"airport terminal is very organised"
I Reisch (Australia)
✅ Trip Verified | We took a TAME flight to Baltra Galápagos. Check-in was very easy with very short queues and very clear instructions given how to get to your gate. For the Galápagos Islands you are required to go through a host of quarantine checks and you are required to pay US$20 per person to receive a certificate. Without such a certicate you will be unable to board nor will you be allowed past the passport control at Baltra. The airport terminal is very organised and gates are well spaced. Great airport. Also when arriving in Baltra, you are required to pay an additional entry fee of US$100.

"modern and easy to navigate"
Loay Osman (United Arab Emirates)
✅ Verified Review | I was surprised with the cleanliness and efficiency of the airport in Guayaquil. Really modern and easy to navigate. I liked the zen garden at the domestic arrivals which really was a nice touch. Toilets were clean. Passport control very organised and staff are polite, also duty free staff were very helpful. Nice WiFi and view of the runway watching planes goes by. Happy using it.

"everything was great and professional"
Josh Stanley (United States)
Everything was great and professional from the moment we arrived. There were two other flights at immigration, one from Europe the other from Buenos Aires and immigration lines was moving fast. When we got there the officer was very friendly and welcoming, she even wished us to enjoy her country, that was very nice. Airport is very modern, has all the amenities to pass by time really fast, free WIFI is available plus charge stations.

"staff are not that friendly"
14 reviews Carlos Brigolas (Portugal)
✅ Verified Review | Guayaquil Airport is modern and clean but if you arrive on a domestic flight there is no transit. You need to go out and do check-in and security. Arrivals can be crowded and staff are not that friendly. The one smile that I got was from the girl selling chocolates at the store inside.

"a fairly basic, simple no-frills experience"
S Franklin (Ecuador)
✅ Verified Review | I've flown through this airport several times this year, and generally consider it a fairly basic, simple no-frills experience. It's close to the business areas of Guayaquil, and normally transit through migration, security, etc is quick and painless. Not however, yesterday, 30/9/2016: the queue for the exit control and security snaked halfway down the terminal building. Even allowing 2 hours to pass the controls was not enough time to reach my gate before the plane left. This is utterly unacceptable, the management company needs to get its act together and provide efficient passenger handling.

Friendly of the staff a new huge mall had been opening Mall del Soll. This is the modern and fully functional airport with the biggest mall of the country and four hotels between 4 & 5 stars.

Guayaquil Airport customer review
Cristiano Miro (United States)
Arrived in Guayaquil with Avianca from Bogota last week. The airport is a beautiful and modern structure clean and functional. Immigration was less than professional with the agent being rude and curt. On departure after a very quick check-in I once again faced a less than friendly immigration agent. At least the departure tax is now included in the price of your ticket. Jose Joaquim de Olmedo airport is the only choice for southern Ecuador and if not for the poorly trained personnel it provides a good facility for travelers. In the main terminal on arrival there are several eateries to choose from including a few US chains.

Arrived from Miami immigration quick and well organised luggage pick up was relatively fast. Staff speaks limited or no english could not explain why you need to screen your luggage by leaving customs. (Have not seen it at other airports yet). ATM's are available food court offers variety of food though quite expensive.
