling is absolutely atrocious and on a good day you'll wait an hour for your bags and if you have to go to one of the offices to make a claim good luck with that as the queues are absurd and slow and the people are not helpful or friendly. Regrettably the worst thing about this airport is none of the above but rather the people who work there. I have simply never encountered ruder people everywhere within the airport. It must be a requirement to get hired at the Lisbon airport that you have to have zero social skills and be downright rude and unpleasant. In as much as an airport can serve as the welcoming point for any visitor and first impressions matter, you simply cannot go through this airport and come out of it with a positive impression. TAP often has some of the best fares around and it's always so tempting to use them but it's really a discount airline at best and their operations reflect the overall operations of the airport is being just absolutely poor. Do yourself a favor and Transit through other airports.
