"Met our needs, staff helpful"

Not a large airport, my wife and I found this one more like ones we are used to in New Zealand. No airbridges, but airstairs do the job well, especially at smaller airports. Arrival was good, a lot of taxi touts which is not unusual in Malaysia, we used a coupon taxi for transport to our hotel. Did not visit the shops or toilets here, had a long wait in departure lounge for our flight. Met our needs, staff helpful.

"this is not a place to spend any time"
B Lewis (Australia)
✅ Verified Review | Arriving was a breeze. You have to use stairs though. Everything was fast, luggage, hire car, easy. Leaving was not as nice. I advise that you buy any snacks before you go through security, Airside it is very tight. Nearly all the seats were taken, there is just a small cafe selling a very small array of snacks which looked unappealing, and a newsagent. That's it, The toilets were the worst I have ever experienced in any airport, the smell was horrendous. The fan going in there did nothing to make it better. My husband is a smoker, nowhere to smoke airside. Our flight was delayed and this is not a place to spend any time in if you can avoid it.

"it was clean and simple"
1 reviews Marcus Wong (Malaysia)
Arrived at Langkawi International Airport at 1.00pm after my AirAsia flight. No aerobridge here so we had to disembark the plane by stairs. First impression of the airport was good because it was clean and simple, perfect for an island airport. Toilets were very clean. Baggage reclaim area and customs come just after we enter the terminal, very convenient. Small airport so not many shops and restaurants. At least there is a small lounge there. Lots of seats for you to relax. Found this airport really nice.

"bags arrived in reasonable time"
7 reviews Graeme Baxter (Zambia)
Small airport, no sky bridges so you walk from and to the plane. No problems arriving at immigration, line not so bad. Bags arrived in reasonable time. Toilets in the baggage claim hall are awful, rather use the one on the plane before landing or wait until you get to your hotel. A lot of car hire firms in the arrivals hall, loads of taxi touts and taxis, cars and mini buses blocking the drop off road. As for changing money, everywhere on the island the rate is poor $1 = MYR4.10 rather change in KL, there we got $1 = MYR4.40 On departure, no line at the Tiger air check-in, but a long one at Air Asia. There are shops, McDonalds and a Starbucks before going airside. Security and immigration, no lines. Once airside there is only a very small takeaway coffee kiosk and there are no smoking areas so be warned. Tiger Air left on time, Air Asia which was meant to depart before us, also to Singapore, was delayed.

"clean, but a bit rusty"
12 reviews Prayash Giria (India)
Small, functional airport which is a bit drab for a holiday destination like Langkawi. Clean, but a bit rusty. A decent common hall with shopping and eating before check in / after baggage claim, but next to nothing to do on the airside. Still more pleasant than KLIA 2 or Subang.

No boarding bridges. But views are very nice. Not much wait for luggage. The ground service is good.

Small airport only serves a couple of airlines. Landing process was pretty fast seem the airport does not have air bridges. Bags delivered pretty fast. Check in at airport was fine many dining options. Security check was fast. Not sure about transportation options because we were picked up and dropped off by our hotel. It is a very sufficient regional airport.

Lovely airport and great shops for an airport of this size. Paying a the counter for taxi's removes the touts that descend on you in other places. Food options are limited but then who would want to spend too long checking in too early and getting hungry when on such a lovely island

Used this airport recently. It is nice and efficient. Managed to retrieved luggage within 10 mins. There are about 3 belts at the arrival hall. We booked a taxi at the taxi counter for M$24 for our 30 min journey to the hotel. At Langkawi there is no meter in the taxi they offer fixed prices unlike KL. Check in at Air Asia counter fro flights to KL was quick. Passed through immigrations within minutes. They offer an "only lady" immigration as well. Plenty of Arabs in the airport and was told that it was their peak (holidays) season. There is a number of shops and food outlets. Overall its a nice airport.

It's always a pleasure going through this airport. It is clean spacious and easy to navigate. Immigration and customs are always fast and efficient. There are a good number of duty-free shops although not as many food outlets.
