Not Verified | Avoid at all costs. Hot, uncomfortable, and a Kafkaesque nightmare. The staff changed their minds about where we needed to go and what we needed to do several times. To be clear about that: a single person gave us different answers when told the same thing many times. And it wasn't just him. Also be careful: their English sounds better than it is and they don't always mean what they say when giving directions. The facility itself is awful. The halls are a tangled mess with completely useless signs that often send you in the wrong direction. The bathrooms are dirty and have many broken parts. And it is ugly: grey, fluorescent lights, exposed wire. I know that the last part shouldn't matter but when you have been walking in circles for 2 hours it is a reminder of how little anyone here cares about a positive experience for anyone. Things that were good: when you finally find the correct ticket agent they are very good and know what they're doing. Also, the Deli Bros served us an excellent breakfast at a reasonable price for an airport restaurant, even if the drinks were oddly expensive.

❎ Not Verified | Staff at the airport was helpful and friendly. The problem with this airport, or, rather, with Lufthansa, is the enormous size and walking distance between connecting flights. Both on outbound and return flights, there was a huge distance between flight gates, which posed difficulties for a 72-year-old with a bad back and resultant flat feet. Since we had 3 hours transit time on the outbound flight, time was not a problem, but on the return, transit time was 50 minutes, some 20 minutes of which was devoted to getting off the plane for the first leg of the trip and the long bus trip to the terminal. Once in the terminal, there was a frantic run--it seemed like at least a kilometre to the gate for the connecting flight, reaching the gate just before they closed the gate for the last bus to the aircraft. It would be wonderful if the airport made cart transport available for those with a short transit time and bus transit to the aircraft involved. I was informed by the cabin staff that this was not available.

✅ Trip Verified | The worst airport I have ever used. Really stupid boarding system and security checking. I really wondered the person designed this airport has ever been used it. If he/she does, then he/she will realize all these faults.

❎ Not Verified | Worst ever airport for transit. On my way out I had a long layover, so no rush, but I could find no help on what gate I needed (it was not on the board and not on my boarding pass so I had no way if knowing where to go). It is a complete maze, the staff are on the whole extremely unfriendly. The queue to go through security was small but took a ridiculously long time - the staff stood talking/laughing whilst many of my fellow passengers had connecting flights with short transfer times. The airport was unbearably hot - how can an airport in Europe not have air con? (I was there when during the heat wave) I had to get a bus to the plane (no problem, I’m used to that being from the UK!). However we were kept in an old gate that was so hot before we could get on the bus, the bus then took 15 mins and then we had to get off the bus to wait in the blaring sunshine for a further 15 mins. I’ve never experienced anything like it. The return journey wasn’t as bad, my incoming flight was extremely delayed so I only had 45 mins to connect - I managed it by luck, no thanks to the surly staff. I will definitely avoid travelling through Frankfurt if I can avoid it!

Not Verified | It was the worst airport I have ever seen. Long way to go, poor air conditioning and the worst thing as usual was the rude impolite staff working at the airport. I will never book a flight passing by this airport again.

✅ Trip Verified | Just perfect! The best airport for me! Very clean, very nice. The staff are very kind and professionnal. All is very fast and perfect. The lounges are very complete.

✅ Trip Verified | Poor signage. Very few toilets which are always closed for cleaning. Long walks due to bad planning. Renovations done in ridiculous way with exposed wiring and no safety precautions. Employees are third rate. The security check is always lousy here. I used to like this airport until a few years ago but will avoid it in future if possible.

Not Verified | Please use rolling, covered escalators to get people off of planes when they are parked on the tarmac. I have been using Lufthansa and flying in and out of Frankfurt since 1985. The last two times have been ridiculous and truly horrible for people with mobility problems, age and small children. How do you expect these folks to get on and off your planes this way? I experienced this three years ago and now I see you still are forcing people off of planes in this way. Please use your engineers to come up with a waterproof, rolling escalator that can roll up to a plane and allow people to disembark and embark safely. I witnessed an old man and his wife struggling to get up those stairs and then needing a wheelchair to get off of the plane at their destination. Shame on you for letting this go on so long and shame on you for not having the presence of mind to come up with a solution.

Not Verified | Avoid this airport if possible. Queuing times are long, ways are long, lots of slots and not to much boarding space so you often go by bus. In a nutshell, it is very poor.

✅ Trip Verified | I don't know if there were some improvements done to the airport or maybe I was in a different area from last time, but it felt refurbished, clean, open. That is always good. Signs are good.
