"now quite reasonable"
David Stanley (United Kingdom)
✅ Trip Verified | Juba airport had been rated worst in the world by some passenger surveys, with good reason. However, the original terminal has been replaced with a small but functional new terminal. Arrival and departure procedures are now quite reasonable for a developing country. There is a proper luggage carousel on arrival. Departure is OK. Check-in was a bit slow, but no problems at immigration which is now computerised like anywhere else. There are small but reasonably stocked shops before and after security and cafés too. The gate area is air conditioned, with new seating and TV. You do need a paid voucher for the wifi though. No longer an airport to dread using.

Juba Airport customer review

I have been through here a few times in the last year or so. The airport is small dirty and chaotic. No real facilities. Immigration and baggage claim are slow and hot. Departure is worse. Chaos in the check in area as well as for immigration. You can wander out of the terminal once you have checked in and been through immigration. If you have a while to wait you can get some snacks outside. There is a new airport terminal building under construction but it looks like work has stopped or is progressing very slowly.

Juba Airport customer review
Anders Pedersen (Denmark)
In Juba (South Sudan) the airport is rapidly increasing number of flights and pax. However it is very old too small and very dirty no scanners working security cumbersome as bags had to be opened manually. The check-in area immigration is basically in one room which at peak hours turns chaotic. No facilities no chairs no airconditioning. No good signage. If granted access to VIP room nearby there is air-condition but one must go through additional security checks. A new terminal is being constructed. This airport is what one would imagine as a typical African airport 60 years ago. If yellow card can’t be presented at check in (to and from JUB) you can neither arrive nor depart.
